She shows her cruelty by not caring, seeing it as a different animal without sentience. Homelander understands what he’s doing and shows he truly cares that it is sentient. His cruelty is intimate.

Agreed. The fame of being in the Seven is literally the only thing that gives Kevin's life any meaning. And, while he knew he would be returning to an abusive situation, his previous experience with the Seven was with Homelander nominally in charge, but Stillwell calling the shots. He probably bore a lot of verbal abuse from Homelander and the others, but nothing like this, which is why he felt powerful enough to rape Annie. He clearly was hoping that he was brought back on the team because Homelander had some newfound respect for him, and that the abuse would therefore be minimized. He also thought his wife would be an ally. All very stupid assumptions, but he's not too bright.

The most scariest and intresting part about Homelander isn’t about how evil he is. But how realistic of a person he truly is. There are genuine people like Homelander who do terrible shit off the cameras but are still idolized and valued.

This sums up the deep’s biggest flaw as a person. He wants redemption, but he does awful things to protect himself from dying or just to give himself pleasure.
Interesting fact: The male Octopus enters a functionally vegetative state once he has mated. Most of the time, he just slowly allows himself to die through either starvation or being eaten. So, Timothy either: Never had kids
Or: Was the most stubborn octopus on planet earth, and potentially even a highly intelligent next step in the evolutionary development of his species
Or Timothy is a girl and there was a miscommunication when the deep named her.

Timothy is undercooked

There is no way Timothy could have kids. Octopus die after mating.
Males do live for a few months after reproducting, also this is a different world, so they could have some that live even longer.
If his communication is telepathically he could have simply told Tim he was just going to swallow him whole and then safely vomit him out soon after.
That’s not how it works. In order for Timothy to survive, he’d have to ingest a ton of water to not only dilute the stomach acid, but to also create an environment Timothy could temporary stay in.
@@azrael557 if you know that I’m sure the deep knows that too so he’d probably do whatever he can to make sure Tim will be safe. At least that’s what I would’ve tried.
