FINALLY a wireless keyboard review that analyses FUNCTIONALITY instead of the Aesthetic of the keyboard. Rapoo is now off my list of possibilities.
They have higher end models, thts the cheapest one
@@tahsin28 That's a mystery comment. Have you tested the higher end models and be able to make any clear statement on their functionality and quality?
yeah i hope u continue doing more wireless keyboard reviews cus noone is doing em like u do, as another commenter said, nobody mentions the functionality. who cares how it looks have it be pink with yellow buttons as long as the functionality is amazing.
I stopped doing them because 5+ years later there still is no precision touchpad support in an all-in-one windows keyboard that I’m aware of. Never found one. Closed thing is a K830 Logitech but it’s not the same or as good.
Dammit! The search continues! Many thanks for the review.
let me know when you find the perfect one
I completely agree with your opinion. I really need the precision track pad.
Maybe Prestigio Click & Touch will be the solution for you
@@maxoiduss do you find a Prestigio Click & Touch but with touchpad?
@@luisdotto7944 Not with the touchpad, but keyboard keys area is the clickpad itself
its so choppy too it sucks
Finallyyyyyy a review that talks about Windows gestures Thank you man ¡¡¡¡¡¡ I have been looking for this for so long ¡¡¡
2021 and I'm still wating , I can not believe it ¡¡¡¡
Thanks man
Thanks for this review, this is the content I was looking for, not some super generic review.
if your need precision trackpad try corsair K83
have you found one yet?! Desperately need this
thanks so much! I was almost at the point of buying this one, for the exact same reasons you mention, im glad I didnt.
Wow I know your video is already 4y old but I just found it and I so much agree, been using the microsoft one for a few years and it's a shame it lacks backlight and the trackpad is so basic... I periodically look up this kind of all-in-ones keyboard-trackpad because de form factor is so convenient lol I just can't find another one that looks good enough or have the precision trackpad.
Logitech K400 has an issue with tap click. If you use the FN key (in combination or not with other keys) then try immediately a tap click (without moving the pointer), it doesn't work. Does K830 has same issue or is it free from this bug?
wow thanks you saved my money, i was just about to order one.
All I want in life is a wireless keyboard with precision touchpad, RECHARGABLE battery via USB, backlight, PRINTSCREEN, seperate F buttons (or at least a mode where the F buttons are set as the primary option without needing to use them in combination with the FN key) normal arrow layout and normal backspace/enter (e.g the logitech ones have the delkey directly under the backspace and I push del far too often instead of backspace) and SLEEPMODE (so that the keyboard doesnt need me to turn it off when several minutes passed without me using it!)
me too. Did you find ?
Yes, please, a media keyboard with precision touchpad! Why is this not a thing?!
3 years later and still no precision driver update for the all-in-one keyboard. They still sell it though.
nice user-oriented review. helped me alot
It makes me ill when I think about how much time and money I’ve spent in pursuit for a backlit keyboard with onboard precision trackpad that is designed for daily professional use. Everything I’ve purchased and tried to use feels akin to a toy and is acceptable only for basic and occasional use.
Have you tried Logitech TK820 if it uses Precision Touch? Unfortunately they have discontinued it, which is a bummer. Also why does not Microsoft upgrade the Media keyboard with the quality of the Surface Pro Cover keys and touchpad!?
Have you tried the Rapoo K2800? From the manual it looks like it may be a precision trackpad one.
so, any update on media keyboards that have the precision touchpad?
Not that I'm aware of. There is a Corsair with a round touchpad that claims to be precision with gestures, but I've never been able to find it to confirm.
ive bought it 20 jminutes ago and I could live with it, if i could deaktivate the touch to click function. but there are no Options for the touchpad in my win10. Is there any way to do this?
excellent review. any news on the hunt for a decent keyboard with precision touchpad?
btw, is it not possible to update the drivers of the keyboard/touchpad to precision under device manager? (never tried it myself)
Can you review keymecher wired/wireless model?
hey there, does anyone know if the latest MS keyboard supports multi-touch now?
yeah, I'm also trying to find a BT keyboard that has a precision touchpad... tho the product description says it supports win10, support this and that gestures but... fishy... why is this soooo hard to find!!!!!
