I met Donna Summer back in 1980 at Gelson's market in Westlake and she was driving a black Maserati. I approached her asking her, politely, "are you Donna Summer?" She replied, "Only when I want to be." I asked her for her autograph and she was so sweet and kind. She wasn't wearing an ounce of make-up and she was beautiful. She had on a skirt, and was wearing a wrap around sweater, and she had clogs on her feet. A natural beauty. R.I.P. pretty lady ❤
❤❤❤
Westlake Village, CA "?? Did you save the autograph"?? If so ...there are websites,,maybe even the Rock N Roll,"Hall of Fame in Ohio. Would love to have all autographs. "??
Yes. My neice has it :)
That's Beautiful ❤❤❤

This just goes to show you how we all have an expiration date... And how truly short of a time we are here
I was thinking of this too. ❤
"We are so lightly here!" - Leonard Cohen.
It's too short of time. It's a flash!
Amen 💯✝️🙏
Exactly.
I'm 63 and she was a star in my era of "girl's night out" dance time! I will forever be a Donna Summer fan ♥
Thanks for sharing your story. Donna was my aunt. I would travel across country to visit her when my mom was studying for her Masters and subsequent Doctorate degrees, it was an amazing time. I wasn’t born in 1980 but a few years after, and I know the EXACT, She was a great person and she was beside me BEFORE my birth, until her passing. This particular house is where, I had my college graduation party. Great memories. Kudos to you…Cheers!
Wow. She embodied my teenage years. Great music. Good memories.
She passed in 2012. The designer was way ahead of their time. Everything is still in style. Beautiful home
No so much in style any more
@@MariaDiaz-yj9xjbut not so far outdated. If you change out some of the fixtures, doorknobs, wall plates, it wouldn’t take much to modernize it.
The race track owner dude had it for 10 years so may have been remodelled,...
The house isn’t even 35 years old.it was built in 1995
@@MsBeautytoons Not me. I love beautiful and traditional. Classic. It's better than modernized crap any day!!
I am comforted to know she spent her final years living in the palace that she so rightly deserves. She was much loved and is madly missed.😢 😢😢

She most certainly worked hard for her money. She stayed on top of her earning potential.. Good singers.."!!
She sang about whore's and "bad girls" to afford this crap. Toot, toot, yeah, beep beep......
You can tell this was probably remodeled by the race car driver who purchased the house from Donna Summer’s estate.
Yes..appears..someone did somethings to the home...
Did not like the blue rooms
Or the one with orange and blue
I actually worked on this house and property back in 2006-07. I helped lay the reclaimed wood flooring and painted trim in the room. Also painted the fencing around the property. Can't believe it sat unused for so long.
You're such a good carpenter

Where is the house located?
The floors are fabulous

The mirrors are probably for dancing. Donna was pure class. I cried my butt of when I heard she died. I didn't know she was sick. Rest in peace sweet disco queen! 💕💕💕💕
I thought that or perhaps a gym.
I thought maybe a ballroom.
I feel honored that you showed us The Queen's mansion. In the 70s many of us danced for hours in the discos to her incredible music.

The kitchen, great room, and master bedroom with bath were breathtaking. Actually Donna Summers had great taste in choosing her mansion & music. After all she worked hard for her money. RIP Donna Summers.
Most everything in the kitchen can be salvaged, reused. Makes me happy to realize she enjoyed her dream house. She was a beautiful lady, amazing singer. I danced to her music during the late 70s,early 80s. The disco days.
You hate to see a house like that demolished, especially, the home of Donna Summer. As a kid growing up in the 70's, she was such an inspiration as an artist and the music just kept you believing good things were bound to happen. At least for me anyways. R.I.P Donna Summer.

Most if not all abandoned mansions are decaying but this one is PRESTIGIOUS! All that is too Beautiful to demolish it's a heritage building. She was definitely living the dream😪
This house is endless, I feel like I'm at IKEA, I love it! The kitchen, the primary closet, the balconies, the staircase(all of them), the privacy, it just kept on giving.
The mirror part of it is the most freaky.
Ikea? They have cheap stuff.
IKEA??? No.
I can't believe such a beautiful home being demolished!!! What a shame!!!! 😢
It is not being torn down! Repeat, it is not being torn down! A developer bought it and is subdividing the 40 acres to build more home on it. Donna's house will be left and only have 2-2.5 acres with it and the new owners can restore and update the house.
thank you for this insightful information! I was scared as there doesn't seem to be any reason to demolish such a prestigious home.
@@alexandergrande And besides, it can be used a tourist attraction as the former home of the late: Donna Summer.

