I LOVE RUSSELL! My two are just the same, we all garden together :) Get him a friend, I had my first cat for 21 years by himself, and after he passed, I got two... watching them play together is just the BEST!
Dexter definitely passed his soul to Russell! I know it's about gardening. But sometimes I'm so obsessed with Russell that I have to back up or watch the video again to get the info. Love both!
You have inspired me to buy some bulbs and get digging! I love Gladiolas and have the perfect place for them. Thank you for the bulb website, as well. Also, in my mail, I received a brochure from my favorite garden center and there you were, with a two-page spread. So exciting! I showed it to my husband and said that's my girl! Congratulations!
Please do a video on "how to store bulbs in fall". I always don't do this step which is why have to buy new ones every year. Please show us this fall, thank you
Looking good! We just had snow, it may be 60 today, but they're now saying that we may not even be done with snow! I'm so over winter, and ready to move my dahlia (because it's located in a bed soon to be covered by a deck...) and plant some other bulbs I've gathered over the winter. I have three separate four garden areas... one around the front porch, one along the edges of the house, the veggie garden, and the back flower garden, which gets more shade than the veggie garden, as it's under a giant maple tree. They are all fairly small, with the veggie garden the biggest at 10' x 24'. Looking forward to all the new things you're planning for this year.
When do you plant them did you have to keep them inside in winter? Thanks. Not sure what zone i am but if they work in Canada they should work in ireland i hope
I do LOVE a 20+ minute Garden Answer video, but I'm extremely satisfied with the videos like this one, because it means: you'll have more time to make more videos (ya'll are posting one about every day, which makes all of us happy-thank you!!!!) and more videos equals super long monthly "garden update" videos because there'll be so much to show us :) It also means there's a TON of activity going on in your garden (which I know makes your soul happy). And most of all it means you are spending a lot of time with sweet Benjamin (which I know makes your heart happy!) :))
Thanks for sharing your world of gardening knowledge with those of us who really want to know! I still can't plant my bulbs till the dam snow and frost leaves us. Great video.
So much wonderful information. Did you ever think of being a teacher? You are wonderful at explaining this so well. I have a library started of videos for future reference. This is one that I will look at again. Sometimes I even pause the video if I am taking notes...and what’s great about these videos I can always replay them later. Cant wait to see how your beautiful home Will be transformed by you with all the pretty 💐...have a great day.
Where I live sometimes it gets below freezing*** rarely*** but my lillies and gladiolus servive it just fine. But then again I have at least 6 inches of mulch
I love your videos. You are so relaxed and natural on camera, and you always provide a wealth of practical and helpful information. Seeing Russell, however, reminded me that it would have been nice to add a warning that all parts of lilies are toxic to cats.
This came at such a great time! I need to start looking for bulbs for a flower bed I have and all know as bulbs are tulips and lilies I live in a tropical country so that is to much work for me right now so yup!!! You heard me lol
Laura, Can you do a video on planting freesias? I just saw them in the garden center and they were stunning. I've seen them in the bulb catalogs...but I have no idea when one would plant these and how to store the bulbs etc. I'm in zone 6.
Hi! Love your videos! Question, the link listed for the bulbs does not take us to a flower bulb website but to an energy bulb website. Has the web address changed??
I Sub'd because your videos are some of the best on gardening. You are a very good teacher. Thank you for being such a calming and informative resource.
Thank you Laura last time I tried planting bulbs they died I didn't know what I was doing this video sure did explain it to me. By the way Russell is adorable.
Great video. I love to garden. Your videos inspire me to go out and buy more and more plants. Now I need to add dahlias to my shopping list. I'm trying to stick to my budget, but I cant go this summer without dahlias.
No planting here. I live in upper Wi., 33.5 inches of snow this weekend. The most snow in April since 1888, 130 years. Snow drifts by my house are 6 to 10 feet tall.
Gooodmorning! My coffee and Garden Answer! Awsome! Laura perfect timing I was just looking at our spring bulbs and I think they are done there is summer bulbs in as well and can’t Waite to see them come up. My husband made the wooden planter you made a while back with your tulips so we did the same and itsbeautiful! I’m about to look up your video on tulip after care the stems look so sad lol. I just need to know if I should cut stems off. Thank you again perfect timing! ❤️🌷🌹
What about ranunculus?? I'm waiting for your video about buttercups. I love these blooms. I'd like to learn more about planting them in the garden. I love your videos!!
Can I pot spring bulbs, keeping them inside and transplant them when they start to sprout? I'm trying to prevent my squirrel friends from eating the bulbs.
Do you have to pull the bulb after they bloom and is the bulb will bloom again and how you store them I wonder if you can make a video for pulling them and storing them after the bloom. Thanks for the video 😍😍😍
I've just started filling my garden spaces with a bulb mix. It's a spring surprise this year. Any feedback on bulbs that produce leaves, but without a stem or bud would be appreciated. Gladiolas and other summer bulbs are next!
Great video..very informative.Since I am from the Caribbean..where we only experience rainy season and dry season..What bulbs can I plant throughout the year??
Hello! I also love your videos but I’d really love to know how I can find out which flowers and plants can be planted together.. you make a lot of arrangements with your potted containers around your home I don’t know if you just winged it or there’s a way to tell which can be planted with which ! Thank you! You’re great btw wishing you Ben and the rest of the family all the best!!!!
Hello i got a bunch of hostas, day lilies and caladium. They were on sale at Walmart. Can i go ahead and plant them now? Or wait for the fall? I got of the calla too. When can i plant it?
Love your channel very helpful info for a beginner especially. Question, if Cala Lilies can be grow in a pot, can they be forced to bloom since they won’t be planted in fall? I’m in Minnesota. Thank you!
These are supposed to be annuals? I live in zone 6 and I have gladiolus, calla, and oriental lilies planted. They always come back every year, and I never dig them up.
I really love your videos however, today it felt like you were trying to rush through the material. That in turn made it a bit harder to absorb the info you were sharing. This is not meant as criticism just an observation. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge with us.
Mellisa K Attention spans and watch time are likely the reason. Some people don't have a lot of time, they want to get their answers/info as quickly as possible. Others may turn off or switch to a different video while this video still plays. That influences how TH-cam ranks the videos. In short: the higher the watch time percentage, the better. Shorter videos are watched more quickly - obviously resulting in a higher watch time... 🌴
I LOVE RUSSELL! My two are just the same, we all garden together :) Get him a friend, I had my first cat for 21 years by himself, and after he passed, I got two... watching them play together is just the BEST!
He is the perfect orange kitty. Really.