Do you have any suggestion, or anything that has come up after the video has been made?
Use old driver 10.0.19041.1 not more option but less sensibility
precision trackpad and backlight please !
It's been 6 years since you released this video. Any luck in finding such keyboard?
Nope, windows precision touchpad keyboards do not exist.
Great video. I'm curious if you've found anything better by now.
No I have not.
This video is getting fairly old, so I don't know if you're monitoring it, @Netcruzer, but I wanted to let you know that, as a MacBook Pro user (of about 15 years), I've also been driven crazy by unwanted "clicks" from PC touch pads, as you illustrated very clearly in your Rapoo K2600 review. As I have nerve issues, I had to [begrudgingly] force myself to use the Apple magic-style trackpads installed on our MBPs. Fast forward about 6-7 years and I wouldn't go back to a mouse if you paid me to. Now that I'm [more or less] being forced to employ a PC again, for work purposes, I, too, am hunting for an external PC keyboard with an "Apple-like" touch pad that one actually has to "click" or "double-click" to activate functions with. By the way, we tried both a Dell and an HP Win 11 laptop (in 2023) that had nice-looking large touch pads installed. In short, just like the Rapoo K2600 in this video, both of the touch pads on these laptops would "do their own thing" with the slightest drag of a finger. Regardless, it's very nice to finally find someone else who knows what I mean when I complain about touch pads not performing anything like the track pads found on a MacBook Pro. If you've managed to find anything that behaves like an MBP track pad for a PC, I'd really appreciate your help. I've both liked and subscribed, so cheers for making such an informative video - and please keep up the great work! 👍
I have not found anything on an external keyboard that is as nice as a MacBook or Apple Magic Trackpad. You might be able to get a Bluetooth Apple trackpad working in windows now but I’ve not tried that and it won’t use Windows precision touch like is built into the laptops. No externals do that I’ve tried. It’s very frustrating. I’m still using a Logitech K830 on my theatre gaming PC but it’s not “nice” and I also added a wireless mouse
@@netcruzer I just took a look at the Logitech K830 keyboard/touch pad combo you mentioned, and an obvious question [for me] comes to mind. The image I saw shows a left-button and a right-button below the smallish track pad itself. Assuming that this is what you have, those two buttons indicate to me that the touch pad has no "click" capability. Am I right about that? If I am, couldn't one move a cursor, via the touch pad, over, let's say, a section of text, press down the left-button, and drag a finger tip to highlight the text that one might wish to copy? Employing the same thinking, couldn't one move a cursor, once again via the touch pad, and use the right button to activate a combination dialog box that allows one to paste the text into the desired location? I understand you about not being able to perform certain functions, like a two-finger zoom, with the touch pads on these external keyboards, but what I'm much more interested in, by far, is avoiding the maddening finger tip "click" activation one commonly experiences with these knock-off Apple wannabe "touch pads." I trust that you understand where I'm going with this.
Thank you for this review.
I still cant find a keyboard with a touchpad that works. It's like they do not support multitouch or theres a massive lag all the time.
Hi, is this keyboard suitable and compatible with Huawei T5 10.1 Android tablet?
It's now 2022. Is there any keyboard with trackpad out there that does what you want it to do?
Nope
Thank you for your review 👌
Cool vid - was gonna buy this but glad I watched this.
Been looking for the exact same thing. Do these still not exist?
Sadly they do not... still.
still looking for the same thing, a touchpad with precision!!! drives me crazy that there’s little to nothing in the market, how can this be??
Does k2600 support windows 7?a1
OMG this video.. finally I see someone talking about the exact same thing I was wondering for a year.
Did you found one that works with PTP driver ?
