I agree, that's what I did .. it's a no brainer .. just disconnect the power to the fans, and take off the 3 top screws that are easily accessible .. that's it and you can slide it out from there .. I have no idea how I would have been able to take off the bottom hoses with the fan in the way .. looked like a nightmare scenario lol props to op for being able to do it

Good vid! Works for a v6 as well, just a few minor differences. Smart move removing the bottom hose from the block and not trying to struggle getting it off of the bottom of the radiator until out of the car!! :)
Do need to refill the oil for the oil cooling or let the air out of the system since you disconected them at the bottom of the rediator and some air came in?
just replaced one on my 05 accord .. used a carquest brand from advanced auto .. right off the bat the screw holes for the fan were different and at first I couldn't even get them to reach the hole .. finally, somehow, was able to get them to 'catch' and then screwed them in ... which I'm not even sure if they screwed in properly or eating up the threads .. but that wasn't even the worst part .. my old radiator cap wouldn't fit(didn't come with a cap) .. so a straightforward 1 hr at most job has turned into a hassle and now it's new years day and I'm waiting on a 'carquest cap' that I ordered same day delivery but I don't know if they're open today sunday so I might have to wait until tomorrow just to see if the cap works .. if the cap doesn't work now we're talking several days or more to get ahold of another radiator ... 1 hr job turns into a week job(if the new cap doesn't work) .. absolutely retarded .. moral of the story .. just get the oem radiator .. don't fk with such an important piece and it'll save you needless headaches

Great video I was able to take out fans and radiator exactly like you did, Quick question pretty long only answer if you have the time, any insight will be greatly appreciated Honda Accord 2007 SE Sedan V6 215k miles, struck a vehicle lightly only took off front bumper and now I have a coolant leak. Hooked up OBD 2 scanner no error codes, no lights on dash, watched video took out radiator, no leaks, no plastic cracks, fins look good, fans spin when I put on AC. Coolant reservoir doesn't leak it stays full. The dipstick in the oil is a normal level. Car does not overheat. I do not drive it of course. I have a beginner question, when I take off the oil fill cap I see a little oil in the bottom, is this normal? The dipstick in the oil is a normal level.. Checked under fill cap to see if I have milky sludge no sludge no milky deposits, no blue smoke out of tail pipe, no smoke,. Don't see oil leak under car. Trying to look at hoses, but having trouble finding any leaks Don't have radiator cooling system pressure thing and don't have the dye, wouldn't know how to use either if I did, is there a way to check to see if I have hose leaks other than visually inspecting. Like can I pour coolant in on the attached hoses and see if it leaks or something like that? Lastly I've done a lot to the car in the last 50k miles, mechanic has done ball joint on each side, front axel replacement, driver side control arm and lower tie rod bushing replacement, I've done side motor mount replacement, purge valve solenoid replacement, oil changed every 4 to 5 k, new tires I do brakes and rotors they are solid, basically trying to determine if I can fix the top issue and if I do does a car like mine with 215k have a lot of life left? All ideas, criticisms, or corrections are welcome? Thank you
I'm doing my valve seals now. 12 intake, 12 exhaust. Since I'm there. Head Gasket and timing belt. Afterwards, valve job adjustment. I'm on the second head now. HoangTran-ge5eg is correct. The valves leak oil into the cylinder head causing misfires. Fouled up spark plug tips wet with oil and white smoke followed by hesitation. Only J series v6 engines have this issue. For those guessing when; my car had 156,459 when it started taking a dump.

Can someone PLEASE tell me what the connector is called that screws onto the bottom? It’s at the 7:50 part of the video. The radiator I pulled out of my Honda has a much much smaller connector. Can I buy a reducer for the hole that will fit my connector or is there a radiator that actually has the right size hole? I don’t know what to do! Please help!!!

@@chibba5418 Nah, Honda's are picky about coolant, transmission fluid and power steering fluid. Those three must be OE. If not enjoy the leaks and corrosion.
@@beechewawa9989 I've been running bottled water in my K24A4 Accord all summer, in Arizona. I work that car to hell, and it's tuned. I rev it 700rpm past redline every drive. Wouldn't reccomend it, but I've had no issues yet. I use Super Tech or Peak (cheapest at walmart) on a variety of vehicles in AZ, and have yet to run into an issue. J35, K24: never had coolant issues.
@@chibba5418 I hope it's distilled or purified water. Years ago I had an f22a from a 92 honda accord. The inside of the block looked like a dirty penny. I learned the expensive way.

I was in an emergency and I couldn't get ahold of the honda coolant from the dealer because it was a 14 mile roundtrip and I wasn't willing to risk overheating driving that far as my radiator was starting to fail .. so I bought the radiator and coolant at a store right by my house ... I used pentofrost a3 .. is that ok ? it's supposedly ok for 1990 and younger hondas
No 50/50 pre-mix. Honda fluid says genuine Honda OE and it is a dark blue colored fluid. Some auto shops will carry it if not go to the Honda dealer. $14 to $25 per bottle. I believe you need four for a complete refill. @@jmemixx

I would recommend removing the fan first! super easy. So you have more space and less struggle getting to the hose at the bottom

The bottom lines go to the tranmission the radiators in the 7th gen accords also act as transmission coolers if I'm not mistaken

That’s what I loved about my 6th gen V6 accord none of the stuff your doing now just remove the fans and hoses and the radiator lifted right up lol 😂

That coolant sensor or coolant temperature sensor or coolant fan switch.

Check the box where you bought the radiator, mine was taped to a bag inside the cover, otherwise you have to buy a reducer.
