Zoom is designed for video conferencing for up to 1000 participants. The free version of zoom allows for up to 100 participants per meeting room.
You can also video chat or just use computer audio for voice chat.
You can easily share your computer screen or portion of your screen with anyone. You can have one on one video conferences.
You can also use a virtual whiteboard to teach or demonstrate a point.
Zoom does not run on the website. You do have to download the app and installed it on your Mac or PC.

Howfinity .... so one question I have is how to utilize the whole screen of a website that me (the Host) is using to teach something from a website. Is there a way to make to make the website FIT on my Zoom screen? Ty
@@AskBradFischer I believe when you press sharescreen on a zoom session, it allows you to pick your entire screen or just an application or a website that is open on Chrome and your web browser. I just tested it and it showed the entire website edge to edge.

I will repeat the video due to rapid, fast conversation of the nice young host. However, as a senior I appreciate you for helping me.
Now this is the way to make a computer video! He has helpful graphics, he moves along at an easy to follow pace, he's pitching to his audience, and not talking over the beginner level with a lot of needless jargon, and he has an excellent speaking voice.

I have seen dozens of computer videos where the guy zips around too fast, he leaves out helpful information and assumes to much knowledge on the part of his audience. Many of those computer videos don't even have a narrator! No one is talking. I know computer boys are famous for poor social skills. But people who make videos on every other topic understand that a tutorial video needs a narrator explaining what is happening on the screen.
You delivered your lesson clearly, logically, and comprehensively. If I were your evaluator, you would earn an A++ ... super work, my friend ... applause!

You press the camera button
You could put something over the camera like a piece of black tape or blob of blu tak etc. If they ask why they can’t see you, tell them your camera is broken lol. Good luck!

How do I mute myself without muting them? today in my zoom call I couldn't hear
Jen You have to press “microphone” while you’re in the meeting and it will make cross on the microphone icon which indicates that you’re muted. And yes, you don’t mute others.
I can't stand using this app and we need it for orientation in which I miss meeting my advisor to pick my classes because I didn't see the link in the chat.

Okay I have 5 people that want me to join zoom (including doctors and friends.) But, from what I read about zoom is their browser IS NOT SAFE for home use. I was also told "zoom is FREE" well when I checked it out plans start at $10+ a month.
Just asking for input on what everyone else thinks about this.
Is Zoom still available as a Free App at this time? I had been using it passed 40 minutes and it worked wonderfully. However, on Friday the session timed out at 40 minutes. How can I extend my meeting time?
First time I'm going to use Zoom this week in a conference. I really hope I'm not going to be the last one in the group to get it set up properly when it goes live. It gets messy when you have a separate cam, from headphones and microphones, etc, and not all built into a laptop. I have a tower PC with loads of different speaker outputs, mic inputs, sound card outputs.

I believe he said you have to enter your contacts. Hope this helps.
Somehow Zoom asked me if I wanted to use my contacts, yes, I clicked, and I had access. Kinda like magic.

Sandra Fennings Hi Sandra. It’s pretty easy but not obvious. After you push the start button to begin a meeting, your screen will have a menu across the bottom. Push the “more” button on the right side. There’s an option for “virtual background”. Push that button and you can use a default background or add up to 3 photos from your photo library. This works on my iPhone, not sure about android or my MacBook Pro.

How do you share slides? And incase other participants are tuned via their mobile phones, how do they get to share their screen or slides?
how do you get the picture of everyone on the meeting to appear on the screen at the same time. Right now Ive only been able to get the person who is talking on the screen

No, they just have to click on the link and that takes them to the meeting online.

As a participate to join the meeting, I learnt the way to join the meeting by clicking the link, or using meeting ID & passcode. Right now, I know both ways to get in the Zoom meeting.
However, I once acted as a host, and I did not know the way letting participate in. Please advise. Thank you.
How do you “raise your hand” in the zoom app when you want to ask a question?

1. My home page does not look like yours. Is this because you have a newer version or are paying for an upgraded account?
2. I do not have the contacts icon at the top for sharing and believe this would make my life so much easier! Again, is this because of my #1 question or if not, can you let me know how to transfer my parent contact list I have on outlook to be able to use on Zoom?
3. When I create my meetings and start them, I am UPSIDE DOWN!!! Please help with this!!!

I am using Zoom for my teaching my college math class. I schedule a meeting and send a copy of the invitation to my class via Outlook. If you have your parent contacts set up as a group in Outlook it is an easy process. Just begin an email and paste the invitation

If you add a meeting password, I would imagine that couldn't happen.
@Laura Carder I think you have to pay and check specifically for the HIPAA compliant version of Zoom. Hopefully your school will pay for that.

On the settings (Gear symbol in lower right of image) you can choose a different playback speed. The video originator chooses whether to enable this, this one DID.

You didn't address the Share Screen. I basically know how to use it but when I've tried to share TH-cam songs with my group, the audio doesn't come thru well. It's more garbled to participants. Can you tell me what I should maybe set on my page to make it come thru to all?
