You can't really tell who's better some like this form of music better others like another. nice. i notice he has to pick very quietly in order for those taps to seem at a similar volume level. I must say, he has nice control and a very fine sense of tempo. heheh the rock star ending. Dude also has a good sense of humor.
Hahaha come on man is that the only thing you noticed? This guy is absolutely crazy, him picking quietly is by far the least impressive thing he showcased in this performance (and it was still impressive!)
I like to imagine his hands are actually sperate, sentient beings that replaced his real hands and all three of them-hands and him-have developed the most symbiotic relationship of all.
This is one of them “I bought the whole guitar, I’m playing the whole guitar” videos… and nailed it too. I’m very glad he played the whole thing for us all to enjoy! Much love and keep on jammin!
If you like this (which you obviously do) check out Ewan Dobson from Toronto. He's slightly eccentric, but his acoustic work is next level. He has lots of videos on YT.
I have watched it a whole lot too. He did a fantastic job. He certainly owned the song, but he misleads everyone into believing he wrote the song. I'd like to watch something he wrote.
I was already amazed when he was talking casually to the crowd and playing the bass notes + hammer on so well and then as the video progressed - I've started questioning my life.
For anyone who's just discovered Mike Dawes - this guy is just as good of an arranger and songwriter as he is a technical guitar player. No matter how complicated the music may be he is also amazing at making it sound beautiful.
.. and a very humble nice guy too! I met him after a show, where he opened for Tommy Emmanuel. He's the guy who personally thanks everybody warmly to have visited his merch stand! The way he casually speaks while still being in perfect tempo with what he's playing is absolutely insane. I can barely sing while strumming average chords and I've been playing for 8 years. Much respect
Greetings all from central Mississippi.Just stumbled across this. Stay healthy and happy!
Don't sweat it. The Ramones couldn't play and sing at the same time either, and look where they are. Oh wait, they're all dead.
Nevermind!
@@JSBIRD69 That....is somehow strangely reassuring
Its a Left Brain Right Brain Thing, while one side is Speaking with Music the Other Side is Speaking with Thought, The same way people doing complicated tasks can listen and sing along with Music and still be accurate with the task they are doing.💪🗽💪🇺🇸✊
I've watched this a million times, and I'm always stunned by how clean his playing is. Oh my, such control.
There are quite a few good finger style guitarist's, search these chanel names of Eddie van der meer, andrey foy, ero nareth, and beond guitar
@@bearr7506 they're not as good as this guy tho, i can play like andrew foy if i practice for like 2 years more, but i think to be able to play like this guy, i would have to practice for 5 years.
@@hart.6230 I think once you reach a certain stage there really is no such thing as best in terms of just shredding.
Some are good at stuff that other guitarist are not.
I play fingerstyle, I usually buy eddies songs (just recently I started to try and arrange real stuff ) if I practice let's say his hardest arrangement and it took me 4 months with an hour or 2 a day and I can fluently play it, that doesn't mean I'm on the same level as eddie.
You can't really tell who's better some like this form of music better others like another.
Try not to esteem yourself too high to the point where you say I can probably play like this guy in 2 years, because who knows it could take you 5 years because andrew is more talented with his ear or he has a faster reaction then you, humble yourself.
@@bearr7506 I know, but I practice around 5 hours a day, it's okay for me to estimate where I want to be in the next 5 years right? I know theres a lot of guitarists that practice 12 hours a day, but I estimate myself because I learn by ear and watch people play, I don't usually buy tabs. I sometimes learn difficult sings by watching tutorials and thats about it
@@bearr7506 and in comparison this guy is technically more seasoned than andrew, even rick beato says he's the best guitarist, me personally I think he's up there with Tommy Emmanuel, but both are different masters at different arts
Wow what talent. He plays bass drums guitar , melody, and talks at the same time. Crazy!
nice. i notice he has to pick very quietly in order for those taps to seem at a similar volume level.
@@maksimkirandziski9660 man don't underestimate what he said ... It's truly difficult to do that
The man's mastered the guitar itself.
Rather then cords and rifs.
It took a team of 5 to do this before.
If only he could sing 🙃
compressor? :P

He played that guitar like my ex played me 😭

The way this guy's hands move, the amazingness of the sound and precision, yep, this guy has a sharingan.

