      _The original, as it doesn't get better than Giorgio's record._

      They have been some great versions & remixes of this amazing song and they are still coming strong !! But the original still is the best 😊

    I Feel Love was a game changer for me. The first time I heard it, I felt a euphoria that I had never experienced before. It was more than simply hearing the song. It transported me to a place where all things are possible, and whatever i dreamed and imagined could actually be. It was like a feel good drug with no hangover. The combination of this rhythm along with Donna's smooth, soft yet strong, ethereal vocal was something that I knew would stay with me forever. And it has. Forty years later it still has the power and ability to take me away. That's pretty powerful stuff! I have never heard about any radio stations not wanting to play it though, due to any moaning? Wasn't it only Love To Love You Baby that experienced this? I don't actually hear moaning in I Feel Love, just a soaring vocal.

    I Feel Love was not one of the first disco songs. Disco had been around at least 3 years before that. It was, however, one of the first "electrified" disco songs. Until then the dominant instruments in disco music was mainly strings and horns. Also, Donna doesn't moan in I Feel Love, I think you may be confusing that with Love to Love You, Baby. Overall a fine video but i think you have some facts wrong.

      Still one of the first disco songs ever made in my opinion, at least one of the most famous ones ;-) And yes, you are right about the "Love To Love You Baby" one, I mixed those 2 up #oops

    Pure truth about Eno telling Bowie he heard "the sound of the future", listening to the first "I Feel Love" release by Giorgio Moroder. Bowie himself told that, during a 1990s interview.

    • @muzikxpress
      @muzikxpress  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cheers! And in the time this was made, there wasn't really "house music", but yes, lots of house (and other) DJ's still play this track. What a classic!

    • @robbygee2539
      @robbygee2539 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Before this, the closest thing to "House Music" was Kraftwerk. House music is samplings of someone else's work. That is probably how you make this connection. When this came out, people actually had talent. They played actual instruments and vocalized their own lyrics.

    Thanks I love to hear about behind the scenes stuff and how the 'mistake' with the base line helped make the beat so great and unique. I'd love to know how Donna came up with the lyrics and high floaty melody. Such a cool foil to the incessant mechanical repetitive rhythm.

    Disco started 1973-74. Def hit *hard tho by mid/late 74. TSOP, Rock The Boat, Love's Theme and some others ALL made in 1973 but 'crossed over' by mid 1974. Happened verry quickly. In barely ONE year u went from all post 60s folksy, monotone, bland, acoustic (NO bass, thumping beats etc..) hippy-ish songs all over the charts/radio. Only song (imo) that's totally 'Disco' (4 on the floor beats consistent as the key hooks) that crossed into the mainstream in '73 was 'The Love I Lost' in Nov. 1973.
    I Feel Love (made in 1976)=GAME changer for *electronic HI NRG, techno music in the 1980s and beyond!! Not at all a 'textbook disco song'. *Nothing like it recorded prior...at least that was any kind of mainstream hit.

      @@muzikxpress Well sorry, I respect your effort and channel and encyclopediae, but this song is not a disco song , it's not structurred as a disco song. It's a revolutionary electropop song. On the other side - Last dance is very much a disco piece. Disco songs didn't rely on electronic instruments.

    Orígenes del High Energy desarrollado y formado por el padre de este género Giorgio⚡Moroder y acuñado el nombre por Donna Summer 77 y la pista I Feel Love tema de música electrónica incluído en un LP de Summer que contenía musica que representara los años 40s,50s,60s dejando el último espacio del LP para un tema completamente diferente a los anteriores que representase el futuro de la musica siendo creado con ritmo y bases totalmente electrónicas pero algo diferente del Synthpop que Krafwerk venía trabajando desde inicios del 70, todo ello con raizes y orígenes totales de Música Electrónica. Moroder y Krafwerk (por citar algunos) fueron los maximos desarrolladores de este género en los 70s y de los pioneros en la transición de la Música Electrónica dura y rústica al concepto EDM siendo el High Energy la primera rama de esta escena junto al Synhpop...abriendo las puertas al desarrollo del EDM en los 80s con nuevas formas como el House, Techno, BreakDance, Eurobeat, New Beat, ItaloDisco etc...y un NRG y Synthpop ligeramente mas sofisticados
    PD: Las Raices Electrónicas relacionadas al NRG desde los conocedores provienen de pilares del electro como Gershon Kingsley, la escuela de Música Electrónica de Berlin (Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, Klaus Schulze etc), la cual era algo diferente de la escuela de Dusseldorf (Kraftwerk Cluster, Can, Neu!)
    Patrick Cowley y Bobby O. fueron grandes desarrolladores pero trabajaron sobre las bases del NRG de Moroder, el Synthpop de Krafwerk, el Space Disco (nombre relacionado al NRG) y bases de otros artistas y productores de música electrónica de los 70s, Patrick Cowley facinado por el NRG y el sonido I Feel Love realizó un remix dónde prácticamente aprendió más sobre este sonido y las bases Moroder...
