One way to identify the fake and original is to measure the capacitance between gate and source terminal using capacitance tester and compared it to datasheet Input Capacitance parameter. Fake mosfet have substantially lower input capacitance compared to original. Lower input capacitance reading means smaller semiconductor chip inside.

That's not always right for example the irf510 the original should have something like 300pF at the gate and the fake has 1,5nF that's really bad when you want to use them for RF

Amazon is full of counterfeit semiconductors. I ordered what I thought were IRLZ34N clones, but they were so off spec that they didn't work (drain voltage was too low). Ordered some legit ones off Digikey and they worked without issues.
