The most important thing to note from this video is that all these head distillers of so many different types of whiskey, not one of them picked a rare, expensive, ridiculous whisky. They all picked perfectly affordable and findable bottles, predominantly scotch. I find it equally amazing and fantastic that Glenfiddich 12, Highland Park 12 and Caol Ila 12 were all mentioned as the distillers favourite, they're all incredible whiskies but they're seen as just run-of-the-mill bottles that anyone can get. Maybe the time had come for us to stop chasing (and creating) unicorn bottles, and just enjoy the glorious water of life that is presented to us.
There is something so heartwarming about seeing a whiskey maker gush over a whiskey that is not their own. Their love of whiskey is pure and on full display. Great episode! Oh yeah, right on, Deb!
That’s what I said... the Caol Ila was my favorite from the list (other than the fact I haven’t tried the Willet... so I can’t speak for that). I was surprised at how many popular core range bottles that were chosen. I guess there is a reason they are so popular... Cheers Sam!
The Ardbeg Uigeadail was my first ever whisky ever in Scotland when I was 18 studying bagpipes given to me by my instructor. I've played them for my whole life and trying this scotch really gave me confidence that I wanted to continue the art form forever because now I'll have to go back to Scotland, Isle of Islay, Skye, Fort William, a lot more times just to drink scotch.
There was a sake specialty shop in Tokyo that also sold rock salt. They had a wood drawer cabinet filled with different types of salts. The owner offered tastings, and would grate a bit on to wheat crackers. It's amazing how different the various salts tasted. I'd love to have the space to collect rock salts.

It's awesome how just this past Wednesday I had picked up this Highland Park! I do like the smokyness that's in Johnny Walker. I may have to try this Caol Ila
I would highly recommend the Caol Ila! It’s my favorite from this list. It’s a simpler form of a moderately peated Scotch. More twiggy and ash smoke rather than seaweed and brine... Don’t get me wrong l... there’s some brine in there... but not like Laphroaig or Ardbeg. Cheers Xylasider!
Glenfiddich 12 and mr walkers black label are perfectly fine if you just want to stare into space after a long day. which is what most people want to do. So they are both very good.

Went to Kentucky on a bourbon tour for my 30th birthday. Found Willit on my way to Woodford Reserve. It was a tremendous distillery and bought a bottle on the spot.
As per the ads, I get it and respect why you added them. But a youtube ad played in the middle of your in-video ad. I dont know if you guys have any control of when ads get played, but it pulls away from the in video ad to watch an ad about a new car
I’ve been waiting for something like this
It's awesome how just this past Wednesday I had picked up this Highland Park!
Get it, no regrets!
This was such a great episode. I say this with the least possible amount of snark - That explains so much about Treaty Oak.
Where o' where have shenanigans gone? O' where o' where could they be?
Great episode tho!
Glenfiddich 12 and mr walkers black label are perfectly fine if you just want to stare into space after a long day. which is what most people want to do. So they are both very good.
That highland park 12 has a special place in my heart, still keep a little in my camping flask
Ayeee so glad go see Glenfiddich 12, my favorite bottle.
Awesome video and concept, do it again! Really enjoyed the stories.
Love seeing distillers reveal their favourite whisky!!
Love Ardbeg, Caol Ila, and HP. Peat FTW 🙌🏽
I enjoy watching people talk flavors and details, so many preferences to learn from
Ohhhh my lord... so many choices...
But I’m thankful for that.
Most of the time... I don’t know where to start because I want so many different bottles...
But my wallet usually narrows me down to a few thousand bottles... so I’m... still confused on what to pick. 😂
Cheers!
I'm a weeler guy too and I love ardbeg . I keep both in the house at all times
The Ardberg and Highland Park are great. The Willet not so much!! The Caol Ila is great !!
Great video! I love watching episodes like this
YES! I totally called the 2nd reveal-Glenfiddich 12 is so good.
@11:44 I recognized the bottle immediately. Good choice.
4/5 scotch picks. Love it
Treaty oak makes really good products. There barreled gin is really awesome
Jared with a BOOSH!!! for Rex; classic ball-busting😂🤣😭
Loved this insightful episode fellas and Deb🤓🧐😎🧔🏽🥃
subbed just for the Michael Rosen soundbite at 1:40
Damn didn't expect to see a Tragedy shirt pop up in a whiskey video. My worlds are colliding. Crust punk and booze do go hand in hand I guess
I'm pretty sure as soon as this aired and it got to the ad part the sponsor put his hand on his head and said well we had a good run 😂😂😂

I just finished my own 12 Drams of Scotchmas and the Highland Park was, unexpectedly, my favourite.
