  • The Mitsubishi 9000 is a wood hexagonal pencil painted dark green with a medium green band around the top. It is a capped pencil - no eraser. This pencil is made in Japan. I have reviewed the HB version of this pencil previously, and here I take a closer look at the B version of this quality writing instrument.

      American and Japanese cedars are unrivaled in ribbons. Of all common pencil barrel materials, only recycled paper makes a ribbon that can be anywhere near as long and uniform.

    Listening to your evaluation and appreciation of this instrument and the cedar ribbon...oh! Drooling

    This pencil is among my most favorite pencils for writing as well as drawing in my unruled notebook. It has excellent wood which always sharpens perfectly. The core rally breaks. It is soft and feels almost like some sort of oil is added in it to make it write smoothly.

      It's not oil, but polymers that the Japanese use in place of clay as a bonding agent

      Hi StopFear - this pencil really does perform beautifully! The formulation of the core is near perfect - a pleasure to use. Thanks!

      @@DinnerForkTongue Yes. That’s correct. I used the word “oil” because it feels as if it is “oiled up” when it writes as smoothly as it does.

      @@DinnerForkTongue Mitsubishi does use some type of oil, but they keep it secret. Refer to pencil making prices, Mitsubishi in the magazine ECOMZINE NTT on the internet.

      @@DinnerForkTongue Pencil makers also use baths of wax on their leads, that's what he mistook as oil.

    Nice pencils. Sincerely thank you for this review, very useful indeed. I have purchased several Mitsubishi pencils in the past, but have not yet had the opportunity to test them thoroughly. I miss the 9000 series anyway. I will buy them as soon as possible 😃.
    My greetings.

      Thank you, scritturadintorni! If you have enjoyed other Mitsubishi pencils, you will really like the 9000 model.

    Some would say that you can't improve the standard ubiquitous, yellow, No. 2 Pencil, and then I show them a Mitsubishi

    • @DinnerForkTongue
      @DinnerForkTongue 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep. It's fundamentally flawed to say the American pencil can't be better when Japanese pencils are five or so mouse clicks away.

      Hi Ronciego - I've never been disappointed by a Mitsubishi pencil. Thanks!

    Out of all pencil reviews I've seen on this channel, this is the first one I can't hear _any_ particular scratch on the paper. Rather I can only hear the reverse - the tooth of the paper grinding down the lead. But as usual, erasability is problematic, so C+ is perfectly fair.
    In terms of quality, well it's a Mitsubishi. Even when they're budget, they're never cheap.

    I do tons of math problems in pencil on a daily basis. What is a good pencil you would recommend? Something smooth and dark. Price doesn't matter.

    • @AlwaysAnalog
      @AlwaysAnalog  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi asfasfd - if you like smooth and dark pencils, I can highly recommend these, although they are a little on the softer side. Another good option would be to get these in the HB instead of the B. They are a tad firmer and require less sharpening. Both write beautifully.

      In stationery? I agree. Mostly. India is really in the running for the value market, and with the new pencils, China is getting in on the action too. But in more refined or even luxury products, Japan still has the lead. Pun fully intended.