I like to imagine his hands are actually sperate, sentient beings that replaced his real hands and all three of them-hands and him-have developed the most symbiotic relationship of all.
Soiled Flapjacks what an outstanding allegory sir! Well played, well played indeed!
Anyway, here's wonderwall

wow!
Ha ha. Brilliant.
🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😭😭😭😭
😂😂
I'm not quite sure I was expecting that. Unique!
Jesus.
As a guitar player I’m going to pretend I never saw this so I can still call myself one
Same here dude, same here.
Don't worry, what he does is not playing guitar anymore, he's a one man band
Aka fingerstyle
Yeah, same here.
@alp 53 is that a drax the destroyer reference from Avengers infinity war? "He is not a dude, you are a dude. This..this is a man"
"Very very simple"

- Tapping - Check

Ok got it

This God damn near killed me 😂
it's not easy but it's simple

Since you won't finger it , it has to finger itself.

It's always fun to watch things that are not humanly possible actually get done......effortlessly and right before your eyes (and ears).
I'm going to pretend I never saw this... And continue playing like a pro while I live in happily denial....
KaysianReigns loool i died laughing XD, but really i think you're as good as your joke here Bro
this comment made my day!!!!!! hahahahahahahaha
KaysianReigns It's all about getting yer techniques together. I am certain ye will accomplish if ye diligently and mindfully practise.
THIS!!!!
Looking over at my Cordoba - WHY YOU NO SOUND LIKE THAT!!
This is one of them “I bought the whole guitar, I’m playing the whole guitar” videos… and nailed it too. I’m very glad he played the whole thing for us all to enjoy! Much love and keep on jammin!
This is my favorite solo performance of any musician I have ever witnessed. I've probably watched it 100 times. It never loses its impression on me.
Same here
If you like this (which you obviously do) check out Ewan Dobson from Toronto. He's slightly eccentric, but his acoustic work is next level. He has lots of videos on YT.
I have watched it a whole lot too. He did a fantastic job. He certainly owned the song, but he misleads everyone into believing he wrote the song. I'd like to watch something he wrote.
Watch big love by Lindsey Buckingham
Find some old Michael Hedges. He was amazing and no doubt inspired Mike's work.✌️
And my guitar gently weeps tears of shame
Very few guitarists understand the multidimensional possibilities of the guitar. Michael Hedges, Stanley Jordan, Leo Kottke. This is just amazing.
One of the reasons why I like this performance is, that you can feel that Mike truly loves what he's doing.
Do you know his full name?

Shaggy?
4:17 might possibly be the most tasteful guitar bit I've ever heard. That hit me so hard. Truly amazing.
fr bro, the build up was amazing also
I think its the way he timed that mute and letting that string ring out that makes it hit hard
You should look up Edgar Cruz. I think you'll enjoy it very much.
A master and his instrument
@@arnoldhechanova6500 the mute said as much as the note
I was already amazed when he was talking casually to the crowd and playing the bass notes + hammer on so well and then as the video progressed - I've started questioning my life.
What a joy, saw mike playing with justin hayward, love him, what a talent❤❤❤

The touch harmonics....OMG
Could you imagine if this man had a 3rd hand???
Civilized Delinquent Dont you put ideas in his head
Itd be playing a saxaphone
Civilized Delinquent yes- and the guitar would grow feet and run like hell because it wouldn't be able to handle it!!
Randy Hospodar that's just what I was thinking, but I would have said wankin instead
Quite clearly 2 hands is enough anyway!
I bought a CD and we kept on talking and he kept on thanking me for my support! This guy is unbelievably positive in every way !!
this guy is a natural on stage - totally relaxed
when i heard the bass line,, i immidiately grab my guitar pause the video and follow , so easy, i was motivated,,,go go go... then when i continue to play the video watch it for 3 to 5 sec, i said to my self "Jesus he's an alien"
ranny arca haha ...don't give up man
But he is Jesus
Same

ranny arca Jesus is not an alien.
He is the son of god.
It’s rare that a piece of music is played so beautifully that it just makes me shut my eyes and let my mind wander...but this one did it
Those vocals are absolutely beautiful...such a gorgeous feel to the song and video ...
-What instrument can you play: guitar, bass or drums?
-Yes
This is what TH-cam (the Internet) should be about. Talent plus MASSIVE amount of seriously hard work leads to Genius! Thank you so much Mr Dawes!
I lost count of the number of times I saw an impossible harmonic or other similar callisthenic and thought "only guitar players would even notice that". Amazing fluidity and dexterity.
