Installed my tow mirrors today. Bought the dual function module from BOOST automotive to get LED to light up on dome/reverse/key fob activation. The mirrors look good and work good. The LED is bright and lights up side of truck. Routing wires was easy. Finding correct wire in harness to connect to input was a bit of a problem but used a butt connector to splice wire for module. Used trailer backup fuse slot for add a fuse.
Good video man, I’m doing my Tow Mirrors this weekend, I’m hoping I can do all the wire routing and all that comes out well, also looking to do a diy video. Thanks for the step by step demo
Chrome matches the chrome on the bumpers, grille, and milled accents on the wheels really well! I'm planning to get these with switchbacks at some point
You are a beast to even have the patients to wire that all through the nice clean way you did but being that your truck only has the chrome grill I think the plastic ones looked better because they matched the fender flares
I think painting the big top chrome piece black, so that there is only the small bottom chrome trim on the mirror, and adding the Escalade style chrome grab handles to the door handles would be the perfect accents to tie it all in together.
Looks great man. I just installed the chrome with clear strip on my 07 LBZ silver birch metallic. I saw your other video with the high output light upgrade so I went ahead and ordered them with that and the running lights/turn signal option. I love them. Now it’s time to buy a Dremel and get those puppy dogs leveled! Thanks for the awesome videos!
Looks alot better than i thought it would. I blacked out my whole duramax so I would probably go with black instead of chrome caps. Still looks really good. 👍
Looks damn good man! I’m not much of a chrome guy myself and those still look good. Stuck between getting primered ones for paint match and chrome after seeing yours!
Since you have the chrome grille, then yes, the chrome capped mirrors match the truck good. I have a 1990 K3500 Dually that I replaced the grille with the 454SS black grille, so I opted for the black mirrors for mine.
GMT 800 Fuse Block organization makes me jealous! My GMT400 is not so straight forward so my reverse lights on my mirrors are still inop. That smoked chrome is wicked looking!
Yep, that's exactly where I'll go. Just need to quit being lazy and get the next major lighting upgrade done. Parts are all on the shelf waiting for me to quit screwing around with the house projects. It's sad, I know.
I love those mirrors man. Have the same ones on my truck. Only thing I have a problem with them is when they fold in back towards truck. If they get moisture in and then it’s cold like where we live they don’t like to fold😀
looks awesome! not to mention function. how is it backing at night the lights in the mirror look to have like a visor on them. keep the light out of your eyes? Great video as usual!
I own a 07 lbz black crew cab I'm trying to keep a balance of chrome and black. After the iron cross black bumpers I got I would go black amber on the mirrors. But they are sick anyway
Another option for use of the back up LEDs on the mirror, my truck had the factory puddle lights on the bottom of the OEM mirrors. I just hooked them to that, so now when I get out of the truck it lights up everything while walking to the house. Just a suggestion for those who have that option and don't want to run wires
looks awesome with chrome. chome handles probably would help throw it all together. Also get ur self a back up camera that mounts to ur license plate. i assume u could use ur headunit as a display?
Nice video👍🏻Looks great! I think the chrome works for your truck since you already have chrome bumpers and steps. I need to update my mirrors with a pair of those.
Looks good think I’m gonna get them for my 13 Denali 2500 I would have done the turn signals on the front side of the mirrors as well not just running lights, but in all looks great.
I bought some and mine already had power mirriors. I got a grey, white, and blue wire. Not sure what the blue wire goes to. My blinkers and power mirriors work just off my factory plugs
I noticed on mine, and hope you have so insight about it. Why do the mirrors still sit so close and angle in so far? Can’t get my mirrors adjusted out far enough, they go out as far as they could and still can’t see properly.
I'm up in the air on the chrome.... I like the fact that it doesn't look like plastic, but I'm not a chrome kinda guy... I'd have to see it in person. I do like smoke Stainless Steel, so I might like them in person...
Nice I'm looking for the same tow mirrors but motorized so I can fold them in when parking on a street. I have a 08 Duramax ltz that has the button but the current tow mirrors don't fold.
I have a 2008 Duramax with tow mirrors on them already. I just bought the upgraded ones because of your video. I have a question about the defrost though. How do you turn the defrost off and on? Great video as always bro. I did some research on the company’s web page and it said that if your truck has a rear defroster already that the mirrors defroster will work with that switch.
How did you run the Clearance (White) Into the Fuse box? Directly into the Fuse? And did you put a 20 Fuse into the BU slot??? If so, why I am having trouble with mine, but I believe I got a faulty Passenger side Mirror.
