Evade extended is a must for this weapon in world it suffers with attrocious movement and long sheathing animation rise fixed and I’m hoping wilds will adapt some movement into the mainline for it.
I picked up gunlance in rise and i used it a little in mh4u def a crowd killer in mh4u but to me its such an easy weapon to learn much easier than current LS
I think this weapon rank as hard to master. Not exactly because of the weapon itself, but because how fast monsters are in Iceborne when pretty much everything is a high commitment move, because your shield is getting less and less usefull and you should rely on step and jump to avoid attacks, and more importantly, you will have to face a lot things that can put you in danger against your will, such has being next to a wall or the atrocious slopes and ledges that basically kills your positioning and dodging.
Its hard for mobility in iceborn but this is my main weapon in rise cz of wirebugs.. This weapon hits as hard as GS and CB, its easy to stagerred a monster..
Arrekz’ guides are dope, I’ve got loads that’ll help too! Both should be used in conjunction with hunter’s notes and practicing in the training area haha
@@LightItUpDan I'm trying gunlance and I'm having a hard time with it. Specially regarding mobility hehe. Although, with lance, everything goes smoothly.

it makes a big difference for sure
Evade Window its also a great skill for this, if you know the moveset of the Monster, you can be as sticky as a lance main.
GL gets way better to play in later game when you get decorations like evade extender and the artillery decorations
I gotta play it some more, it's really fun!

Fair enough, I haven’t played Rise yet but I hear GL is super fun in it

What is the best gunlance?
fatalis/raging brachy
Furious Rajang will probably be really solid too!
Fatalis for normal shelling, raging brachy or furious rajang for wide shelling and safijiiva for long shelling.
Depends. There is 3 types of gunlances. Wide, normal and long
In World normal shelling was best. Pre Fatalis it was the Rathian tree, Queens Panoply
Excuse me did you just say two clutch claw attacks to tenderise with a weapon that slow😳
Yeah haha
I will read through the hunters notes if by “Hunters notes” you mean arrekz gaming and if by “read” you mean watch.

"With extra freedom". clearly doesn't know how to use lance...
I'm very well versed with Lance, it's a joke about it being a gun. Looks like that one went over your head lol 🧠
