I have seen him live, it was so unbelievable amazing that i will never forget it. This cover band can of course never come close to the real thing but they are good musicians and they play his songs nicely! Since we will never see Prince perform his songs again I would come and watch this bands show! They are doing a good job!

Ive seen some off the wall impersonators,along with some jacked up band members, but i can honestly say that they ALL hit every single note!!! He's very good but he's butchering the vocal in the verses. (As in doin' too damn much.) People wanna hear the song sung the way they know it -- the way it was recorded.
@Steve: First of all, I clearly stated above that I'm talking about the VOCAL. He is butchering the VOCAL. I said nothing about the playing. So of course I can expect him to SING it the way Prince does. (He's supposed to be Prince, right?) There is nothing vocally challenging about that song. So all one has to do is sing-a-along and do what Prince does when he does it: Don't add anything, don't take anything away, and don't move stuff around. (the worst singers in the world do this in their cars every day while driving. It ain't that hard.) As far as the music goes, Purple Rain is a ridiculously simple song to play.That is part of what makes it great. The only challenging part is the lead guitar. And I've heard Prince and many others right here on TH-cam play it verbatim MANY times. (But again, I was NOT talking about the the musicianship.) So long story short , I absolutely expect Purple Rain to sound like Purple Rain as recorded by Prince and the Revolution, when performed by a Prince cover band. That's kind of the point of a Vegas tribute band. If wanted to hear it all fucked up, I could get that on any stage at any open mic on any Tuesday for $2 in any town in America. I don't need to pay 50 to 100 bucks a head to hear that in Vegas.
@Igaveyoumyfakename I totally agree with you. Vocals are distracting, notes are held for too long, have too much 'echo' effect, and he does not sing in the same style. If it's supposed to be a tribute or impersonator then it should be as close to original as possible. If I saw him I would want the most "Prince" experience and what this was was basically him doing his own thing dressed like Prince.
@@precisionbrown6829 What does the sound tech have to do with the singer's bad vocal choices? The amount of echo has nothing to do with the singer CHOOSING to screw-up a well-known melody. So how exactly would "less echo" change that and solve the problem here?
We saw him o. TOM Joyner Cruise and first I really thought it was Prince. He was that good...But his shoes look like they were from Payless. Thats what gave it away.

I spoke with Jason when I saw them in Vegas. He told me that Prince actually saw a tape of their show and gave them his blessing.

My first time seeing this, and I enjoyed it. This was a close rendition... minus the over the top passion (as if it were their last performance).
