I thought I was like one of the only ones that wasn’t a huge fan of fireball. And I love cinnamon. Also with the Screwball...try adding some to an American stout. The chocolate flavor and peanut butter obviously works. And the sweetness of Screwball is cut a bit by the bitter stout

Actually used to drink Southern Comfort way back in the 70s . Then one night after I finished off my SC I decided to drink some of my lady friends Sloe Gin . All right, I'm only 4 1/2 minutes or so into the video and I must take some exception to the mint julep critique. My wife and I just visited Louisville in early summer and discovered is a distinct, stark difference between the julep syrup designed to make fast cocktails versus the dedicated bartenders that freshly make a fine mint julep. In addition, how dare you with blaspheming egg nog, sirs! Even if I prefer my nog with tequila. Love the content, as always, and especially loving the atmospheric ambiance.
Thanks for taking one for the team. A true purist May hate anything flavored, but if you know what you’re getting into I think they can be pretty great. Evan Williams honey with some ginger ale is awesome on a hot day. TH-cam seemed to give Knob Creek Smoked Maple so much, but for something sweet with a kick, I really enjoyed it.
Ok, I am sitting here watching this video. While watching, I have the urge to release some gas. I lean over, let it rip, sit back up right and enjoy the relieved feeling I have now. 5 seconds later, what do I hear? Daniel asking Rex, "What does that smell like to you?" Talk about perfect timing.
This episode made me sad as a Yukon Jack fan lol its great as a mixer for summer drinks. Sunny D and Yukon Jack is a good combo even. (pls don't roast me I'm new)
So, what you said at 16:45 about adding flavored to regular whiskey is true. I have an infinity bottle going, where I added 2oz of this and that. I recently added 2 oz of the Knob Creek Maple and it completely overpowered everything else. Have since added 2 or 3 more things and the maple is still there lol
I been wondering for some time now. I have and had some whiskey bottles that’s I have never opened. I’m a control environment where I keep my whiskey collection and noticed that a few bottles have condensation inside the bottles. Is this bad? I have also noticed at some liquor stores. I was wondering if you guys can make an episode detailing on why it happens and does it affect the whiskey inside the bottle regardless if it has never been opened. I and I’m sure everyone else would love to hear your take on this. FYI… I’m a been a big fan of yours for the past 4 years. Thank you in advance and keep up the great work in educating people like me.
My wife loves the salted caramel. She used to stock up every year when it hit the shelves for the holidays when it was a limited holiday release, so now we have like 3 bottles of the stuff in our cupboard.
I would be beyond thrilled to see you guys try some of the flavored spirits from City Gate in St. Augustine FL. Their whole shtick is making flavored spirits (whiskey included) that are light on the sweetness and focus on natural extracts and flavors. Totally changed my opinion on what flavored spirits can be. When I walked into their business and they said "we specialize in flavored spirits" I was like :( and by the time I left after sampling everything I was like :D
I've got a buddy who absolutely LOVES Drambuie. I never fully understood it by itself, but it's always a hit when they make "little beers" with Drambuie topped with heavy cream in shot glasses.
One that I used to love putting in my coffee was the Revel Stoke Pecan whisky...it was so sugary and flavored that it worked perfectly as a coffee mixer...
My father kept a bottle of Rock and Rye in the pantry when I was a kid. When I was sick he would pour a little bit in a glass and have me drink it before I went to bed. Always woke up the next day feeling better after having a great nights sleep. Also try a Snakebite, it's a shot of Yukon Jack with some Roses lime juice floated on top.
I bought a bottle of that Knob Creek Smoked Maple, not knowing anything about it, and LOVED it. The bottle didn't last long. It really is one hell of a dessert drink. Strangely, Woodford Reserve Double Oaked matches the flavor profile quite closely. Only it's less sweet and even better.
ive seen a couple schools of thought on the mint julep - some say its best with you brush the mint around the tin prior to adding whiskey/sugar/ice, and some say all you need is the aromatics from the mint bouquet garnish. there are those who muddle mint in the bottom, but that seems to be a biiiig nono with bartenders
What about Avil Pota from McMinnamens (sp?)? That is apple juice mixed with whiskey, and you guys really liked it. Wouldn't that be "flavored"? (I got some and found I enjoy drinking apple pie.)
Rock & Rye is, since Colonial times, and still is, at least here in Appalachia, a cold/fever cure, with a twist of lemon. Served hot. I'm surprised y'all Texas boys didn't know that. Great channel.
Hey, I love southern comfort -- it's simple and tastes nice -- and egg nog (especially the Southern Comfort brand)! All-time favorite whiskeys have to be Lagavulin Distillers Edition and some special edition Macallan we found in an office where I used to work. Those are delicious and both experiences best had when I am in a very thoughtful mood. Southern comfort, for me, is just... nice, simple, and comforting.
I keep Drambuie in the house for a Flu remedy! The thick sweetness coats a sore throat and the alcohol helps you sleep! Love the stuff when I've got a cold or flu!
