    Dynamic tessellation is in all the major sculpting programs and even in VR now. Let’s take a look at how Nomad implements it and it’s called Dynamic topology here.

    😮 thank you so much! I'm brand new to sculpting and was getting so mad my characters looked so segmented and smoothing changed the shapes. This helped SO much, thank you!

    Just tried this as saw some decent reviews, thought it would just be another tech demo type of deal, but after testing it out for a couple of hours... this is a really, really nice tool... its solid and the features it has is beyond what I was expecting... Im sold!

    Thanks again for another great vídeo.
    One tip that i found for Blender and it works on Nomad to is to put the "Brush" to 0 strengh and put the level of detail to Constant. This way we can add or remove details to parts without adding or subracting volume and we can control it by changing the Detail slider.
    On Blender os good to do boleans on Nomad o dont know, becouse when we want to do some boolean we need to remesh.
    Well i tested an works better if we use de Zoom instead of Constant and with the Brush strengh to 0

    thank you for the video. But I have a huge missing link concerning Topology in general. I got told from a Company dealing with the Models in Blender, no matter what" the model has to be in Quads no or very few tris", as the models are used for doing a little bit of animation and rendering in Blender. As I come from Fusion 360 (CAD) I try now Nomad to model the things out.
    So the question is, how to retopo in quads without loosing the details, so the model can be used. Maybe this is with a separate video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge

    I wish the Dynamic Topology worled with the Move tool just like in Zbrush so you can extend arms and legs easily from the initial ball.

    Is there a vr sculpting app that is similar to nomad? I’ve used Medium but it’s a different feel like you’re caulking. I could never really sculpt well with it.

    Hello!
    Do you work on iPad?
    Does it support that much mesh?
    The app has been stuck, it doesn't let me paint well, and I don't know if it's because of number of polygons, but If I want a detailed model it has to be large number I guess... Thanks

    Hey everyone Im having trouble finding the backface mask option is this something that exists in Nomad? currently watching through all the videos on the channel so please let me know if this has been covered.

    • @SouthernGFX
      @SouthernGFX  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can show or hide back faces from the ‘display settings’ panel. And your can mask an area and hide it using the mask button bottom left

    • @jaydenhardingArtist
      @jaydenhardingArtist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is front 'Front-Facing vertex only' in the brush menu the same thing?

    • @SouthernGFX
      @SouthernGFX  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jaydenhardingArtist no that’s slightly different. That helps if you are sculpting on something small or thin like a finger. It stops you messing up the back as you sculpt the front.

    Does smooth button still multi-select for anyone? Since the update I can't click smooth selct and the parts on the model to select them quickly like I use to. Now I have to manually do so in the objects menu

    • @missrockcantswim
      @missrockcantswim 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is it letting anyone change their backgrounds or delete them? I don't see the options

      I'm not completely sure what you mean but I'd love to help.

    • @SouthernGFX
      @SouthernGFX  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Change the backgrounds in the 'background' panel at the top. You can have a solid colour, a reference image or a HDRI image. It hasn't changed as far as I can see.

    • @missrockcantswim
      @missrockcantswim 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for replying. I updated and I see the background button options again now. Multi select use to work with the smooth button but hasn't been working yet for me. Maybe its a glitch for now. Also after painting and reopening the file most my objects are shiny when they were painted and saved as matte. Besides these things, I really love this app! I hope it continues to grow and do well. When I have more to show, Ill be tagging nomad sculpt on Instagram :^)

    Hi, could you please sculpt a head with an eye and a nose and color it in one simple video and know the tools you use each time? Thus a step-by-step video without acceleration will greatly help in understanding the application tools and how to use them. Thank you and I hope to continue with the videos that explain the tricks and the method of creativity in sculpting Apps

    Did you use something like Zremesh to get the nice Geometry?

    • @SouthernGFX
      @SouthernGFX  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have retopped this one a few times recently in both Maya and Blender as I'm using him for a few projects. I do use ZRemesher all the time especially when it's not for animated character.

      Only if you understand the different between a voxel remesh and using Dynamic topology. If not, you need the first 3.55 mins for context. Thanks for your kind words.
