Noel plays and riffs everything into pieces, the whole thing is like a freight train - pulled by an overheating engine, just on the fringe of getting out of control - running straight through the room. It's fantastic.
Baffles me wheb people say oasis wasnt any good or there "crap". Theyre not though are they, quite clearly. The most important band to come out of the 90s. These are the reason i play guitar also. Will never get tired of them. Incredible life changing band
Out of Britain sure but they only really have a legacy of Wonderwall and maybe Champagne Supernova every now and then over here in the states. I love Oasis but I can't imagine anyone from over here picking them as the most important band of the 90's over a band like Nirvana or Green Day. Again I love Oasis but as absolutely unbelievably massive as they were/are in England they just didn't really have that huge of sticking power over here. Still more than Blur though lol
Im seeing this from a English point of view. Here in England i definitely think they are the most important band to come out of england in the 90s. I get it, they never cracked American really they blew that chance. So i can see why the americans dont see them as an inspirational band like we do.... you mentioned Nirvana, now i think they are overrated i dont get it with that band. Soon as i hear them on the radio it gets turned off.
@@JammerAma Great commentary from the both of you. Oasis's great B sides never get any airlplay here in the states...it's only Wonderwall or C. supernova. too bad because they have some great stuff. I mean Supersonic should get played as often as In Bloom or Come as you are.
I live in the States and learned guitar by playing along with Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory. I now teach at a music school similar to School of Rock. I'm teaching one of my bands Supersonic right now. There aren't many of us in the USA.
This is a Great live version of Supersonic....the up-tempo arrangement is fantastic with great feel & energy ! A superb demonstration of the power & energy of this rockin' band live in concert.
First modern band of classic rock'n'roll I've heard at 96, through a friend. He told me about this celebration, then I'm here. Congrats and thanks for gave us wonderful songs. We dream with a return with this formation. Greetings from Caxias do Sul, Brazil.
Limelight was a great venue back in the early 90s,great up and coming bands played in the 90s,then 2 Thompsons Garage to finish the morning off, memories 🎉🎉🎉
I realize this is unrelated to the music, but is at least tangentially related to your comment…I’m an American, but Irish ethnically, so I’d tend to hear about the bigger things going on over there from my older relatives, grandparents, etc…And I have to say, referring to decades plus of terrible bloodshed as simply “The Troubles” always seemed like one of the most Irish fucking things possible, lol. Not making light of the situation at all, but it ends up sounding like why you were late for work after getting stuck in traffic, or that your son got in a fight at school-“Ah, we had a bit of the troubles goin’ on there dearie, you understand.”
@@mywhychromosome i know what you mean lol i was born in 1982 grew up in west belfast beside the springfield road army barracks. More than 7 or 8 times as a kid we would be out playing in the street then youd hear shots going off or the barracks being bombed and all us kids would rush into the nearest house. mad times, scary times, everyone has had loved ones murdered, army in the street every day, it became normal.
@@BelfastManUtdTherapy Wow, I can’t even imagine…truly like growing up in a war zone, just not the ones people always think of. I’ve never experienced anything similar up close, except for the inevitable American “Hey!! Remember 9/11??”, which of course was absolute madness (I grew up in NYC) and we had the armed soldiers in the streets and subways in the streets for a time, but it didn’t last long, and then it was just back to the same ol’ business as usual, as we love to do. Although Oasis was just as awesome here as on the other side of the pond, lol. And the one advantage I suppose is eventually getting to see them really up close, especially Noel by himself
@@mywhychromosome lucky man I'd love to meet Noel I've met Liam afew times and have a photograph of him kissing my ex gf for a laugh, long story il stick it up on the channel for a laugh this week 6 hours away from the official reunion announcement
I wasn't there but I say I was, as everyone of my age in Belfast does. Thank you two cnts for playing music together again. See you again for the first time.
Their music will still be played in a hundred years, timeless, , lucky enough to have done Maine Road 1st night, Knebworth and Earls court 1st night Live forever❤
How is this song 30years old??? I remember Dad bringing home DefMayb, smacking it on the cd player, I was only ten but I remember thinking this sound is fucking amazing! Was a fan since then, & very lucky 10years ago I met Liam in a pub in Crouch End, he was lovely, absolute gent. I even nicked a cigarette off him!!! Big Love to Liam, Noel & Oasis - the sound of a generation.
i was there. thanks oasis for putting it up. what a gig! and the gig was on the day that definitely maybe went to no1... and then back into school the following day. ( thanks to Paul McC for selling me his ticket so i could go)
Ever since i heard Supersonic live on the Live Forever single, I was in love and never looked back. These two songs remain my favourites of all time today. So nice to hear another 94 live version in decent fidelity. 🩵
I walked into The Limelight that night believing they were the band to inherit the Roses vacant throne. I walked out after knowing they were going to be the biggest band in the World!
@@BelfastManUtdTherapyThe ceasefires hadn't come into effect yet. There was a car bomb (nowhere near the gig) that night. A journalist for one of the music mags tried to claim the venue rocked from it that night. Total crap, I was there and no one had the foggiest.
Just Pure Raw Classic Sounding Rock n Roll with that vibe that only Oasis could pull off. Awesome timeless music that’ll get listened to for another 30 years. ✌️👍✌️
Actually sounds pretty interesting with Tony pushing the tempo like this, almost turns it into a borderline punk song when you combine with the extra-waves of distortion Noel was using here as well and the rest of the other elements-even though the whole, “We’re gonna play as slow as we fucking want, like we’re trudging through rock and roll mud, all while barely moving and somehow still seeming cool as fuck” was a big part of their iconic swagger, lol
Straight into my adolescence!❤😅 Thank you very much for having made this masterpiece, today it is part of my morning playlist to start the day. Love you so much OASIS, big hug from Paraguay ❤🇵🇾
I've always liked the sped-up live versions of Supersonic with the long solos. This is a another good one. Happy anniversary, Oasis.

Oasis Will never die!! Forever alive in our souls!!
The best first single in history
*the best
It can be
@rizlahillofficial Nah. Lennon-McCartney > Noel G. Cope.
best nightclub too back in the day, many a great time in the limelight!
White Riot, In the City or I Can't Explain might have a thing or two to say about that.
Thank you very much indeed, Oasis, for all you did for our lives (54 y.o. Italian man here) !
This is what started the greatest band in history!

The Beatles but oasis is the next best thing