Truck master I have a question I have a 05 duramax and it’s a LLy and it did not come with the tow mirrors but they are power mirrors I got me a pair or tow mirrors that are power with the blinker built in them now since mine did not have blinkers from the factory will I have to wire the knew ones up or should they still work
Looks great the way you have it, ? I have a Gmc k1500 1999 with th 98 body style, my stock mirrors are power only ? When I put towing mirrors on do I half to do power only or can I go for more, I would like to have what you put on but if I can’t then I would like at least Power + Heated can this be done as a DYI or not Thanks Gene
Hey Gene! Shoot us a message on Facebook or an email at sales@boostautoparts.com and we can go over the options. We can get you set up with instructions for install.
You plan on doing any front end work in the spring? Would like to see a front end refresh video. I did G2 tie rods but I need to do a steering box and idler/pitman arms. Keep up the good work! 😎
Did your stock mirrors have the defrost option? I Wanted to upgrade to these, but my stock mirrors aren't heated, was wondering if and how it's possible to wire the heated option.
Truck Master One side note also, love the fact you still interact with comments even if you already have 15k followers. A lot of channels stop after a few thousand which I find really sad. So keep up the good work.
+Huber's Ranch its tough to stay on top of them since I get 100s a day but I always think it’s important to keep the interaction much appreciated thanks
When you add the washers to level the mirror does it make the mirror loose or allow it to shake more going down the road as you are pulling away from the support at the top side?? Just asking so i know before starting mine this next week. They look great otherwise.
@@Hunter-ld7nr I had to get some soft plastic to make a shim for the pivot arm to tighten it up. After washers if was loose so i put it back to the way it was before until i got some plastic strips to cut and make an added shim around the pivot arm.
Those mirrors always bring a better look to the classic body styles. Order mine last night
I totally agree
Great job 👍 I couldn't help but notice the screaming eagle sign on the wall first strike thank you for your service

YES!! They look great on your truck as well
Great tutorial as always man! I glued my washers togethers when I leveled my mirrors!
+JW Montoya that’s a great idea I didn’t think about that
Why didn’t you install the dual function module so the LED lights up when you get out or when you use the FOB? (Dome light usage)
Good video man, I’m doing my Tow Mirrors this weekend, I’m hoping I can do all the wire routing and all that comes out well, also looking to do a diy video. Thanks for the step by step demo
I like the chrome. It gives style points like a Sierra has.
Chrome matches the chrome on the bumpers, grille, and milled accents on the wheels really well! I'm planning to get these with switchbacks at some point
+_classic419 thanks!
Diggin the chrome. Looks great.
+Connor James thanks
Truck looks great! Appreciate the tip on how to level the mirrors because I'm looking crazy after I put my mirrors on!
+sappado no problem take care
Just ordered my 2015 style tow mirrors for my lbz! So excited.
Congrats
I'm about to install mine today. I think I will add the leveling washers before I install them.
You are a beast to even have the patients to wire that all through the nice clean way you did but being that your truck only has the chrome grill I think the plastic ones looked better because they matched the fender flares
+Nick Hehir your not kidding that took a lot of effort thanks brother
Another great video! You're my favorite Duramax TH-camr! Keep up the great work, brother!
+Anthony Webb I really appreciate that it’s tough making videos but very fun doing them
I dig the chrome. Gonna need to get a set of these on my truck.
I love the dmax even more now
They look great. I think I’ll pick up a set. Just the right amount of chrome for accent. Good job man!!
+Pianoman thanks
New year, new music!! I like it!
+Max Remmey thanks for the compliment I’m trying to switch things up
Bless you for leveling them. So many guys leave them all winged up 🤦
I leveled mine, but found that when you do the they are no longer sturdy. They now are loose and shake. I do a lot of off-road driving. Poor design!
Looks great I have the same set but have not yet installed them I suck at wiring
I think painting the big top chrome piece black, so that there is only the small bottom chrome trim on the mirror, and adding the Escalade style chrome grab handles to the door handles would be the perfect accents to tie it all in together.
There is a good amount of chrome and that smoked chrome is the best of both worlds! Lol
+Philip Castillo I think so to hope things are going good man take it easy
Truck Master things are going great it's the best decision I make and thank you again!
Looks great man. I just installed the chrome with clear strip on my 07 LBZ silver birch metallic. I saw your other video with the high output light upgrade so I went ahead and ordered them with that and the running lights/turn signal option. I love them. Looks alot better than i thought it would. I blacked out my whole duramax so I would probably go with black instead of chrome caps. Still looks really good. 👍
+Denzel Poole it was risky going with chrome but I’m glad I did it take care man
Looks damn good man! I’m not much of a chrome guy myself and those still look good. Stuck between getting primered ones for paint match and chrome after seeing yours!
