I've been down here for over a week and this far I haven't been too impressed with the surf fishing. I've used all diff pomp rigs and fish gum and shrimp even live shrimp on Carolina rigs an dknocker rigs . I even have resorted to shark fishing at night with live and cut menhayden to no avail. So then I said forget the surf fishing and started running crab pots to very limited success . I think from now on I'll keep my crabbing vacations limited to Virginia Beach and my surf fishing vacay's limited to Destin beach. Seems to be alot more people than fish down here in orange Beach hahaha

We went down down to destin about a month ago and didn't catch much pompano. Even went the shark fishing route like u did. No luck lol

If you have the time you could simply replicate it and get all the stuff you need from a local bait store
