  • Scouting Fields- Overall the crop looks good other than the plants are a little yellow yet due to the extra moisture and low temps we've had. While I was out and about it was the perfect time to replace some broken drain tile covers with some new covers from May Wes. Onyx takes out the trash with our 3038E John Deere Lawn and Garden Tractor. Check out our new J&M 4 Wheel Steer Header Trailer and my new wardrobe from Walls Outdoor Clothing.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

To get the John Deere to run there is a sensor under the sea unplug it and you will be good to go. If you want to cut grass while the seat sensor is unplugged there is a second sensor, you unplug it and then you have to solder a wire to join the two purple wires and then the mower will work.
    All the best, Edgar

What I do with seat sensors is secure them in the seated position. The bigger bulb type I use zip ties. The smaller button type I use a piece of plastic from an ice cream pail, secure with zip ties, and then wrap with electrical tape. No figuring out which wires need to be spliced together that way as some have 3 or more wires. If you ever sell it, it's an easy fix to bring it back to factory. I've done that with all my riding mowers so that I can mow ditches and sit on the fenders for counterbalance.

Take a piece of covered wire, strip both ends, make it U shaped, & stick it in the end of the plug. Defeats the switch switch. Or use a drill screws to screw down the switch, just depends on the type of switch you have. I did that to my 6420 IVT tractor. But like a week worth of use, the computer say, a problem with it, so you have to unplug the switch behind the seat on the floor. Then plug it back in.

I do want to see that four-wheel- steer header cart tracking behind the truck. I'll wait.

I'll tell ya what Zach, these rains have hit us hard too, over here across the Red. We had to put a 3/4 section in to preventive plant. Also we had a lot of Jim moments. Planter got stuck 4 times in the same day on the same field. Took a 9560 R to and an 8970 chained together plus the 9410 R planter tractor to pull the sucker out the first time. Darn near needed to pull the other 9560 off the cultivator to come help but we creeped her out of muck. It sure is handy to have multiple 4 wheel drive tractors around.

Just an unsolicited suggestion, you need to put in a french drain and a sump to draw the water from the location of the auger. Some tile pipe and a buried 5 gallon pail would provide a sump you allow you to pump it down properly Zach.