+EL BEE ZEE thanks for the input
love the video, helped me out with the small caps not fitting on the outside of the mirrors
Chrome looks awesome
Awesome step by step as always. Looking to do this on my 2007.5 lmm
Just ordered these and they are already here. I’m excited about installing these. Thanks for the how to vid bro!

Looks awesome. I need those with power fold and power extend. Love your channel bro.
+FireBrew63 thanks man
Im not a fan of chrome, but those mirrors bring a good contrast of chrome and black to the truck
+Kyle Zerafa very true
I got the same in black...hopefully it works the same way on my lmm, great videos!
GMT 800 Fuse Block organization makes me jealous! My GMT400 is not so straight forward so my reverse lights on my mirrors are still inop. That smoked chrome is wicked looking!

Love it !! I have to get those smoked lenses for my truck now.
+3500 HD I’m glad I went with them
I love those mirrors man. Have the same ones on my truck. Only thing I have a problem with them is when they fold in back towards truck. If they get moisture in and then it’s cold like where we live they don’t like to fold😀
+Triple H Vids I noticed the gap I hope I don’t have that problem in the future thanks!
This video helped me 100% thank you a lot!
No problem
Looks awesome. The chrome goes well with your truck
looks awesome! not to mention function. how is it backing at night the lights in the mirror look to have like a visor on them. keep the light out of your eyes? Great video as usual!
+Trukin Timmer Duramax the light affects nothing I was thinking the same thing great point
Mirrors are bad ass! Love the content I just a 07 lbz love all the helpful hints and tips 👍👍👍
Nice work they look good on there and before I forget again thank you for your service 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice. I’m getting these for sure. Thank you for doing such a detailed video. Nice!!!
+Jessup Merrill no problem this job took a while
Just ordered mine, I went with color matched caps. And they look amazing just waiting to get the truck back from paint so I can level them
+Brandon Boyd congrats it’s going to look awesome
Yessir I believe so, send some pictures your way when it's all buttoned up
Thanks for the video it is the most detailed video how to do this on TH-cam
+paneled pack awesome man that’s what I was going for
Very good job ! Going to install mines tomorrow great video !
+Floyd Turner that’s awesome good luck and thanks
Look nice man. You have made it into a pretty nice build
+Cody Cozad thanks brother
Looks great!!!! Gonna look for some for mine now
+Jeff Taylor thanks
Most definitely
A great choice
Looks slick

+jclark I could but I plan on using my edge cts2 monitor for that
Purchased the same except chrome and smoked strip for my black LBZ.
Sexy truck. Ever though about getting different style fender flares or doing no flares at all?
Nice video👍🏻Looks great! I think the chrome works for your truck since you already have chrome bumpers and steps. I need to update my mirrors with a pair of those.
+5280 Jeff that’s man they would look great on your truck
Thanks for the vid! Been waiting on this one. (with the wiring) the chrome would look outstanding smoked or black chrome.
Looks good think I’m gonna get them for my 13 Denali 2500 I would have done the turn signals on the front side of the mirrors as well not just running lights, but in all looks great.
+A Gordon your truck would look nice with a set of these
Looks really really good man keep the hard work you doing good job
+Tito Garcia thanks
I bought some and mine already had power mirriors. I got a grey, white, and blue wire. Not sure what the blue wire goes to. My blinkers and power mirriors work just off my factory plugs
Looks killer
Great videos. Love the new mirrors. You need more lighting in the garage and some heat.
+RC4X4 I couldn’t agree more I’m looking at a wood stove but I will get more lights soon
I would have gotten all black mirrors and it’s time for a steel front bumper.
+paint3ball yep 👍 unfortunately I have to save up for a bumper cant wait
They look great. Do they pull out so you get a better look down the trailer side?
+brian phelps yes
Great, I'll be gettin those. Thanks.
What a great looking truck!
I noticed on mine, and hope you have so insight about it. Why do the mirrors still sit so close and angle in so far? Can’t get my mirrors adjusted out far enough, they go out as far as they could and still can’t see properly.
Looks great! I think you should get chrome outside door handle covers to match it too!
😅😅😅😅😅
Looks great. Did you use 2 add a fuse or just 1? Sorry I’m new to wiring
Looks amazing man always great tutorials 👌🏼🤘🏼
+Joey Ioffredo I really appreciate that
Looks great. I’m looking to do the same.
