I am in week 6 of your flexibilty programm and today my sensei (7th dan) said my yoko-geri is super! Thanks man it already has improved my kicks a lot!
I rarely comment but I just wanted to thank Nat for his flexibility program. I'm currently on week 2 and I can already see massive improvements with the strength of my legs as well as their stretchyness if that's a word lol. If you're wondering about getting it then I definitely highly reccomend you purchase it.
I've waited so long for this collab. Nat, your the one who got me into Karate Kyokushin through snapchat and I've learned so much knowledge about Karate through you. Then I met Trevor when you guys collabed on a shorts vid. Trevor you got me into Taekwando. The first video I saw was you doing the Mikey 540 breakdown kick and I've never seen a kick that cool before. I started to learn Taekwando as a side martial art through you and now I'm focusing on both Karate and Taekwando just because of you guys. It has boosted my confidence and not being scared anymore. Thank you guys so much and I hope I learn more from you guys❤❤😊
'This is the one I can never ever do, so we're doing it today' it's a great way to approach training and life obstacles. What a great video, I have learned so much from both of your channels so it's so cool to see yall training together!
Absolutely! I love seeing all you guys (Trevor, you, Joshua, Aaron, Noah) in videos together kicking and learning from each other. For me, as an 18 year old 3 months away from my second degree black belt test, yours and others’ videos give me a lot of inspiration. All of you have helped me big time, can’t wait to see more of these kinds of videos in the future. 🥋👍🏼
As someone who knows how to do 540 hook kick. At 7:53 you’re jumping leg is not coming up enough, but the biggest offender is that you’re shoulder is opening up when you throw the kick (keep the shoulder back and that should give you more control). But you have the hardest part down in my opinion which is kicking before you land.
The instructor has a literal whirlwind sound before he be throwing kicks when he gains momentum, also throwing them so clean- I’ve reminded so many times 😵💫🌪️
That 540 spin kick is my all time favourite to watch I don't have any kicking training, so I guess it will never be more than a kick to watch instead of doing it😂😂
@@Erikah-tl3jm oh ok, I thought its some weird version of taekwondo. Good luck, I find it pretty fun. Lots of flexibility required and stuff like jumping on one leg. Very good balance training. Improved my boxing footwork a lot. I do the itf style but wt (olympic) is alright too
Don't feel bad about it. 540 is nuts but you were getting close, just gotta practice. Also fun fact, my old instructor had us start our Tornado kicks using an inside crescent kick as a jab/means to start the turn for the other two kicks. I found it easier doing it the other way bc that starting crescent always caused me to twist my legs together and fall lol. Just the two? No problem. Starting with that 3rd one? I couldn't get it down to save my life.
It is somewhat comforting to see that even for a naturally gifted kicker like you there is “a lot of frustration” and “practice, practice, practice” involved in perfecting the moves. Truly inspiring, Nat tysm 🫶🏻❣️
I love your videos Nat and it you always seem to get better every video you make. I do taekwondo and even though I don’t do karate I still try to learn some tips off you for example I try to copy your footwork because it’s pretty much on point
Every time you upload a video Im thinking bro I needed this Rlly rlly good video ideas Maybe make some of those ideas a continuous thing on ur channel like sparring ur coach Id love to watch that again Inviting people that do different martial arts Maybe have some rough form of plan what the video series would always entail For example First have a talk Second show some footage of what they do or career and discuss that Pick a topic for that person And then do the general idea for the video I mean u dont have to but that would make it feel like a video series and you could beautifully convert these amazing video ideas into a series so these ideas come back:) U could make several series at once and upload the series u want to do or is more practical to do and no time pressure at all bc u can pick a new video idea or plan ahead ur series and mix it up however you prefer And idk whatever u take off this comment I hope it might give u another great idea U probably even thought of this and are already kind of doing it Like ur short series that targets keyboard warriors Or ur short series where u invite untrained people to teach them a little :)hope u see this
If you can do the 540 round you can do the chambered motion without the round and add the hook kick. The 540 round set up gives you more time in the air for the kick! Good luck 😁
Really great explanation on those kicks!! I might try some spinning back kick variation or some roundhouse set up variation play with it a little but its gonna take me some time
Could you tell us how you became so flexible to be able to do these high kicks without pain or discomfort? Did you do specific stretches? Tell us please
I trained itf taekwondo until green belt back then and nowdays i do kyokushin karate (currently blue belt), sometimes i think i'd like to go back to taekwondo to help compliment my kicks and footwork, but after so long i would have to learn all over again, stuff like the forms and all of that, so i don't know if i would be using the same green belt or i'd go back to white belt lol. Anyway, for the moment i will stick to only karate for a while, and then i'll see about complimenting my karate with other styles
I can’t believe it, boys the karate guy actually landed a kick I’m pretty sure that goes against their contacts rules. (this comment was sent by the Taekwondo gang)
I've been sick since Dec so I haven't practiced Nat's program. But man this brings me to my initial McDojo days. That said I can do the 360 to the midsection and the double back kick. In fact I'm known for the double back in my dojo. The 360 Hop Spin Hook I do more of a 360 Hop Spin Back Kick to the mid section or 360 Hop Spin Crescent kick. But my Crescent Kick version doesn't land.
I too am a shotokan practitioner .. never seem to get the 540 spin, that double pump seems impossible. The rest of the kicks come effortlessly, they become smooth with practice.
I've been doing taekwondo itf for like 9 years and it is amazing! I think it's a great idea to start. Just try to be open, don't be afraid to make mistakes, and if you have a lot of clubs close to you, try them all so you can find the environment that is best for you! If you have any questions you can also ask me haha:) Good luck!!
spinning back kick because more of the energy from the turn is retained in the motion. the way I've seen and used the spinning side kick is more so to keep the opponent guessing and control the distance than giving the side kick more power
Mae Geri, Fumikomi Geri, Mikazuki Geri. Yoko Geri keage against the short rips or the armpit. Ushiro Geri. Mawashi Geri with the toes to the short rips or as a low kick to the thighs. It's only a matter of time before people start making music edits of you, Trevor, Josh, and everyone you collaborated with.
Every time you upload a video Im thinking bro I needed this
Rlly rlly good video ideas
Maybe make some of those ideas a continuous thing on ur channel like sparring ur coach Id love to watch that again
Inviting people that do different martial arts
Maybe have some rough form of plan what the video series would always entail
For example
First have a talk
Second show some footage of what they do or career and discuss that
Pick a topic for that person
And then do the general idea for the video
I mean u dont have to but that would make it feel like a video series and you could beautifully convert these amazing video ideas into a series so these ideas come back:)
U could make several series at once and upload the series u want to do or is more practical to do and no time pressure at all bc u can pick a new video idea or plan ahead ur series and mix it up however you prefer
And idk whatever u take off this comment I hope it might give u another great idea
U probably even thought of this and are already kind of doing it
Like ur short series that targets keyboard warriors
Or ur short series where u invite untrained people to teach them a little
:)hope u see this
