I really like this one. It has all the elements of great fingerpicking. The driving rhythm, a super singable melody, the percussive tone of the left hand, and lovely leading tones at just the right time. Those harmonics are perfect.
I've been playing andy mckee tunes for years man just like you he's my favorite acoustic artist of all time. You've managed to spark that same interest in learning your compositions that andy did for me years ago. Can't wait to learn your tunes. Your compositions are out if this world

I just unwrapped my brand new Byers Dynamic DT 770 Pro's and went looking for something to break them in with. This was the first thing in my history worthy of listening to and I was NOT disappointed. Crisp highs and great midtone. Plus I love this tune. So good!

That's the one! It was a prototype for a more affordable line of guitars by Galloup in Michigan. They only made one multiscale and I was lucky to snag it second hand from a place in Nashville. I really do enjoy it.
Can this style(finger style) be self taught? If so where do we start .. what all channels should I follow … I really want to learn everything from scratch

This song is especially good on a baritone guitar ngl. I even bought the tabs to try it myself lol
Btw since this song doesn't use a standard tuning, do I have to buy a set of specific string gauges to equalize their tension? Neck twisting is a huge pain to me ngl
It's super fun on baritone, agreed! As for strings on the standard guitar - no. I just use .012's. I don't run into issues of any kind with this tuning.

In this video i'm using a 'Great Lakes' guitar which was an alternative brand name for more affordable guitars made in Brian Galloup's workshop. It's one of a kind and sort of a prototype - I think they intended to make an artist line of affordable guitars and ended up deciding to end the project. It's got a spruce top and Michigan maple back and sides. Cheers!

Is that your natural nails or are they synthetic?
I mostly use natural nail but If I bust a nail, i'll glue on one of those acrylic nails you can get at a pharmacy.
