Great video and channel Jon. I have just bought 5ltr of the Surfex HD for multiple applications. What kind of dilution would be best to use for exterior and general interior cleaning in your opinion please??
Exterior look for 4/5% PIR or 1:19/1:24 in a pump-up sprayer. Basically 4/5% in a pump-up sprayer. Very effective at getting rid of bugs off your car after a battering on the motorway. Dead cheap to use and very effective. 5% as a prewash on the alloys does nicely at loosening the dirt that isn't embedded on the alloy and gets rid of a chunk on the rinse down. 5% - 10% will clean the tyres really well and with some agitation will remove 95% off the dirt off the alloy. The only time it won't is if its iron particles embedded or tar. For that, use autowheels or Korrosol. You can use AW or Korrosol every few months so you don't waste product and money needlessly. Use it after you took off what you can with SHD.

yes although I tend to say 5% pir is about right with surfex as a pre wash... a good citrus contains d-limonene surfex does not have this in it. D-limonene is a strong organic water miscible solvent. cheap citus skimp on it because its expensive.. and its place they use citral.

John, another question for you; Having driven my car around most of the day I’m keen to give it a quick wash down, it only slightly dusty. What’s your thoughts on covering the car in surfex using a foam bottle, and then rinsing it down. I’ll give the wheels a good wash but I’m keen just to get any road salt off the car that is still around.
sure you can use it this way but surfex is a powerfull degreser.. if its just light dust then a normal snow foam prewash is prolly better. problem is you never break away all the dust or dirt with prewash. you need a bit of contact.. so when you try and dry a car thats just been prewashed only you can scratch it more if towel drying...