She was a five time Grammy award winner. She was only 63 when she passed away. So much talent to be gone so soon. RIP.
And she just received her Lifetime Grammy Achievement award in February and is set to have “I Feel Love” inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. She still has so much impact even after death
It is sad to see her house empty! I'm pretty Donna and her family and created a lot of memories there!
Wow she was so young, her mansion is gorgeous 👍🏻
WHY??? TEMODLE SELL IT !!!!
My favorite song by Donna Summer is "On the Radio". It was the main song in a late 1970s or early 1980s movie called Foxes, I think. I think that Jodie Foster was in it. I still listen to the song every few months or so on TH-cam. She had such a beautiful, natural voice.
Incredible… Amazing to virtually tour a 20K sq ft custom home owned by an icon … Donna Summers💐 Attention to detail in every sq ft possible. One could only imagine the fabulous life that she once had with her family. and friends 🌹❤️🦋🤩🌟❣️
It’s beyond perfection how some of the paint, woodcraft and artistry still looks like new to this day!
It’s a shame for it to be bull dozier down. REST IN PEACE DONNA SUMMERS, You music will last forever💫
It is very very sad after someone else purchase the property did not respect this property to the level that it deserve … Awful
I really enjoyed this tour. Good job… Good work…Well Done..💯💯💯💯💯
The Queen of Disco had exquisite taste, though still not overboard. Her house has a calming energy, so beautiful. She worked hard to get where she was, bless her beautiful soul. I bet she loved this house. I can imagine her in these rooms being the fabulous icon she was. Thanks for sharing.
This is what Jonny Cash met in his last video, my empire of dirt. Whatever we do in life whether it be magnificent such as Donna Summer or myself an RN with a modest 70"s built tri level house. Our lives are short and everything that we acquire stays here on this earth and will decay with time. Actually, the most important thing is having a relationship with Jesus.

Yes, thanks for your reply & I am aware of her being private & her ‘ROOTS’ are Pentecostal being rooted in Jesus Christ; in the disco age she kinda moved away from that & she would be the very first person to admit that; nevertheless, she returned back & she talked about it in several interviews; and if I might add: I don’t believe Donna Summer would care about anymore privacy now!

In the song "MacArthur Park", the phrase "the cake is melting in the rain" is a metaphor for the end of a love affair. The song's writer, Jimmy Webb, has said that the song is symbolic and that everything in it is based on things he actually saw in MacArthur Park, a real park in Los Angeles.

As a person who did home construction it's really a shame that this would be destroyed. The work a craftsmanship that went in to this house is exceptional. I hope they re- perperous as much as they can. I never understood what people need with so much room. ( Even going back to the days of castles.) Nice video! 🌲🌲 🎼

Why would anyone want to destroy such a beautiful home?
That Kitchen is phenomenal!!
It's got to be save and put up for sale. Way too nice of a house to just face a wrecking ball!
for one, property taxes would be a lot lower without a livable structure. Taxing municipalities assess the land and any structures on said land. No structures=nothing to tax
Because the developer can make millions by creating a subdivision of modest homes vs one giant home few can afford on 40 acres of land no one uses
Exactly 💯
There was a comment made that it’s not going to be torn down . I hope that’s true
This house is just wow. I love it

Why couldn't they just build around it. It's the most beautiful home I've seen. Thank you for the touring adventure.
Absaloutely it's beautiful looks brand new.
It should've been made into a clubhouse! It's gorgeous!
I totally agree! Build around the home 🏠. It would keep the home 🏠 values up ⬆️ in the area.

