Michael Jordan has turned 58 years old and still talked about today nonstop. The 5x MVP winner could have had more regular season trophies, but won 6 Finals MVP and perfect in the NBA Finals. Here is how many MVPs MJ should have really won?

If I was new to the game of NBA Basketball knowing just a little bit, 8 MVPs is the total I would have probably thought MJ won. He does have the '87 & '88 Dunk Contest Award, 2 Summer Olympic Gold Medals. Also, the 1984/85 Rookie of the Year and for all 6 Bulls Championships, MJ was the Finals MVP every time. He was the NCAA Player of the Year in '84. Michael won 10 Scoring Titles with Chicago. LeBron is trying to play catch up, however it's a little too late for him to catch MJ. He won all these accolades, awards, trophies & accomplishments in just 15 seasons. Meanwhile, LeBron's numbers are less and trailing MJ in 20+ years.
Imagine if MJ played at least 15 healthy seasons through the 80s and 90s

Michael played on the '84 US Olympic team that played & beat the NBA Allstar team before the Olympics began. MJ was the best player on either team for that game! When Michael arrived in Chicago, the Celtics, Lakers, & Sixers had 4 or more HOF'ers on their teams while Chicago had only Jordan. Only after Pippen became an all-star in '91 did the Bulls begin their run. Barkley in '93 & Malone in '97 won the NBA regular season MVP even though neither was better than Jordan. The awards gave MJ motivation to set the NBA straight in my opinion! He was clearly the best NBA player his whole career in Chicago, scoring champion & 1st team all-defense repeatedly only lacking quality teammates to compliment his unique talent!

I agree with you, 6 total MVP's, that one won my Malone, as much as I respect his game, was due to MJ. Maybe in 93 over Charles, but as a close run as Charles had a great season that year, but in 97 was MJ 100%!

Jordan should have at least 6MVPs and a great case for 9 because he won Scoring title while being one of all defensive 1st team same years. He did it 6 consecutive years and got it 9x in his career. Best scorer while one of the 5 best defender(best in his position)

Hard not to give it to Earvin in 90. He had an excellent season while leading his team to the best record in the league. 91 to 93 seems more realistic. And I agree MJ should have 7 in total. At least 6. It is what it is.

I got 10 MVP's for him and that's not including the years he retired.
Jordan should've won 7 MVP's, 10 times scoring champion, led the league in steals 3 times, dfoy 2 times MJ was head and shoulders above everyone for 10 years

This is the ONLY discrepancy(imo) , my gripe is that at the very LEAST 96' Rodman should have won co-FMVP, if not FMVP. There is a very good youtube video on it, it makes a very good case. Otherwise completely agree 7 FMVP

Rodman was a top 50 player, 7 rebounding titles including 98, 7 all defensive teams, defensive player of the year. He was far from a role player. Nor was Pippen or Kukoc. I know you’d love to alter history to pretend jordan didn’t have help around him but the truth is before Pippen (and Rodman) jordan had exactly 0 titles, and after then he had exactly 0 titles. Rodman was the true finals MVP in 96 and arguably in 97 as well.
