The one thing I love about you guys is that, you promote Africa, while channels like "African Diaspora Channel" they are only focusing on South Africa..
It is a great delight to watch you all enjoy yourselves, meet new people, and eat delicious food. The people of Zambia have such beautiful skin and ultra-friendly.
Just wanted to add while Zambia is safe there is need to take precaution and familiarize one self with which areas are safe and not, do your due diligence with the people you mix with and the right times and places you go especially in the evenings.

My first time in Zambia to see someone start with vagitable in hands take it to the Shima then eat. Wow! American invention...welcome to Zambia! I enjoy your vlogs.
The word nshima is actually the Zambian English name. The name of nshima in the Bemba language to which Bwalya the restaurant owner is from, is ubwali. So it is the same pronunciation as the Kenyani ugali, the only difference is the first two letters & the first three in the Zambian word. Ubwali - syllables pronunced as Uu-bwa-li.

This is one of the best videos from Zambia that I have watched. The food is nice & Bwalya & her sister are what we would call as fair dinkum here. I hope I shall try to find their restaurant next time I come there.
Family y'all please take it easy on that Nshima😀 its a trap. Once it enters your system it becomes very hard to survive without it. Otherwise glad you are enjoying the food much love..
Absolutely, I agree with you 100 per cent. That 's the food Zambian people have grown up on. You can go anywhere in the world try different world cuisines but I for one always goes back to my number love food...nshima & always miss it when I go for months without eating it.

All organic. Zambia is only one of two African countries that doesn’t allow GMO food. It sneaks in with processed food imported from South Africa. Traditional food is pretty much 100% organic. To be honest that’s what saved us (and other Africans) from being wiped out by COVID (except South Africa where most of their food is GMO and/or full of chemicals).
Buka Buka does get much larger than that one, next time you go to a Zambian restaurant you ask for dry Mpulungu Kapeta, prepared by someone who knows how to cook you might even like it just as much asMukeke, maybe even more. Another food that is a must is CHIKANDA , exclusive to Zambia and extremely mouthwatering. I agree with Ella - Zambian traditional food is simply the best.
@@bartonlloyd1616 I remember when I was in school we would bring nshima and have it for lunch break after that we would doze in class especially during physics 😂

Seeing you eating with your hands...I remember that we used to tease one of our sisters that she liked to eat with her hands. And also I remember one time in Curaçao a friend of my work invited me at his home and they offered me a delicious lunch with fish, funchi (cooked cornmeal) with plenty fried plantains. I was waiting for them to come and join me, but my food started to get cold, so I started eating and after that I still did not see them so I brought my plate to the kitchen and saw them all sitting on the floor enjoying their food eating with their hands, I told them I could not wait any longer for them and they answered me we are sorry not to join you cause we eat with our hands...so great to see you Americans adjusting to their culture, I wish I could be there too👏😍

@@africaine4889 that's not true. Zambia has not been separated from Congo by colonisation. It's clear your parents/grandparents didn't talk to you about your history. Zambians who have roots in Kongo, (and i say 'Kongo' because that was once the name of the large area which included Congo and part of Angola. ) migrated themselves to get away from the King or other reasons like disagreements with others. No white man was involved with that migration 🙄 and it happened before they discovered that part of Africa. Not all Zambians have that ancestry. We are a mix of Soth African ancestry, etc. We may have similarities but you can't claim Zambian culture is exactly like Congolese. You can always pick the difference between a Zambian and Congolese especially if you're abroad.
