I had just returned from Vietnam and had moved into the bachelors officers quarters on Fort Gordon, GA. Walking down a hallway, I heard a Glen Campbell record being played in one of the rooms. I stopped and asked the room owner, "Who's that?" "He's a new guy named Glen Campbell." I went over to the Post Exchange and bought every record by Glen that was out at the time. I still have them. As pure a voice that ever was. He was a world class guitar player. May Glen Campbell Rest In Peace .
Could listen to Glen sing all day long.
I started my passion for music with Glen's singing, listening in the trasmitter room of a Kansas FM station in the 60's. I wish this interview had been more about the music and less about the failures.
It's hilarious how candid he is considering the el-cheapo show.

What an awesome, wonderful guy in a last time happy marriage. Good friends with Alice Cooper, too. Great testimony! Sadly his youngest daughter doesn’t seem to follow his deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

He was an extremely talented man but he knew that he was heading for destruction

I will ALWAYS love Glen and his music but the man just did not seem to have much insight into his own life. I didn't like the blame game stuff, either, it was beneath him. But his talent, his music, charisma and that WONDERFUL voice were unsurpassed. RIP sweet man.
Always wondered why he looked so awkward riding that horse in the Rhinestone Cowboy video, I mean, he grew up deep in the country! Surely he knows how to ride one! Apparently, it's actually because he didn't know how to ride one with a saddle! And they wouldn't let him ride it bare-back! So, he learnt specifically for that video! Neat!
Also, it could just be that trying to sing and focus on controlling the horse at the same time was a bit of a mind-ful.
I so remember when he was going with Tanya Tucker. The whole world was wondering what was he thinking. It was a train wreck waiting to happen.
The train wreck had ALREADY HAPPENED, after he left Sarah (the one who turned him onto hard drugs) Tanya was there to console him, while it was probably more of a gold digger situation, and Glen said that himself in his book, he really did think it was helping him, and he had very high respect for Tanya's singing, even after they were apart, he'd regard her as one of the best female vocalist in country music today, if only he knew how much MORE drugs Tanya had than Sarah... But he was soon to find out.

Yess, came down here to see if someone mentioned that, Glen would've be ashamed! He often regards John Hartford as a cornerstone of his early career! I honestly don't even really like the Jimmy Webb songs most of the time, heck, If anything, I like the songs he wrote himself better!

Completely disagree. I am always happy to see someone delivered from the mire through the power of the Lord. There are scads of musical videos that you can saturate yourself in. I have probably listened to 75% of them so far. And I'll continue to listen to as many as I can click on. But you don't speak for me when you say no one cares about "this stuff." I'm someone, and I care very much. His music is fabulous, but it couldn't save him. Only the Savior could do that, and I'm over the moon happy that he turned back to the Lord.

You are absolutely correct. I have been a big fan of Glen Campbell all of my life. And without a doubt no person as never truly lived until they have accepted Jesus and THE word.

Ha Man I just wish ELVIS could have beat his demons and turned his life around like Glen and been able to live until he was in his early 80s but unfortunately it was not to be. Miss them both