Btw that intro was great! :D
Can u use green star everywash without damaging paint
Who put a thumbs down. I'll set Liam Neeson on you.
8 months later and there are 10 of them now!! I imagine they must be brand-snobs who insist that nothing without a Meguiars label can be any good 😂🤣
Lord of the detailers
Buhahaha Gattuso featuring was grrrrreaaaaat ❤
Simple question, for a 1 litre spray bottle what would you recommend for a dilution for general cleaning? 100ml/900ml?? Thanks in advance
hey simon 1:9 is good for most extertior degreasing tyres, engine bay etc.. 1:20 for lower panel pump sprayer prewash. 1:30-1:40 for interior wipe downs.
@@ForensicDetailing thank you for getting back to me. Really enjoying your videos
how does the green star cope with interior cleaning with carpets as i just brough 5 litre of stuff i wish i brough hd now 🤦🏻♂️
Great video and channel Jon.
Sooboth of these are after for interior and exterior of course. Whether you add it to your car shampoo or even your leather interior?
Have a watch if my best APC video m8 it answers all this
Another great informative video. Thank you. I have just purchased some Bilt Hamber surfex hd along with Korrosol and soft clay bar. I have read thay surfex hd can be used as a pre wash in the snow foam lance? Can I use it as a dedicated pre wash or would i have to add it to a snow foam such as Auto Glanz Spritzer. I am new to detaling and Do not currently own a snow foam lance so would have to purchase one. What lance would you reccomend? Thanks again.
any from reputation detailing supplier cheap chinese are 15 quid. the new autoglym one is 30 quid and really good.
Hello sir i have a peugeot 206 1999 model white single stage paint and the color is fade and oxidize,i have buy auto glyms paint renovator 3m rubbing compound and rupes quarz gloss and zephyr compounds aldo i have rupes pads green blue yellow and 3m pads medium hard and microfiber pad, also have rotary polisher, and orbital, what do you recommend for start and which compinations to make or if you propose me another compound, thanks you very much!
Really wish we could get Bilt Hamber in the USA, at an affordable price.
Is a high alkalinity good? Never bought a APC but good to know which has the best cleaning power
Does Surfex HD clean water spots as good as FSE?
It's a degreaser, not a quick detailer.
Hi jon after some advice please mate wot would be the best ratio mix of surfex for a rubberised dashboard 👍
2to5% pir m8
@ForensicDetailing thanks Jon 👍
Jon whats your take on Labocosmeticas products from 🇮🇹 - ever tried them? 😀
Would you recommend BH surfex to use on my bbq grill? Or can you recommend something else for the grill?
It’s a pain in the backside cleaning it!!
How does the Surfex HD compare to the Meguiars APC?
Hi jon! Is surfex okay to use to clean a soft top with? Thanks 🤩
yes mate, nice low concentration maybe something like 1:30 to start with. .. needs to be rinsed and extracted ideally like any detergent.
This sounds daft but I have been trying to wrap my head around the % and you cleared it in one for me, so if I use 10% on wheels Abd arches, it would be 100ml product and 900mls water
1:9 is 10% yer. 1:19 is 5%
@@ForensicDetailing so 1 part solution 9 part water for 10% and 5% 0.5 to 9.5 part water? Really sorry, I'm useless at ratios
I never found Greenstar to be helping much. I might try Surfex HD.
Thanks for the video, but do these products strip wax off a car? I’m thinking of using one before snow foaming with polar blast especially during winter months.
no mate no detergent not even a strip wash can strip modern day fresh protection.
Jon is FLEXin
Is it safe to combine surfex he with Bh autofoam in a Lance to prewash
you really dont need too.. honestly.. but you can.. just be extra carefull not to let it dry.
@@ForensicDetailing is there no proven benefit to adding a small amount GS or Surfex to a snow foam for extra cleaning power?
Ive had very good results with a cap of GreenStar in with my BH Auto Foam.
Do you believe it's doing the same job just with more products being used?
Hi, are these okay to clean engine bay and parts? Not feeling using water to be fair to rinse
yes m8, but they need rinsing away or mopping up with a microfiber.
Where can you get GS for £5?
Could you use this instead of auto finesse citrus power in the pre wash stage?
can be used to remove road film yes mate.
Not sure Surfex is an APC. Never heard it described as such
Any dilutions reccomendatios of HD for tires/wheel wells....and for interiors?
Hi Jon, just catching up on some older vids. Can you use surfex hd as an alternative to citrus wash at 10:1 for a pre wash ? Ace video as usual 👌
yes although I tend to say 5% pir is about right with surfex as a pre wash... a good citrus contains d-limonene surfex does not have this in it. D-limonene is a strong organic water miscible solvent. cheap citus skimp on it because its expensive.. and its place they use citral.
How do these compare to other apcs such as g101? Etc?
Another great video, but damn you making me want all kinds of BH and I can't find it this side of the pond!!
We will be selling this within the month. Keep an eye out for it
Any idea what products like Totalee Awesome APC does to cars paint and trim?
It’s more in the household range of products but would be interested to see if applicable to the detailing world.
Thanks again for a really useful vid
its a bit pointless mate.. because surfex has a cost of around 30p a litre to you. So why switch and pay more for totalee awesome APC and use a product thats not been developed to clean cars??? whats the point
Does green star affect existing protection 🤔
They all do m8
Hey John , should i go with Surfex HD or BH´s Snow Foam as a pre cleaner in a standard pressure sprayer ?.
I've seen tests that shows that Snow foam is even better than HD when sprayed 😮 sad part is that it's twice the price here in IT
Yes shame about the postage from the UK . I can get both (5L ) here in Germany for 29,90 which isn`t to bad .
The beginning killed me 😂
Hi John, do I need to apply Surfex HD through a normal pump sprayer?
Any way u want mate. Trigger sprayer is goid
Currently using megs APC ,but twice the price of BH ,going to switch once all the megs ahs gone
Know of any place I can purchase Bilt Hamber in 5 liters in the US?
There's an official importer ,don't remember who 🤔
Hi does greenstar APC have any effect on the wax/sealant? Have you done any testing on this?
It will degrade protection more