I'm up in the air on the chrome.... I like the fact that it doesn't look like plastic, but I'm not a chrome kinda guy... I'd have to see it in person. I do like smoke Stainless Steel, so I might like them in person...
Nice truck. Do you have mirror shaking after the level? I think boost even warns of it on their website as a possible side effect of leveling
I’d paint the chrome honestly the when those are painted to match its sooo much nicer
+waldroop11 if my truck was red I would totally do that
Truck Master is still paint it the black color of the truck chrome is just too much of a grandpa color to me I think the blacked out look is sweet
Looks really good!
How did you use the red and black wire from the beginning of the video?
Nice I'm looking for the same tow mirrors but motorized so I can fold them in when parking on a street. I have a 08 Duramax ltz that has the button but the current tow mirrors don't fold.
I have a 2008 Duramax with tow mirrors on them already. I just bought the upgraded ones because of your video. I have a question about the defrost though. How do you turn the defrost off and on? +Bertrand850 dude your video was so helpful. Thanks
Truck Master absolutely man!
How did you run the Clearance (White) Into the Fuse box?
Directly into the Fuse?
And did you put a 20 Fuse into the BU slot??? If so, why
I am having trouble with mine, but I believe I got a faulty Passenger side Mirror.
Definitely I m going installing one of the on my truck
Full install? So when I do it, my door panels should be off already and wires chopped up?
Great video man, thank you. I was wondering how to level those things. They look kinda silly on my truck at the moment.
Looks good, are you going to remove all chrome on the truck in the future?
+Vince Vansanten no I plan to keep the chime except the bumper
Truck master I have a question I have a 05 duramax and it’s a LLy and it did not come with the tow mirrors but they are power mirrors I got me a pair or tow mirrors that are power with the blinker built in them now since mine did not have blinkers from the factory will I have to wire the knew ones up or should they still work

Hey Gene!
Shoot us a message on Facebook or an email at sales@boostautoparts.com and we can go over the options. We can get you set up with instructions for install.
Great video👍. Just gonna do mine without the wiring harness
I think I'm the only one that likes the factory mirrors lol
You plan on doing any front end work in the spring? Would like to see a front end refresh video. I did G2 tie rods but I need to do a steering box and idler/pitman arms. Keep up the good work! 😎
+Bayer-Z28 thanks man last year I posted a ton of videos on the front end I think I pretty much installed all new parts
3 washers in each bolt right? Total of 12 washer per side?
Looks great !!
Where did you go thru the fire wall at? The man harness to the fuse box?
The big rubber grommet on the driver side firewall
Installing tow mirrors of my 2001 chevy silverado 1500 4wd I have a red, black& purple wires how do I hook them up i seen you're white & gray
Did your stock mirrors have the defrost option? I Wanted to upgrade to these, but my stock mirrors aren't heated, was wondering if and how it's possible to wire the heated option.
Doors look some nice.
+john mason thanks man
Truck Master what is next for the Duramax?
Same amount of washers on both sides? Or more on right since its slanted more
When you leveled the mirrors with washers, what keeps them from bouncing/shaking? Don't the washer leave a gap on the upper mount?
+mustang junk I really don’t have that problem my last Mirrors didn’t do that either
So 3 6mm washers on the furthest bolt ?
Thanks for the video! I like the chrome, matches with the other chrome parts you have on the truck.
+Huber's Ranch thanks
Truck Master One side note also, love the fact you still interact with comments even if you already have 15k followers. A lot of channels stop after a few thousand which I find really sad. So keep up the good work.

Did you use a fuse tap? Or what fuse do you recomend on using on the top of the fuse tap?
I think is looks awesome. But I would color match all chrome
When you add the washers to level the mirror does it make the mirror loose or allow it to shake more going down the road as you are pulling away from the support at the top side?? Just asking so i know before starting mine this next week. They look great otherwise.
Mike Woelk Any problems with yours being loose or shaking more since leveling? Im also looking at doing mine on an 03 Duramax.
@@Hunter-ld7nr I had to get some soft plastic to make a shim for the pivot arm to tighten it up. After washers if was loose so i put it back to the way it was before until i got some plastic strips to cut and make an added shim around the pivot arm.
@@mikewoelk651 Thank you! That is a great idea and I will do that on mine.
I personally like the look of color matched accessories better.
Alec Martin if it was a color yes, but black needs chrome to off set it a liitle
+Kenneth Law agreed
Looks awesome!!
