So this is a very long uncut video of my first impressions of Farming Simualtor 2025 We go from starting the game, to checking out all the settings and basically just a brand new player experience with startup and first look at the visuals and settings. I then go into info on the games visual effects followed by gameplay and machine inspections. I also cover and look at the newly added trees and tree physics fairly in depth, we test out chainsaws and tree dropping comparing how they react to the terrain. If you survive the whole video you deserve a prize but I wanted to show you guys honest uncut opinions on my first fire up of the game just like an unboxing video haha Now the real work begins, The mods will not being coming super fast, lots of learning and things to adjust in order to get that same great feeling we have in FS22 with FDR Logging mods. So please be patient I promise it will be worth the wait!
I was able to put a log through the ground too, and I just have the normal game. Logging in this game has been frustrating. I like that they created smaller more affordable saw mills. Excited for your mods
American map was disappointing but Asian map is actually good. The hills around starting farm and Temple are full of pine trees. I like the temple area because it has some nice mud even on the road, so you get nice ground deformation all over
Buy a piece of land, cut down the trees and process them. Then you have land to plant all the saplings you want. I did this on The Isolated Valley in FS22 and about a year or so after, I had over 80 big 34+ meter spruce trees. I have a video where I'm cutting them down with a Timber Pro forestry machine. You can see those trees all over the place.j

I am absolutely stoked. I was at a concert last night, but I got home and played for more than an hour and barely got any sleep last night. I'm very sad that the Komatsu metal tracked harvester is gone, among a few other machines, but rice and the Asian map were enough for me, ground deformation is just a bonus.
So the chainsaws and spray cans are no longer tied to your person specifically. They are now objects that can be transferred between inventories. So you can have an inventory slot on the harvesters, forwarders, pickups, whatever. There are now also tool sheds to store the items in, so you can buy a couple chain saws and share them around with your farm hands.
That’s awesome we’re moving in that direction but I was really hoping for tools to work on stuff. Like take tires off or change oil and filters. Some day lol
I agree about the tree physics, they really need to improve them. But I will say the agricultural farming in the fields is pretty awesome in this game now. A lot better than 22 was.
@ Mostly visual effects and graphics but also the implementation of Guidance Steering and GPS for the AI worker and also the look of the swath from combines and mowers that drops onto the ground looks so much better than in 22. They even improved how balers pickup swaths as you’re making bales in the fields. So mostly smaller changes but changes for the better in my opinion.
One thing i want to point out is that everything that is new in this game was a mod in fs22 that you could get for free and in most cases it was better in fs22
Your right about the physics on the trees beeing spliced up, now when i stack wood in the trailers its way better for me than vanilla fs22, loading up logs from the ground is way easier with a tractor and frontloader. Interesting to see how you go through and evaluate things in a way I don't even consider, I like it 👍 For me just doing simple logging in FS 25 it feels much better than in FS 22, this time around I can actually load trailers without the logs shifting around in the trailer in a weird way, it feels easier to grab the logs with the equipment I've tried so far, the trailers don't tip over by just looking hard at them so I can actually play without having worry about them tipping over. The only time I tipped a trailer so far was when overreaching with the crane arm fully extended and grabbing 4 logs (one of the trailers with their own crane), but it could be straightened up again by moving the arm to the other side of the trailer. I am probably way more casual about it than many though, but to me it feels like a big improvement from FS 22 even if the physics isn't like real life, but that I never expected from the farming simulator series anyway. So far for me it has a good balance of simulator and game that makes it enjoyable for me, and not frustrating that it was in FS 22.