No, best ‘feel’ touchpad on a media keyboard for me so far has been Logitech K830. Still doesn’t use precision touch. 😖
@@netcruzer Is the touchpad on the k830 better than the k400? I'm using the k400 now and I hate it... I'd upgrade to the k830 if it's better, though. The most responsive trackpad I've been able to find is the logitech t650, but it's a standalone (no keyboard).
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I have one of these keyboards and this morning I almost broke it in half. It drives me nuts. The touchpad is so sensitive that it's always left clicking and is literally unusable.
You'v had a bad number : the one I just received works perfectly even crosoft functionality... under Linux.
I’m looking for a KEYBOARD illuminated Bluetooth with Touchpad. But I don't find any on the market except Corsair k83 or Logitech k830 If you know any could you comment please :)
K830 still seems like the one to get. Been that way for years.
I have tried the hack in the past to force the precision driver onto the system, however while the driver installs, it doesn't recognize the touchpad as being compatible with the driver. I am using a K400+, I would like to know if anyone has tried the same with the Microsoft version.
Didn’t work I’ve never been able to get precision drivers working on any media keyboard.
@@netcruzer that's what I figured. It seems like such a missed opportunity for the media keyboard manufacturers to get more functionality out of their touchpads.
Also in case you're interested, I found a chinese manufacturer that makes PTP touchpads (standalone and keyboard). They're called Youngmax (or pc-youngmax, dunno) and the products in question are the KP-06 V2 and TP02. They have a TH-cam channel with three videos showing the keyboard and the touchpad.
If you go to their website then don't bother with the english version of it, you're better of using Google Translate instead.
No clue where one could buy one, I looked on AliExpress, Alibaba, Taobao and so on but no hits. Google searches didn't yield anything fruitful either.
P.S. They might be the OEM for the Arkscan TP01 standalone touchpad which is a PTP touchpad as well.
Hi, this is the keyboard I am looking for as well. I have sent them an email, waiting for their reply. I will update what I will get here.
@@stevenz1276 hey there, did you get an answer?
@@nischiita Hi I actually got the reply from them. They said thanks for the interest and the products have not been launched yet. Then I followed up but no reply since then.
@@stevenz1276Well, looks like they won't launch it then... I do really need a good external trackpad or keyboard with trackpad for my setup for university... have my surface book for taking notes per hand but because of that, im not able to use the keyboard but i need to be able to move things on my secondary screen...
Any ideas?
Pls notify, if you get an answer from them 🙃
Could it be that the keyboard is faulty? Man I've been looking for such keyboard too for my desktop pc since I'm getting wrist pain from using normal mouse. Coming from long time use of Macbook Pro touchpad, my expectation is most certainly high and I was close to purchasing that Microsoft keyboard before I watched this video. Thanks for the heads up. Have you found one yet though?
MY REVIEW: As I am typing on the same garbage that you review, I hate it... I wanted a more compact office keyboard, which it is, but no one should buy it for this reasons. Better buy it for what you use it. Stabilization is dogshit, that makes it super loud, of course very wobbly too, but its the same amount as my basic Dell keyboard. Keys for some reasons are huge and next each other (got used to it), which amplifies the annoying wobble. The most horrible thing is that the primary function of the F1-12 buttons is the media control and that CANNOT be switched. I cant refresh a page with F5 without pressing the Fn button too (for example).
The trackpad - OH GOD WHYYY?! It needed (as Alex from LTT says) finger grease (I used forehead grease, its up to you lol) to actually be usable.. jk, its still horrendous. If your finger is not exactly horizontal - it will not detect properly and it will skip. And its physically not possible to hold your fingers like that. Also its sooo slow... I am used to a fast mouse and it takes ages to move the cursor with this crap.
I used this Rapoo keyboard for 2 years. Its aboslutely terrible, same gripes with it as you, although with patience you can adjust your behaviour so that it doesnt suddenly stop functioning. But anyway, mine just broke, prematurely imo. Worked monday, the following friday: nothing. Thanks, i wanted to see a comparison between this and MS AIO MK. i got that :)
Why aren't they all illuminated keys?