Peggy Ekena I am curious, I just purchased some bulbs here in Zone 8 in May. Do I plant then super deep in my pots and keep them watered??
Please do a video on "how to store bulbs in fall". I always don't do this step which is why have to buy new ones every year. Please show us this fall, thank you

What beautiful marbling in Russell’s coat!
Your cat is adorable.😻🐈
So jealous of all of the birds singing in the background. Still dealing with 12+ inches of snow where I’m at... 😭❄️🌨☃️
I actually planted some gladiolus 2 weeks ago and they are now about 2 inches above ground and can’t wait! (Ontario California)
When do you plant them did you have to keep them inside in winter? Thanks. Not sure what zone i am but if they work in Canada they should work in ireland i hope
I like to watch this video. Lots of flowers start blooming here in South Korea, too.

I love your videos. You are so relaxed and natural on camera, and you always provide a wealth of practical and helpful information. Seeing Russell, however, reminded me that it would have been nice to add a warning that all parts of lilies are toxic to cats.
Great information! I always forget about summer bulbs!

So, all of these bulbs have to be dug up for the winter right? Are there no warm season bulbs that can be left in the ground during the winter?

bulb.com seems to be home to a energy company now.
Do you add fertilizer to the calla?
Can you do a lasagna summer bulbs? I have not seen any online
Actually, lilies are really winter hardy, the reason why they are sold in spring, I guess becasue they don't need vernalisation, while trulips need.
I want to grow Calla Lilies but I feel like it's impossible to here in Vancouver...
Russell is so BIG and BEAUTIFULL!
When ever i go to bulb . Com it links to an irish electrical company lol

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge with us.
she is trying to get as much info in as possible while keeping the video somewhat short
Seems quite a few of the people I watch are really shortening their videos. Wondering if TH-cam has to do with this.
Just watch it again. I love TH-cam for that very reason. :)
Again, not a criticism just an observation.
Mellisa K Attention spans and watch time are likely the reason. Some people don't have a lot of time, they want to get their answers/info as quickly as possible. 🌸🌸🌸😽😽😽
DOES THAT CAT HAVE THUMBS?!?!
Erin Dewan I think Russell is a Hemingway cat.
He’s a polydactyl cat- 6 toes on each foot.
Bulb.com is about renewable energy I clicked on your link and I found nothing about flowers
