Leaving a 1/2 an inch at the end before cutting it in 1 inch slices could have helped me so much in the past. I'll definitely do it that way now. Thank you 💕
Thank you so much! I supplied the cake for a friend’s wedding and I think I’m expected to cut it too. It’s only a 2 piece cake to feed about 25 as the wedding is small. I did not realize it may have rods in it! Very helpful to know to check.
People have asked me to make tiered cakes for them. Where do you get (buy) the long dowels to place down the center of the tiers? I better watch the how to assemble stacked cakes video also. Thank you for your tutorial.
The bakery just drops off the cake. The venue cuts and serves the cake or puts it on a dessert table. Be warned: if the venue takes it back into the kitchen to cut it, you can be assured that some of the staff will be eating it as well!
hi. Thank YOU! i always have a terrible time cutting my cakes because when i take off the top tier, all the buttercream from the bottom tier comes completely off. i dont know why i didnt think to just simply run my spatula through it first, smh, that was so simple, i feel dumb, haha. can you please tell me how many serving you get from a 6inch cake when you cut it that way? Thank you so much for sharing!!
You don't get as many servings Peter. As the cake is like a bonus dessert at most weddings, most people do not like a lot. When I'm designing cakes for clients, I recommend having the number of people plus 10% extra for those people that want that extra slice :) Hope that helps

This was the best way to cut a wedding cake. So neat and quick. Thank you!
I like this way better than cutting the circle. This way seems easier and gives you more control.

When you deliver your cakes to a wedding venue, do you stay to disassemble and cut to serve the cake or do you leave it for the venue staff to handle?
Perfect question, that has yet to be answered.

Most of the time the people getting married take the first slice and then someone else or they can do the rest of the cutting.
Great video! Thank you for sharing! ☺

Is this the same method for a tiered buttercream cake?
Aisha Wilson yes
that is so cool wow! omg I'm gonna cut my wedding cake like that wow
This is excellent
Thank you so much!
so would you do this before serving it at a wedding?
Thank you that is my hardest part about cakes.its better now with fondant but buttercup am still seems to be so messy
But fondant is impossible to cut and it doesn’t taste good.
How about the buttercream cake, how to disassemble and slice ?
Hmm those pieces seem pretty big. But then again, I guess the size of the cake portions depend on the number of guest you need to feed at the wedding.
Pefect, Thansk!
Haralsito Hidalgo Thank you!

Si la cortas armada ejerces presión en las otras capas y las aplastas
