    Hi how’s it going I have a base model Chevy Silverado 2500hd with roll up windows and no electric locks. There is no where to connect the 2 blue and black connector so I just wired everything how you did and I used extra wire to splice and tap into the turn signal like you explained in the video . I also tried to splice into the light green wire on the harness connecter under the dash for the reverse lights but my harness connecter is missing the light green wire since it’s a work truck .
    After wiring everything how you did in the video except the reverse light since I didn’t have that wire in my connecter I thought my running light would work and my turning signal but nothing worked so i just wanna know if you have some advice for me thank you!

      Thanks for your question. For the white running light, you will need to apply 12V+ to the solid blue wire that does to that 3-wire extension with blue, white, and grey. The white running light gets ground through the black wire with a white stripe. So be sure to ground that wire or that white running light won't work.
      The reverse light gets power through the white wire and ground through the grey wire of that same 3-wire extension. If you can't find that light green wire, there's one other way to get reverse light power on a truck like yours.
      There is a fuse in the underhood fuse box labeled TRLR B/U FUSE 10A. If you tap into that, using one of our ATS fuse taps, you can get reverse light power from there.
      I hope that answers your question. Please let me know if I can help further. Thanks!

    When I splice in to the green wire for reverse lights, do I hook up 2 white wires (driver and passenger) together and into the green wire? Is there a fuse that we need to add or it’s not necessary ? Sounds like only blue wire needs a fuse. What size fuses are used 10amp ?

    • @Sparksmith
      @Sparksmith  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, splice both the left and right side white wires into the light green wire. No fuse is necessary since that circuit is fuse protected by the factory backup lamp fuse in the underhood fuse box. The blue wires for the white running lights will need to be on a fused circuit of your choosing. We typically connect them to the SEO ACCY fuse in the driver's side fuse box since that gets key-on power. But you can splice those two blue wires into the parking light circuit if you'd rather them come on with your parking lights.

    @e-man1432 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    To wire the passenger mirror, do you just run the 3 wires through the dash or is there a way to make it hidden to reach the fuse box on the driver side ?

    • @Sparksmith
      @Sparksmith  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We recommend keeping the blue and white wires twisted or zip tied together (or pop them into some plastic wire loom) and sneak them under the dash to the driver's side. There's plenty of room under there to get those two wires across and keep them out of sight.

    Does the reverse light function come on when you hit unlock on the key fob?

    • @Sparksmith
      @Sparksmith  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When wired as shown, they will come on anytime the reverse lights come on. So, yes, as long as it's dark out, the reverse lights, and the tow mirror lights, will activate simultaneously.

    Do all brand of Tow mirrors with back up lights need to be grounded?

    • @Sparksmith
      @Sparksmith  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We can't speak for other brands. But ours have a separate power and ground wire for the reverse light function. All other functions (power mirror, turn signal, running light, and heater element) are grounded through factory wiring.

    When ever I plug into the fuse it always blows one of them how do I get that to not happen

    • @Sparksmith
      @Sparksmith  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There must be something shorting out inside the harness. Trace all your wires from the fuse tap to each mirror, especially where they go through the boot from the body to the door, and find the chaffed/damage spot.

    Are they paintable or do I need to sand and prime?

    • @Sparksmith

      These are not technically paintable. They have the textured black ABS plastic, so it's not a smooth finish designed to be painted.

    someone else here asked if the DRLs run all the time or just during the daytime?

    • @Sparksmith

      It all depends on the power source you choose when installing them. I used a fuse tap to a fuse that has key-on power. If you choose the same fuse, then yes, they will stay on any time the key is switched on.

    • @Sparksmith

      It's exactly the same as the driver's side except for the blue and white wires. They both get routed under the dash and over to the driver's side.
