- A Texas man is taking legal action to investigate his ex-partner’s legal, out-of-state abortion - he and his lawyer have suggested they may try to sue for wrongful death and may pursue charges for anyone involved in “aiding or abetting” his ex’s abortion. This case illustrates the treacherous landscape of Post-Roe America for both pregnant people and healthcare providers who fear legal repercussions, especially in the South. “We have been told that to provide any resources or even information about where legal abortion clinics are, is considered a criminal conspiracy and that we could all be under arrest for that,” Robin Marty, the executive director for the West Alabama Women’s Center explained. The South "This is where the action is happening, this is where people are facing the most legal risks."

The fetus's right to life is the excuse, but it is a pretty poor one if you look at the rights of any human in the position of the fetus. It stole an organ. If this is the case, both fetal DNA tests, prenatal care, and child support payments MUST start at conception! Along with insurance coverage and payments for a mothers loss of income due to both pregnancy related and child care.

So the presumed 'father' would not need to prove he was, in fact, father of the embryo? Without that, he would have no grounds on which to claim any harm to him.

As a retired Criminal defense lawyer who also did some divorces early in my career, I sniff a "break-up hate" harassment case. His motive isn't "precious life." It's rejection outrage. For various reasons, I decided I would not live in the South. I did find myself living in Florida for one year as a young adult and that just reinforced my need to get out and not return. The politics was already nuts and that was years ago. Is there something in the water?