I will never pay the full price for this state. Maybe for 50% discount, by then there will be probably alot of well established mods that will make it a better experience. I came to learn about cutting down tress. I stayed because i was learning how the game works and its mechanics. Still not sure what the best method is to deal with Wood.
I just watched someone who was having fun for the first few days here quit over the state of trees. She wanted to clear about a dozen trees to expand the cow pasture and it took around 6 hours. In the days preceding, she was truly enjoying the game. The whole process for landscaping trees is an exercise in sheer frustration. Felling works alright, but each stump could take upwards of 15 to 20 minutes. You have to reposition your entire machine constantly while trying ram and glitch the stump grinder into the right coordinate of the stump that finally allows for the script to trigger. Then the wood chipper is just another exercise in frustration because pieces you put in will run clear through the conveyor without, once again, ever triggering the grind/chip script to delete the piece of wood so you have to sit there waiting what feels like an eternity to feed, and re-feed, and re-feed, and re-feed each odd shaped piece at the exact perfect angle on the conveyor so it hits the grinder perfectly in order to trigger the script. It's just too much BS for so little gain. And lets face it, placing buildings isn't a super friendly experience either with zero ability to adjust even fencepost after the fact. I think they saw that and looked at how many other buildings they might want to put down over the course of playing and gave up.
FS22 has a better hud, better default controls, better PHYSICS, more default tractors ... . The graphics in 25 are marginally better and can easily be achieved with shader mods and higher resolution assets in 22. By the time 25 feels as polished *couch couch* as 22 does now and has a comparable amount of content and mods it will be 2 years later. Same engine with the same old jacket that has been refurbished + dummyfied UI (its gotta look like a console game). This isn't even low effort it's no effort... .
Enjoying the game so far. It looks great. And yeah, they totally screwed up de-limbing with the chainsaw. Its so janky now. And I have no idea why they changed front loader controls either.... frustrating.
The lack of logging trees is concerning. And the tree physics make me even more worried. I really hope this is just a early access version of FS25 and they will fix all these issues. The ice skating effect is bad. Really bad....

Wondering if you go into TM (game controller) properties. You can change farmstick from right to left. Wonder if it shows left in game. Also try changing moddisc in you Fs22 input bindings mod and it may just work.
it calls them both right, but you don't need to select between them when setting the controls, clicking on either and pushing a button will set it to whichever side
the ground deformation is both extremly cool and disappointing because it seems to only happen in fields you own/ have a contract to work in, but at the same time that just seems to be the state of the game its great in some ways and a major downgrade in others
Well so it seems they have taken out the pushing of trees together out (grrrrrr) they should never have done that, as for the rolling of trees they never rolled in FS22, and the ground deformation should of taken effect with the cat, but is it because it was on tracks or did you turn it off as you can do that, ? maybe you didn't know, well I will wait for one of your forest maps come out, hopefully you will include it
Can you or one of your mod buddies make a truck with a pintle hitch plz? all the trucks in the game from the mods and none had a pintle to tow a trailer for a tractor but they all have a ball hitch and you can't hook to a any trailers but like 2 or 3 very small ones.

the ground deformation is both extremly cool and disappointing because it seems to only happen in fields you own/ have a contract to work in, but at the same time that just seems to be the state of the game its great in some ways and a major downgrade in others
No clip is not a development thing which is very annoying
yikes
The lack of limbing trees is not ok, in FS22 it was easy now my chainsaw will not limb any tree
Console mods?
Trees suck so far but the mulching heads are utterly useless, chipper is difficult as well, seems like mulching drum hit boxes are super small
This is comparing to the liebherr track loader mod from FS22
Not a developer thing btw .... :(
I’m very excited. When do the mods come out
Well so it seems they have taken out the pushing of trees together out (grrrrrr) they should never have done that, as for the rolling of trees they never rolled in FS22, and the ground deformation should of taken effect with the cat, but is it because it was on tracks or did you turn it off as you can do that, ? maybe you didn't know, well I will wait for one of your forest maps come out, hopefully you will include it
Just wish you could remove the large stumps and trees.... And be able to clear all trees
Lol they bursted your ears out
The camera has been too high in every machine for the last 15 years.
Can you or one of your mod buddies make a truck with a pintle hitch plz? all the trucks in the game from the mods and none had a pintle to tow a trailer for a tractor but they all have a ball hitch and you can't hook to a any trailers but like 2 or 3 very small ones.
This game was such a dissapoitment man... I was really hoping for something more here... 3 years is a long time for this to release.
Bring your John Deere bunchers back🔥🤘
I'm hoping I can just copy my Input / Binding XML file from 22 over into the 25 Folder and it will behave itself.
I didn't even try that, But testing this morning the bindings file still loads in all my FDR Inputs, I just set them all myself but so far so good
will you be making any mods for consoles again miss your mods on console
So far not excited about it. but then it's not a logging game. I can set it on very high graphics and get great frame rates better than FS22.
Why’s everyone get so mad at this game? It’s fun either way I enjoy it people keep saying copy paste tbh idc if it is games been fun since I started playing with fs11!
