As someone in architecture I can say that the grass roof trend is partly aesthetic and partly an exploration of more climate-friendly and vernacular building techniques. 👌

As an architecture student also, my aim is to not stick a green roof on every project because my tutors keep giving me the stink eye at this point 😂

I don't think there can ever be too many plants. I love to add plants in every room and all over the outside of my builds! I love what you did.
I’m laughing so hard. This is me when I’m building small houses. It’s like “oh, is this too much kitchen? Wait, why did X disappear? Wtf, this was working a moment ago! Oh, plants, where can I put more plants??” Debug plants are amazing for doing living roofs, because there’s more colour variations, and they size differently than the other ones. I’m loving this design!!

As both a Simmer and a graduated architecture student (current electrical designer), can confirm Green Roofs are the Best and plants should go everywhere. Have an empty wall? Make it a living wall! There's actual places downtown that have turned their rooftops into apiaries too, and while IRL they tend to be more tamed / manicured, the more wild, overgrown look here is so good! A very nice build Simsie
As a Canadian who has been gardening in my dining room out of desperation to have some green in my life, I love the idea of having a garden roof. I’d turn my whole house into a greenhouse if I could 😂
I dont understand the thing with every sims builder and "too much color" like its so okay to do as much color as you want and can fit! It doesn't make it look bad to have more colors! There are plenty of good neutral or black and white everything homes. I want more builds where people use all of the colors! I build what I can in my own sims game with the packs I have but id love to see some really bright builds that aren't the room color challenges.

This build was suggested for me on the gallery last week so I got it and I found out I can have access to the pre order items even though I didn’t pre order eco lifestyle. So I finally have the bike ive always wanted.
I don't believe eco lifestyle had pre order items? The only pre order bike exclusive so far came with Cottage Living. The bike in this build is however locked in debug unless you find it in a dumpster in gameplay so you may not have "found" it :)

Apparently the planter and the bike from what google says. But I didn’t preorder either pack and was able to get the content from the gallery so I’m not sure
Even if you don’t preorder, all the game files for the preorder stuff come with the pack so you have them, they’re just not unlocked. There’s a mod that unlocks them all for you. But the bike you’re talking about is unlocked through gameplay, so if you want it in your builds you can open the cheat menu and put in bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement

This tiny house is so cosy and comforting after spending the past week playing in the 8000 simoleon bills behemoth I'm using for my alphabet baby challenge 😭 I might have some of the kids move into it.

I have once read that using lots of green walls would actually be better than green roofs! Simply because we still have the benefits from all the greenery but it doesn't weigh down down on the building. I can't remember exactly anymore but the watering system was also explained and had some pros to it and I just really like the idea of having green walls almost everywhere
there are actually so many real benefits for plants in buildings or even on roofs! as an architecture student, plants on roofs allows you to take advantage of all of the empty space that would just serve no purpose, and have a garden! plants inside help with air quality and can improve overall mental and physical health :)) biophilic design is the best
i honesty don’t know why the plants are such a huge part in sims houses. realistically, nobody is putting that many plants in their house, especially not in the dark corners of their closet 😭😭 they’re just so cute
This build would be perfect for like an older apiarist couple. Would explain all the flowers everywhere for the bees etc. The couple probably come from a farming/produce/carpentry background but as they’ve aged they’ve had to cut back on what work they can manage so the settled on a smaller (possibly self built?) house and still kept up a hobby like beekeeping to keep them busy.
green roof tops are very environmentally friendly and its cute. i think all houses should be like this

I love it! Your green rooftops look amazing! I make them A LOT but usually end up using CC plants to get it to look like this, and here you showed me I absolutely do not need to use the CC plants! Thank you! Love the build, and thank you for all you do. :)
I loved the video, I feel like you're really putting effort into your videos. It takes a lot to think of a different video idea every day, and I love when you do stuff like this and make different types of buildings. I'd love to see you experiment more with new building styles and themes and aesthetics. Just an idea, as i prefer your builds when you do not limit money 😊

I love the house. I like green rooftop more than regular roofs. Unrelated subject but I dont know why people use that ecolifestyle door with thick frame inside the house. I think that door is to be use only on the exterior. It doesnt make sense have that thick ornamentation in the inside.

Plants are such a savior for builds- I have so much custom content plants just so I have some really good choices for builds-
Simsie said she's so afraid to build a house for her next NSB gen, cause it's orange & she doesn't really like that color that much (or the objects).
But she honestly did so well here & tried so many new different things in this build,
that I hope she incoperates them in her legacy^^
Simsie! Love your builds :D, an "architect" tip for some of the plain roofs, try placing a halfwall that sticks out a little (in real life its around 2-3 inches tall) for more realism, in spanish the term is pretil.
The wall planter thing that look bad is actually meant to be fake grass! it adds to the "i made this"

2:45 is like me with all my builds
I'm doing all the things (walls, floors, objects etc) of Eco Lifestyle having like Eco Footprint +2, Eco friendly +2 and cost reducing object, beds and other things will have more comfort points than normal, stress reduced etc. Lights will be lighty but they won't spend any electricity.
The power generator will be able to generate electricity, but it will have a +2 Ecological Footprint and be a +2 Eco-friendly, cost-saving object. I'm using Sims 4 Studio for that, when I finish it I'll publish it for you.
I have been doing it for years😂 I usually do not know how to make the roof work, so that's the best solution for me