It makes me sad the building was only there for 30 years. Built in 1995 and slated to be torn down in 2025. So much money spent for such a short time.
Then it's still not too late to setup a petition to stop the demolition.
I don't understand why would they tear that place down it's very live able
I was thinking the same 😢
And for cookie-cutter homes😢
Why does nobody read previous threads the house is not being demolished.A developer is building house on the estate and selling the main house with 2.5 acres of land
Bless the precious memory of Donna Summer, and Bless her family ❤❤❤
You did a fantastic job showing us all of these rooms and every part of this mansion! Fantastic filming and editing guys. One of my favorite abandoned homes. Yes huge! Thank you! 💜
Great job! Wish they would donate the cabinets, ceilings tubs, sinks fireplaces, etc. Before tearing down. Beautiful home!
Maybe they will….hope they do😊
Hope so its such a waste. 😊
Oh for sure, gut the place. All of the kitchen appliances. The granite countertops. The lighting. Anything reusable!
They actually do donate the stuff. they get a company to remove all of the things that is inside before demolition
Other builders and remodeling contractors will purchase those items. The tile, cabinets, appliances, beam's.. That's a lot of money...😊❤
I absolutely loved Donna Summer as a child! She always exuded such elegance! I can't believe they've opted to tear it down as opposed to finding a perspective buyer. The craftsmanship is outstanding... it's definitely worth saving! ❤
youre older than a 1$ loaf of bread
It might need work but I think this is doable. They should never knock it down. Just need some t l c.
@@italianwaterice9594 Which matches what your personality is worth
Yea. It sucks that it’s being demolished as beautiful as it is but it’s very expensive and personalized.
Should have been a landmark & preserved. I’m imagining all sorts Grammys and Imaga awards and tons of others awards adorning the walls along with album covers and just a musical haven and historic escape.
@@donnastephan8828 Who ever bought it looked at all the empty land around it and decided a whole housing development was better suited to go up on it. They'd rather demolish and tear down one structure on 40 Acres of land.
One of THE most tasteful mansions that I have seen you visit, it actually feels like it could feel “homey” too. What an extraordinary place! Sorry to see it come down. Thanks Big Bankz, from Ontario Canada
The chandeliers are exquisite and different, very tasteful. That huge closet is amazing! Just think all the clothes and shoes she had in there. The master bathoom also was so nice. I love her porch area outside. Just beautiful and so huge. Glad to see something so beautiful.
That closet is bigger then my one bedroom apartment! Such a sad waste to tear this down!
Oh my mind is conjuring up all the beautiful gowns, coats, stage outfits, hats, shoes, jewelry and handbags that filled that master closet once upon a time. What a gorgeous mansion! Ive always been a huge fan of Donna Summer since I was a little girl. Thanks for showing us a tour of her home. Just stunning!💕👏
Ur hurting me for stuff
....and lingerie from the album cover. Keep it real now.....
She work hard for her 💰 money she deserves it and I am glad she enjoyed it too. May her beautiful soul rest in perfect peace 🕊
Thanks for this! I have never seen your channel. I am a retired designer and love this house. You do a great job pointing everything out and explaining the layout as much as you know. You surely have done this a lot. Find a realtor to give you a basic tour of these properties and all the general descriptions of the detailing throughout! Most experienced realtors would jump at the chance for any free advice in exchange for a mention in the description. It would really enhance the tour as you go knowing what some areas could be used for as well as some basic architectural features. For example...the pantries by the dining room. One would no doubt be full of silver and china for serving a large dinner party. Your readers can imagine the opulence. It would take a full kitchen staff to prepare and serve formal occasions and maybe a cook and server or housekeeper for every day....etc. Have fun and enjoy your explorations!
The reason the windows are boarded up is to keep them from being broken. Before they tare it down they will remove the windows and counters , cabinets, the lights and all the sinks , anything they can save. And they will sell it or reuse it in other properties or donate it to Habitat For Humanity
I was thinking there are so many beautiful fixtures that could be repurposed or sold, as well as the literal tons of gorgeous granite!! Love the style!
God I really hope you're right. Sickening to think as so much of it is salvageable. 🍻
Why won't no one buy it someone could at least turn it into a drug rehab center or temporary home for homeless people until they get on there feet America waste so much money on stupid things like funding wars. Keep going into space nothing is out here already geesh.
They're boarded up to keep people out 😂
This is an amazing mansion...so much space...the bathrooms are beautiful and the kitchen is amazing... beautiful property can't believe it's going to be demolished...what a waste some of us can only dream of living or owning something so amazing
So many things can be salvaged. Light fixtures, appliances, iron work like the staircase railing, even doors, windows, so much inside and out, what a shame.
Can’t understand why the house has to be demolished! It just needs minimal cleaning and should either be made a museum, clubhouse, etc. Disco! 40 acres of land can still be used to make developers cookie cutter homes.
I would not want a house that big! You did an excellent job on this tour! Thank you for making this video!
My thoughts exactly! Way too big.
I also was a fan from the first time I heard her sing , a sweet soul you could see in her eyes and a massive soulful voice . It was a gift from God .I don’t think she ever hit a wrong note . I will miss her always.

I don't understand how something this magnificent and beautiful could be torn down, especially considering it was once Donna Summer's! I wish someone could have bought this mansion & property and made it another home!
So just because "Donna Summer" was the owner, that's supposed to make a difference on whether it's torn down or not? Grow up! Just because someone works in the entertainment industry, that doesn't make them any more special than anyone else. They are all just normal people at the end of the day... nothing more!