6:35 This Keyboard DOES NOT have Precision Drivers Support.
Can I connect it to ps4
I wonder if the K400 knows these gestures nowadays?
Also i need one without a dongle, one that connects using Bluetooth directly.
That’s easier to find Bluetooth models but none have precision touchpads. Logitech K830 or similar.
I again, looked around and found this, Brydge 10.5 Go+ Wireless Keyboard with Precision Touchpad. Precision Touchpad... this could be the end of your searching 🤔
this one are for Surface Go rite? Can it be used for other window laptops?
@@moj982 as long as it's a Windows, surely you can pair it.
Use the old driver (10.0.19041.1) not more setting but more low senssibility.... 😜
the microsoft one is excellent, have 2 and they still work great
looks like there still isn't a rival after what, must be a decade by now
best keyboard trackpad video
So, did you find a keyboard with a proper precision touchpad? I just bought the Logitech K830 and surprise surprise, it does not have the precision touchpad. According to windows, it does not have a touchpad at all. Going from a real precision touchpad laptop to a fake touchpad such as this is a pretty terrible experience. And yet they still charge a premium price for this device...
Nope I never found a keyboard with precision touchpad. Nobody makes them and I don't know why!
@@netcruzer How do you like the apple trackpad and keyboard? Do you use magic utilities? magicutilities.net/ This seems to be the best option for a trackpad+keyboard on windows. I noticed you had one in the video. Does it work well? I used to use a TK820, but they never updated the software to support windows 10, so it was stuck with only windows 8 gestures. I've been thinking about an apple trackpad + keyboard with a support piece to combine them.
@@netcruzer I second rjsmith2007's question. Have you tried your Apple keyboard and trackpad on Winods with magicutilities? I've seen you can get a frame that also holds the keyboard and trackpad together so that could be a viable solution as a 'media' keyboard/touchpad combo.
It's unfortunate that there's still nothing better available. I've been using a Logitech K830 for years and it's really not great. I was researching to buy something new when I stumbled on your video. I guess there's just not much of a market for this type of keyboard? Because the same old junk has been available with no real improvements for many years :(
Edit: Just found the Corsair K83 and it looks like it might be a bit of an improvement. I think I'll buy one and give it a go. I'll try and remember to report back if it's decent.
How did it turn out for you?
@@jessl1934 It's pretty good overall. Definitely not perfect but I retired the Logitech K830 in favor of the Corsair. I like the typing feel and the keys way more than the Logitech. The trackpad on the Corsair is more precise and controls better on a large screen.
But strangely enough I had to uninstall the Corsair software and use Bluetooth to get the best experience. The keyboard has some weird quirks and the software sucks. I ditched the 2.4GHz wireless receiver and the software altogether. The trackpad on the Corsair is also pretty small. Wish it was bigger. The battery life also sucks.
Even with those drawbacks the Corsair K83 is the best wireless keyboard with trackpad I've come across. I have tried several and I'm not %100 happy with any of them.
@@Brian.M Thanks for the review!
How frustrating that the user experience is still so flawed, especially at this price point. I think I'm going to get one based on your review despite the flaws.
@@jessl1934 No problem, I hope it works out for you.
OMG "Logitech Wireless All-In-One Keyboard TK820" I wonder if this has a good touch pad. But it is $320 new old stock on Newegg. I just want a good touchpad on a wireless keyboard. IDK why it's so much to ask.
try Logitech K830 Illuminated
Since making this video I got a K830 and have used it for years. It still is NOT Windows Precision Touch and doesn't have the same gestures as native windows touchpads, but it's best I've found for an all-in-one keyboard.
Its end of 2020, I'm typing this with my old Logitech K400+ which has a subpar trackpad. I have the microsoft keyboard in my shopping cart, but can't really justify buying another one of those.