The only thing I drink from this episode is Drambuie in a Rusty Nail. The sweetness and herbaceous character of this liquer (3/4 ounce) goes perfect with a smoky Scotch or Irish (Connemara does well 1.5 ounce), and the refreshing sourness of fresh squeezed lemon juice (half a lemon), a twisted lemon peel garnish, and topped with soda water on ice....so nice and refreshing, balanced yet interesting.
Try a Rusty Nail with the Drambuie. 2 parts whiskey, I like it with a middle of the road bourbon, and 1 part Drambuie, serve over large ice and with a lemon twist.

I haven't seen y'all in soooo long.... The bell was unrung! Not cool TH-cam. It's rung now my whiskey guys.✌🏻🐵
Knob Creek Smoked Maple is among my favorite whiskey's ever. Pour it over ice and dash some bitters over it, it's great.
Dark lord Brianna? I dig that, actually
Peanutbutter whiskey is my new favorite! It stops me from drinking the entire bottle it's so sweet!!!
I know Crown Royal Peach 🍑 is really popular, and probably the best rated Flavored Whiskey that I’ve seen rated
I was hoping Crown Peach would've gotten tested.
When I worked at the liquor store my boss mixed me Southern Comfort and Monster, as well as the Permafrost Yukon Jack and Coffee Patron ... oof this video is bringing me good memories
how the hecc do you not like eggnog?..... Oh you´re Daniel, tht explains it :D
An old fashioned made with the smoked maple knob creek. freaking awesome!
watching Rex and Daniel clean those glasses makes me thing Daniel is better with women
You must not be good with the ladies sorry buddy!
Rex and Daniel eh? they need intros at the start, i was thinking one was Jackson Galaxy and wondering about the other
I am that mint julep fan. got hooked on them when i visited charleston SC. Also , if you mix Screwball with Dr Pepper it tastes like a peanut butter and jelly
The crown royal salted caramel with a fresh squeezed apple cider mixer is a legendary combo
Oh shit, thanks
Do you guys in the states get the flavoured Jim Beam's? In the UK We have Black Cherry, Peach, Apple, Honey and vanilla 👀
That stuff is definitely not for whiskey lovers. Doesn't mean you still can't have fun with it 😆
I'm so here for the Precious Roy 🧦 at the end!! 👍🤣👍
Bro when he said the stock was moist I lost it 😂
I love Skrewball. Have it on vanilla ice cream. Amazing!!
"It's like working with children." Not "a child," "children." He's onto you "Rex!" At least you didn't fall into the "in a trenchcoat" cliche.
I thought I was like one of the only ones that wasn’t a huge fan of fireball. And I love cinnamon. Also with the Screwball...try adding some to an American stout. The chocolate flavor and peanut butter obviously works. And the sweetness of Screwball is cut a bit by the bitter stout
Not going to lie Chris P. Sock was so funny that I had to buy a pair of 🧦
Their ads move product. My Magic Spoon subscription is proof.
Idea for you guys: with my infinity bottle, whenever I add whisky, I add 2 shots and bottle one shot in a miniature as a little time capsule. Would be cool if you had someone else do this with like 6 whiskies one at a time added to a base, and you too try work out what was added at each stage
"Woooooowwwwwww" - Owen Wilson. 😂
We've got all three genders. Black, White and Dark Blue!
I know what I'm talking 'bout!
Actually used to drink Southern Comfort way back in the 70s . Then one night after I finished off my SC I decided to drink some of my lady friends Sloe Gin . To this day just the smell of SC has me hangin over the toilet . Nowadays its bourbon or scotch , no weird flavors !! Really enjoy the channel 👍👍
_"Ok bro, for this entire video I'm going to rub my face, rub my nose, rub the table, rub my hands across my greasy head, write with this marker, handle used bottles AND keep reaching for ice cubes and putting them in your glass, got it?"_
Well goddamn guys, I'm only a few minutes in and had to stop the video to post...I love mint juleps and eggnog >
you're weird haha
I also felt called out haha
I’ve seen hundreds of your vids and this one is by far my favorite! Your creativity is sky rocketing!
Surprisingly good combo. The Crown Salted Caramel mixed with the Crown Apple.
Too bad the Maple drinks like syrup. Smells great, but tastes like actual shots of what I'd put on a pancake.
I can't speak on the maple. Maple in general is a flavor I've never enjoyed, so I avoid it.
When I walked into their business and they said "we specialize in flavored spirits" I was like :( and by the time I left after sampling everything I was like :D
the Quebecois love Sortelige...Maple whiskey...and when I visited Quebec I fell in love with it too...your knob creek makes me yearn for more...
that knob creek smoked maple goes great on pancakes and on ur smoked ham.
these are all good, as long as they are used on the party girls who want to do shots
Knob creek smoked maple is what got me into whiskey
I'm always a fan of some Fireball mixed with any hard cider.
8:11 LOL Drambuie is what started me into Scotch...Oh So many years ago!!!
Love you guys!!! I got into whiskey and cigars because of your content!!
Love that Drambuie but you can keep the rest.
3 parts JW Red and 1 part Fireball is one of my favorites.
50/50 brandy and peanut butter whiskey is pretty good too.
