I didn't use the mic that came with the kit since the car already had hands free built in. Also it would have been a lot more work to fish the cable from the trunk to somewhere in the front that would be useful. I haven't had any problems with both Bluetooth devices connecting to the phone and switching as needed.
Michael Phillips when you phone connects to the bluetooth is it excessively loud? mine makes me jump every time it says connected. I try to keep reminding myself to turn the volume down before turning off the car.
Daniel Truong it does say connected when that input is on but it is not any louder than the other inputs normally. The output from all devices is not equal. Try to see if anything else is louder than normal when you start your car.
Does the Canadians RL have XM? Because I am planning to purchase it but my vehicle from MX does not have the XM button on the radio. If it doesn't have XM how do you operate it? Thx
When u open the passenger door its going to be on the right hand side. You'll see a small removable plastic cover. It requires moving some plastic trim. I was hoping to find a video of it but no luck yet.

Question: Has the nav went black on you? If so, does it connect to your phone automatically? You think I should buy this product? would it last long? how is the sound quality on the stock speakers? If the navigation system is displaying a black screen that is most likely the navigation dvd or the navigation dvd reader. The USA A Spec connects inline and will display as choices on XM 1. If you pay for XM service you can still use the presets for XM 2 to save your stations. Good luck.
A, Alexander it is far more stable than Bluetooth adapters that use rechargeable batteries. I have received disk error or navigation system rebooting over and over. Never a black screen. Are there any other symptoms? Since the car is 15 years old it is not always easy to get support. If you remove the DVD will you get an error?

I know it has Bluetooth, but I use an LG G8 smartphone that has a quad DAC audio jack which really enhances sound, which would make using an aux plug better as far as sound quality. My RL is an '05 and they didn't put an aux port in that year. It was my understanding that the USA spec comes with an aux plug as well. I'm assuming you didn't run it as your '07 already has a factory aux port. Anyways just wondering if the USA Spec comes with an optional aux port in addition to the Bluetooth.
@@map0824 it really doesn't, I wish it did, but you can even read from Acura that they didn't put an aux port in the 2005 RL's. Obviously not the end of the world, as I bought this car used as a commuter. I can't complain either because new they are like 40 grand plus, mine is clean as new, with 120k miles and I paid $4500 so I can't bitch a whole lot......thanks for the reply tho man! @@liveyourlife23 I had a 2005 and this 2007, It has been so long that I am remembering wrong. The main thing that was different in the 2007 that I cared about was the back up camera. I remember using XM radio in my 2005 long before streaming services were available.
@@ChrisJones-pm7mu No. Once you connect the USA Spec in line with your RL radio it should work by tuning the radio to XM 1 preset #1. If you ever sign up for XM service it will still work when you switch to XM 2. Is your phone finding the USA Spec to connect to? Did the cable connect without any issues? It won't let me add a picture.
Has anyone experienced issues with electrical after doing this? I mounted the unit under the CD player in the back and made sure there’s no exposed wires but since I changed it the car hasn’t been starting. And the lights and steering wheel started flashing and glitching like something is shorting

Solution Shad The only difference between 06 and 07 is the back up camera I believe. The XM Radio and all cables, I thought were the same but I could be wrong. Did you contact USASpec?

The car has an AUX input so you can still use it whenever you want to.

It says bt45-hon because it’s the Honda interface but with Acura harness. Hey your bt still working good man?

All Acura RL's have XM that I am aware of starting with 2005 . What year is your RL?

@@GodisGood941 I highly recommend it. It is easy to install and then you can stream bluetooth instead of using a cable witch less phones support.

Yes but when you place your order you will put in your year RL you have so that they will send the unit with the correct cable.