Many moons 🌙 ago I was a nanny in the mid 80's...around 1985. I attended a huge party right next to Donna Summer's home in Bellhaven, CT (part of Greenwich, CT proper) a beautiful area. Her house shared the same checkpoint with the one I was visiting. Her mansion was beautiful and I remember it featured a huge outdoor rectangular shaped swimming 🏊♀️ pool. From our perspective it looked like it backed up to Long Island Sound. I'm sure in actuality there was some distance between the two. However, it made for a spectacular view with the lights, the twinkling night's stars, the long beautiful pool, and a stunning view overlooking Long Island Sound. I'll never forget it.

Mirrored walls in basement was most likely an exercise room/dance studio. Thank you! I loved the tour and enjoyed seeing the opulence. I loved her songs! Enjoyed the dream imagining her in each room living her life.
Oh and to add after watching further, the opposite side of the gigantic closet and master bedroom on the 2nd floor, the first room you came into was probably her glam room where she had hair and makeup help her get ready for events. Donna was an icon and very glamorous so she would have big spaces for her clothing dating back to the 1970s, costumes with her everyday clothes. And I know what all the spaces in the dressing room are for.
Plus the unfinished back area looks like a planned recording studio that just didn't happen. I agree, it's too bad it's being demoed instead of restored and lived in. It's so beautiful.

The land developer who bought her mansion, should not be tearing it down, to build cookie cutter homes. He should build a gated community housing, & use that mansion for the offices, put in a pool, & use it as venue, for pool parties, & game rooms, & Weddings for people who live there.
Donna moved to this area because she enjoyed the kindness of the local people and the respect of community when she once visited. Fun fact - in that garage, she rekindled her hobby of painting. It’s generally called a ‘family room’ right off of the kitchen in a house that size and then you generally have a formal living room and dining room in the front when you come in or sometimes a study is in the front too. The room with the sconces on the wall was probably an office.
I LOVE that closet space. Boy could I use that.😍

Donna, had elegant taste … I love it ❤ Rest In Peace beautiful talented lady 🙏
I hate when those big corporations come in and tear down a building so beautiful & put up houses that are ticky ticky tacky and they all look just the same. That house is absolutely gorgeous!!!💜💜💜
Me too, and it is a beautiful home
If I pay for a house and tear it down is my business and nobody else’s! BUT IT IS NOT BEING RAZED.
Ahaaaa WEEDS!!!😂
@@JoeMama-eg4zv ???
You remember that song too! I still sing it when I see ticky-tacky new developments!
👍👍👍 another great video! This house is huge. Scary huge actually. Imagine being there alone on a stormy night. Yikes. But i don't care for the floor plan of this house. Id definitely change so much. Huge home. Cool blue rooms.
Breaks my heart to see houses left like this please say it not really being demolished im sure donna would be mortified all the love and dedication gone into it awee bless ❤❤
I believe that room in the basement with mirrors all over was likely a gym. Having a dry sauna and a shower right there next to the mirror maze would make sense that it was used as a gym…at least to me, lol
Or a dance room. Most dancer use mirrors to watch their steps and routines
She was a dancer, singer, entertainer and I'm sure the mirrors were for her to practice in front of. She was the Queen of Disco!
I danced to all of her songs! Great memories!
It was actually a recording studio
She was so glamorous! Rest peacefully, you worked hard for the money and we can see that!!! xoxo
She also lived to spend the money one could say😅😅😅😅😅...🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 rip....
Very cool 😁 Thanx for the tour my friend 😛
I cant believe they would knock down that beautiful home. Loved the parquet flooring ❤ and the big walk in ...every girls dream ❤
Absolutely breathe taking!! This should be historically saved. She was a beautifully person inside and out. When I have to clean house I put her music on. I get a lot done. God bless you Donna.
It's rare for such a big house to be so welcoming. My favorite rooms were the kitchen (what's not to like?), and the closet/dressing room. I'm thinking that all of the strange rooms/spaces on the second floor were kid's bedrooms and play rooms, though I have a hard time imagining why they would design them like that. The basement was strange. I fully expected to see a home theatre and a pool room (the kind of pool you play on a pool table), but the rooms are so generic it's hard to say. Donna Summer was such a massive talent - she was a major part of my collige days - disco wouldn't have been disco without Donna. You should have had more time with us Donna. Thanks for the music. RIP.

Shocked it did'nt have a pool! 32:30 Walk in attic space. It's a shame to see her home of only 30 yrs demolished! Too bad they couldn't have made it into a museum. She was such a legend. Thank you for such a special upload!
