Some the tools doesn't seem to work in SketvchUp Pro 2023 or is it just me? Polyline Divide for Animation (can not drawr it from scratch. Uniifrom B-Spline draw the same spline dispite the set parameters (0-100)....
Hi Creator, just curious, after going thru this tutorial properly, i am confused if its worth investing in added plugin called Fredo Spline, when i have this Bezier spline already purchased....Does Fredo Spline have any additional benefits to invest 25 USD?
TutorialsUp videos are like bible for Sketchup plugins......six years old video and now i know that a curve once drawn can be gone back to editing by pressing the edit button.... Thanks for makig these videos....else we would be really lost. Just curious, how do U come to know all the features fisrt hand? Do u get a training from the devs of the plugins?
Sure In SketchUp, select Window > Extension Manager. The Extension Manager window appears. Click the Install Extension button. In the Open dialog box that appears, navigate to the .rbz file saved to your computer, select the file, and click OK (Microsoft Windows) or Open (Mac OS X). click Yes to proceed and install your extension.
Hi!! an amazing video! really helpful, but i have one of question: a) i don't get the difference between catmull spline, cubic bezier curve and F-spline, for me it seems like they do the same thing. Can someone explain me the difference please?
recommend u to read the manual written by the developer in the plugins forums, i'll give u a hint "Catmull-Rom spline is very similar to the Cubic Bezier (though based on a very different algorithm), but a little bit closer to the polygon of control points. So to be used for rounding angles rather than to smooth a complete Polyline." "F-SPLINE This is actually a Uniform B-Spline curve of order 3 that is adjusted to pass through the control points. The general shape of the generated curve is much smoother than Cubic Bezier and Catmull-Rom. The other advantage is that the Precision parameter corresponds to the Total number of segments of the generated curve."
It's so dumb, why not just make it built in so you can draw vector / splines like every other software program since forever. Pretty sure they had that option.