DID ANYBODY MAKE A BETTER KEYBOARD?
Logitech K830 is best I’ve found, still doesn’t have windows precision touch or gestures.
Is k400 plus works smoothly? Should i buy it?
you saved my money
Touchpad micro soft not good ??? i see
Wow was that a big movie screen I couldn’t imagine my ugly mug on that big screen when u watch my vids, lol! Man I’m tech dummy, ur very good with this tech stuff, nice new typewriter, I don’t even see the spot for ur paper!?! 😆
I know ur Canadian but I’m from the US-A not the USB!
100” of STEVO D! Haha 😆. Yeah I’ve always been a computer nerd enthusiast. I can’t code but building and configuring and fixing computers was my hobby and then my job for many years.
Its been 4 years. There is still no keyboard with the requisite touchpad.
Sad isn’t it.
@@netcruzer Ofcourse. Considering the improvements made in the laptop space, where we have the quality of surfaces improving, I was hoping some manufacturer would bring about a winner. Most of the peripheral brands still resting on their 5 year old products.
Might be a shitty wireless Tx/Rx implementation on it which causes those unresponsive and click'n'drag problems.
But anyways, thanks for the review and headsup not to buy one.
Just built a media/gaming pc, and oh my god, why the hell cant windows get its shit together?
Been using a MacBook for work for years, and this whole gaming/media PC build has just made it that much clearer that Windows is held together by the code equivalent of zip ties and duck tape.
Solutions to most problems aren't actual solutions so to speak, they're workarounds that circumvent some pedantic forced functionality or lack of functionality in the windows operating system. Even the visual interfaces isn't actually a program with its own functionality, it's just a fancy registry editor with advanced privileges.
It's like basic things like customizable tiles, or LIKE THIS VIDEO, precision touchpad support is mostly non existent.
I was trying to customize chrome app tiles for my main navigation screen, and apparently Windows ignores the shortcuts and pulls the icon based off of the original exe. Because all the chrome apps run off of chrome, they all had the same icon. And when I changed one with a custom tile editor, they all changed! Same thing with Steam games!
I literally had to write batch files that opened up these apps, then pinned shortcuts to the batch files, then change the icons for those!
But wait! Now User Account Control has to approve the opening of every batch file.
So to circumvent that I have to go into task schedule and create shortcuts with admin privileges.
Now I pin THOSE shortcuts to the start menu and change the image of the tile.
So in the end, I have a shortcut to a shortcut to a shortcut to a shortcut to a shortcut(literally), all so I can choose my own goddamn tile image.
In Mac, all I would have needed to do is either right click -> Get Info -> Change Icon, OR Right Click -> Show Package Contents -> then replace the icon file.
Now I can't even find a program auto-closer/suspender, something that will close/suspend any unfocused app/program that is idle for a set amount of time. With all the power management tools, it blows my mind nothing like that exists.
OR a keyboard shortcut for toggling tablet mode.
Sorry for the rant, but I too am looking for a precision touchpad Keyboard combo, and can't find a goddamn thing for some unfathomable reason and I've had it up to here, and I'm about to just learn programming because I've had it with the lack of forethought on both Microsoft's part, and seemingly every single windows user who doesn't know any better because they worship windows.
I've recently swtiched to the Logitech K830. While it doesn't have true precision touch support, it is a very nice feeling touchpad with kinetic scroll feel. It's better than every other I've tried yet.
Netcruzer RC TECH CARS Haha Thanks for the heads up!
Right now I'm using a Logitech k400+, I wonder if the K830 uses a better track lad or not.
I'm missing Apple's Magic Trackpad functionalities.
u really had to have ur fan on blowing on you while recording a video HUH
4 years later and there still isn’t a good keyboard with this general layout, at least from my research. All the track pads are just so bad.
Yup still an issue. You get good trackpads on laptops, terrible trackpads on all in one media keyboards.
Bro still a problem today wtf
Don't buy this type.
