    Idk why but i kinda miss the goofy moments in your videos. It made it yours if you know what I mean. The jokes were bad but in the perfect way. If you like doing videos this way then I'm not gonna discourage you cause it is great and informative. But just remember that you can do whatever you want with your content, and true fans will begin to appreciate it.

    Hi Dan, can you make a video for a 6-string bass guitar as well?

    • @Da_Swifta
      @Da_Swifta 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      gerard dela cruz well it’s the same thing really, you just have to buy a wider neck and bridge, 2 extra tuning machines, and pickups that were built to accomedate six strings. Depending on the body you use you might have to do some extra drillwork to get all the larger pieces to fit, but in practice it’s the same process as building a regular 4-string.
      But if you’re interested there’s a video series up on youtube Where a guy builds a 6-string bass from scratch. Don’t remember what the channel was called though.

      I have the MM Jazz Bass but recently put a Tone Monster SEB3 Preamp in it. Sounds great. Replaced the Fender Preamp with a Bartolini TCT Preamp but couldn't get the Marcus Sound out of it. Lol There is big debate online regarding the TCT Marcus uses being no longer made and the Bartolini TCT sold today is a new version. I've called them and claim it's basically the same preamp my ears say different. Lol Marcus's team has been buying all the old TCT's anywhere can find them since he has retired his OG Bass from touring and takes other Fenders on the road. There are several bass players on TH-cam who have the new Bartolini TCT Preamp but add 223 Capacitor to the Tone Pot which sounds like the old TCT. Not sure how to add on my TCT since I have Vol 250k Pot, Vol 250k Pot, Treble 500k Pot, Bass 500k Pot and a 25k Mid Cut. I've asked for clarification but they have not received a response. Any Ideas? Sorry for the long post. Lol

    LoL.
    Needed to do some routing in my DIY guitar kit.
    I had a milling bit from one o' those Polymer80 Spectre kits, and used that in my drill press, with the table height adjuster to push the body into the bit, and moving the wood around by hand to put the bit where I needed the wood gone.
    Scary as hell (more for the guitar, and not myself), but it did the job. (And surprisingly well, might I add.)

    • @GunsandGuitars
      @GunsandGuitars  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Nicholas Feeley dude I know exactly what you’re talking about! I’ve milled one of those polymer 80 lowers before. But routing a guitar that way seems a little jenky haha

    • @Sylencer1982
      @Sylencer1982 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Heh. A little, yeah.
      I had a nice, flat board to move it around on, though, so it wasn't *too* bad.
      It's the same motion as what you're doing, but instead of moving the tool I'm moving the workpiece.

    Hey dan. I hope you will see this. I have a pj bass with a single volume and 3 way toggle. I wired the SD tone circuit and triple checked all the connections and their respective locations.
    When I played, there was normal volume, but the preamp did nothing no matter were the knobs were turned. When the switch was set to passive, the entire signal was killed. I've tried every trick I know and still cant get any luck. Any advice?

    I've been your silent follower since last year.

    • @Da_Swifta

      Parts alone would probably cost more than that if you want a proper housing for it, but I mean it’s possible if you really tried. Though it’ll probably sound like ass.
      Would still be interesting to see just how cheap you can go for a build like this and still have it sound good.

    Another possible site for you to try one time, which if the kits are good quality, your custom business will shoot through the roof. Pitpull guitars in Austraila have opened a range of custom kits. While you can't change body shapes and stuff, you CAN change things like string number, scale lenght, hardware set ups, ect.
