This was really interesting to watch! I just got my 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo, so seeing the similarities and differences between the two styles was sick
@@adhyatmachetna I was thinking the same, it's a shame TKD is so well known for giving out more belts than , cause it's either a really impressive feat (if you've been studying for decades and only just got 3rd degree) or really worthless McDojo points, (3rd degree black belts handed out at the end of year 1)

Amazing vid, it’s nice to see a colab with another martial artist and it’s in a long video, couldn’t have gone better. Great video Nat, Merry Christmas and a happy new year 🎉
In my younger days i did some fighting styles, including kyokushin. We always used to hold the pands square agsinst the chest, arms aroubd the pad to hold it. In zenkitsu dachi with no bounce back. No arms or air between chest/ belly to damp the impact. The reason for that was to condition the upper body against impacts. You also should train a breathing technique to be able to take much harder shots. Sounds like kung fu magic, but it isnt. All full contact fighting styles do it, including kick and thai- boxing.
I am currently doing taekwondo and it is incredible, after I want to start karate or Mauy Thai, but you did a great job with this video, keep up the great work!
@@Ninjo.____. I would definitely recommend it I’m 13 too, and it really helps, it helps you lose weight and gain muscle, it help you learn respect, while still teaching you self defense. It’s a great hobby and I would definitely recommend, thanks for asking!
Obviously, both of you are very good on your feet. It wouldn't hurt you to learn collar tie, over-underhook, duck under, throw by, arm drag, and similar grappling moves.
Hey! I do the takwondo karate with ‘me sister and her friend. Karate is very fun even though I started last Wednesday. I love doing it, it’s a very fun experience to do and learn all of these kicks, punches, and side kicks.
As a taekwondo guy It's really interesting to see you two try to do grappling with each other. me and my friend who also do martial art we actually once tried to fight each other by using judo techniques.i didn't learn judo that much cuase it didn't seen very interesting but I thought my friend some moves and techniques from what I had learned in judo. and then we just started to throw of each other.didnt work much but had fun 😅
The wrist releases (japyesol tae), limb manipulation (found in uke waza/Maki in TKD) etc from both karate and Taekwondo kata would help a *lot* with grappling entries - would be interesting to see if you guys continued to work on your Randori/grappling/tegumi
This video makes me feel like I’m good at kicking never taken any martial art or anything in my life and already can do lots of the things you are doing as black belts I’m going to start karate and taekwondo now thank you for the great video
I’d like to see a light sparring video between you guys. I have seen a few videos between the styles, but I’d still like to see a little bit of light sparring.

That 100% punch looked more like 85 or 90. But I mean, I get it, not easy to hit a friend on a full 100% of your capacity, it's like you have something preventing you to. Good demonstration there, fellas!

It is suggested that Nat's speaking speed can be slower, or the words can be pronounced more clearly , because sometimes the system cannot recognize what you say , and cannot display subtitles. Every time I watch you take a long video , I think you seem to be very nervous when speaking 😂 , try to relax ( Nat's expression of suddenly not knowing what to say ☺️ and the look of knocking on the wall with gloves are so cute ☺️ )
The style of martial art doesn't matter as much as the SCHOOL. if your school is testing every month, and there's 30 black belts in your school.... You're in the wrong school. I've practiced both, and it took me 5 years to get a black belt in Shotokan and 4 to get one in TKD. And now, I practice neither and take Hapkido! lol
due to a slight condition i never really can do kicks well so if i ever get into a martial art its gonna be mixed and more punches than kicks. i got no belt but this was interesting to watch.
In the beginning, you say karate and taekwondo are similar. No wonder, because taekwondo is karate mixed with the local Korean tradition of taekkyon, a kicking art similar to capoeira.
