They do actually sell a smaller number of these for individual use on the Amazon Basics website, I think either 20-30 a box, I mentioned it in a comment long ago when I recommended them but you probably don't remember since you get such a large number of comments now. But these are definitely sold in smaller numbers.
Hi ilurvemv - I see that you can buy these in smaller quantities. My work colleague bought a big box for students, so it was handy to try a few from his order. Thanks!
When I test out pencils, I usually stack papers on top of each other since usually you can end up feeling the table through the paper, making it harder to tell if the pencil is smooth or not.
I write on a surface that is very slightly padded. I often use a tablet or pad of paper, but when I do write on a single sheet there is a bit of padding from my desk blotter. Thanks!
Many times companies will buy a famous maker product "en bulk" and put their own brand on it. You see this at Costco with their Kirkland brand which really is a good value. Amazon probably does this as well but often times they'll leave a feature/frill or something off (hence "basics") thus making it competitive with price shoppers (who isn't though?) which also works to keep name brands in check. Walmart's "Great Value" is another example of this imo. While all the other brands were inflating their prices in what appears to be a cash grab the "Great Value" prices have amazingly held steady. The Amazon basics might be another famous pencil brand with Amazon's name on it.
Selling these in lots of 150 is breaking with custom in a way that (to me) is irrationally irritating. Why not a gross, the way pencils have been counted and bundled since their invention? Like donuts, a pencil's base unit should always be 12. Thanks for the review, Kevin. I've actually never tried one of these, either.
Hi, Kevin! Good to know these are decent pencils. I'm probably not going to get any simply because I don't need 150 pencils, but they'd be great for schools! I still have to pick up some Pen and Gear pencils. Sadly, I'll probably miss the sale, but I'm okay with that. Thanks for the video, Kevin and have a wonderful day!
Hi Nancy - it seems these are also available in smaller quantities, but the P+G pencils are a great value anytime you get them. You can usually get a pack for around a dollar anytime of year. Thanks!
If you want I will show you my pencil collection, and I will send you in the USA some pencils that i want to share with you, by the way i am from Europe, good luck and have a good day!
Good to know this budget-friendly Filipino pencil is decent enough to compare to an Indian one. I was honestly expecting it to be worse, but nope, the only foible I can point out is that it's a noisy writer. Maybe if a buyer is insistent on finding out the manufacturer Amazon is outsourcing to, they can find smaller sets? Because these sure are inconvenient to buy as an individual. 150 pencils is _a lot_ of pencils. Far too much for a single person, no matter how much one writes on the daily. I prefer the Pen & Gears, they're darker and come in much more manageable packages.
all discount or crazy cheap pencils are noisy, amplified by the fact that this guy is writing on a single sheet of paper put directly on the table, and also for some reason this guy's mic is crazy with picking up noise. his eraser rubbing videos are annoying af, does not reflect how it sounds in reality. but if you just want a comparison for noise, you can definitely figure out which product is most noisy from his videos. except not how they perform in reality
@@sodium303 Yes, I know that, my first-time-commenting pal. I've been a subscriber of "this guy" for years, I know how he rolls. Any mention of noise intensity I talk about in this channel is exclusively compared to other videos on this channel. I like the extra pickup factor of his microphone because I can pick up sounds that a regular noise-gated or otherwise attenuated audio capture would pass up on, especially the Japanese pencils he sometimes tests. The mention of noise is relative mostly to the Pen & Gear, which is a VERY quiet budget pencil in reality.
Hi DFT - it appears that these are sold in smaller quantities, although the bigger packages offer a lower cost per pencil. I've found other pencils from the Philippines to be less than average writers, but these were alright. The P+G pencils are still the best pencil value I have seen. Thanks!
I’ve never seen a pencil review, I never really thought about it. Very comprehensive review.
Thanks - I appreciate you watching!
Thanks for the review it was fun.
You're welcome! I appreciate you watching!

I like a lot your channel, and I wish to tell you that i use pencils for about 2 years.
So glad you enjoy the channel! Thanks!

I just plain do not write on a single sheet of paper! We're so quirky..
That's true right there, though Kevin kept it consistent among all 3 pencils, so that's a plus.

*Box of 150 is $19.37 in Canada, $0.12913 each (+ tax & shipping). Pen & Gear at Walmart is a better deal.*
Hi raccoon - yes, the P+G pencil is still about the best pencil buy out there. Thanks!
Wow I didn't expected this. Great!
Thanks, Kris!

What famous pencil brand produces stuff in the Philippines, though?

I guess I should send you some some time!! I have bunches. Bought a lot of 50 at a thrift store for $5
Hi MAMO - I'll happily trade these pencils for a dozen donuts anytime! Thanks!
These kind of pencils always jam my pencil sharpeners no matter what electric pencil sharpener I use it jams and stalls

The Pen+Gear pencils are almost always 97 cents for 24 so you don't have to worry about missing a sale!

Do you know how many pencils you have ? I am a fan of your channel I have seen almost all your videos
Hi - I'm not sure how many pencils I have but it's quite a few. Thanks for watching the videos!
