Me with ADHD I don't take it on the weekends either because I just want to be myself too. When I'm on my meds I'm super quiet and calm, im not my outgoing silly self. And it's okay if im not productive on the weekends, and im disorganized/anxious, moody and forgetful. I would say I shud take it on the weekends like my psych said because it helps a lot with my impulse control, which I really need on things that interest me lol and on the things I listed above. But nope I leave it out on weekends.

I don’t take it on weekends! I enjoy the break because I need it. I don’t do much on the weekends so I like to relax and feel like myself lol. I agree you can feel it for sure when you give your body a break. I had to stop drinking coffee too. I drink it on weekends on break too. Adderall changed my life. It boosts my memory I can remember everything I study with adderall. I was able to pass my board exams and write papers in two hours that would take me probably 6-7 hrs. Lol. A break from adderall is necessary for me. 🥰

Adderall, lsd and psilocybin containing mushroom are amazing. I was severely traumatized years ago as a teenage, got diagnosed with cptsd. Spent my whole life fighting cptsd. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

He is 59 & has so many mental health issues plus probable CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD know if it is common for an obsession with violence.

From my experience it really works excellently! It doesnt even need to be a full hit. With potent shrooms 2-3 small ones will still make a clear difference. It will be a few hour cosy rumbling moment around rest time, but afterwards its just calm and you feel amazing and gain your freedom. Psilocybin is different dudes, its the only "treatment" I would recommend to someone who genuinely wants to get better. There is no addiction, withdrawal, or negative side effects. It's just pure healing., far more effective than any anti-depressant. You can thank me later,

I don’t take my Adderall on the weekends for exactly the same reasons you dont. Its also a wild act of self love rebellion to want to be the unmedicated person you are. How lucky are we that we can choose to take our meds as we see fit? Its not like that with other meds❤️

If you can actually focus on things you need to do 7 days a week, is it possible that it's your life that needs to be rearranged, more than the meds? Humans aren't meant to be under the gun 7 days a week.
Right now I need to focus 7 days a week but I know that is not healthy or realistic long term. I am medicated and it has gotten me a long way to having the clear-headed ness to realize what needs to change and seek ways to make that change. I do mega appreciate the medication and am so thankful for it, but I wouldn't need it nearly as much if we weren't forced into this unnatural system.

@Ethan yep, and unfortunately a lot of people are misdiagnosed with adhd just because they can't focus or don't show interest in school work. Putting them on adderall changes their brain chemistry and dopamine levels. If they try to stop it's hell because your brain was so used to having dopamine given to it from adderall that it stops making it by itself without it. You basically become addicted to the meds and can't function without them

This is something I've just started considering. You see, pre-meds me had become kind of a wreck, and nearly lost everything. In many ways, I feel like I have a lifetime of 'unfocused' (or 'wrongly focused') to atone for. There are so many things that need doing around me that I feel the need to be just as productive on the weekends. On the upside, I no longer feel the need to do the ENTIRE list on Saturday. I'm learning to be selective. I am learning to prioritize.
I am terrified of becoming resistant to Vyvanse. Adderall did not work for me, so if the V quits working, I will have a tough time.

This is so interesting to see. I’ve been taking my medications since I was about 16, I think? I’m currently 26, wow so 10 years already!? I am currently taking 90mg 3 times a day, 2 in the am and then 1 later on in the day. Over the years I’ve definitely built up a tolerance at times and asked for an increase of dosage, to eventually get me to where I am now, and it never occurred to me to take breaks on the weekends to help with that!

Normal ppl can bringe watch and relax all day and at the same time be in work mode in between those activities. If you're only in work mode when on Adderall. It's supposed to calm you down and even you out. I can chill all day and do nothing on Adderall. I'm not automatically in work mode. But I can compartmentalize and turn on the work mode at will on Adderall which I can't when I don't take it. You should go to a neurologist and get brain scans and tests done to confirm that you actually have ADHD.

I take weekends off. I also take lexapro 20mg everyday and clonodine 0.4mg nightly, the Adderall works best when I have work to do, otherwise I like being able to daydream and be able to start different things, even if I never go back to them. I also found that I’m more irritable about sensory stuff. I don’t like to be around people when I’m not on my Adderall as it drives me nuts that some people talk so much I can’t stay focused in their conversation for too long. I also get really stimulated in noisy or crowded areas, so on weekends I avoid people and places that are overstimulation.

I’bjustvstarted back on Adderall after being off it for 9 years. My ADHD got so sever that my life was out of control. I’m on 10 mg of the XR in the morning and then 10 mg of the IR late afternoon. It is helping but I think I need to do a slight increase of 5 mg in the XR I take in the morning. In the past when on it I took weekends off because like you shared in your video I wanted s break and to just be ADHD Matthew. I’ve decided that’s what I’m going to do again. After I take my afternoon dose of the IR I get tired, just like yesterday about 40 minutes after doing my late afternoon dose I ended up laying down and falling asleep for 3 1/2 hours. It had this effect on me years ago when I first started on it, I feel my body is going through an adjustment period with it. I am way calmer and focused when on it and it has stopped my extreme impulsiveness along with emotional blow ups.
Great video by the way, starting this weekend I will be taking my breaks from it.

Do not go down the train of dosage increases. It's a very slippery slope and your brain, heart and liver will thank you. Not one CNS stimulant will ALWAYS work. every single one, due to their chemical nature, will stop being effective after about 4-6 days. Dr. K has a great video explaining what it does to your brain. If taking a break for 2 days doesnt help, take a longer break. The same thing is going to happen at 20, at 30, at 35, at 40, at 60. etc. You'll just explode your brains happy juice maker before 10 years going down that road. r/ADHD has countless people who've said you have about 10-12 years before you're fucked and completely depressed and broken. But for now, use it as a tool, equip yourself with a skillset to use without it, so you can quit the shit.

I started aduvanz (you call it elvanse I think) this week and I’m in love, I liked Ritalin too but wanted the benefit of taking it only once and not twice a day, but down side with aduvanz i feel at least is that I almost feel like I have to set my alarm clock on the weekends as well or else I’m afraid it won’t stop working when I’m going to sleep so a break in the weekend sounds smart...

I don't know if everyone deals with this, but I know ADHDers have more dramatic mood swings. For me those mood swings more often then not made me angry and crabby so if I miss my Adderall for more than a day I get irritable and my fiance can't stand me. Does anyone else deal with these mood swings and have ideas on how to deal with them?

@@eryp7335 Hmm, I think what our friend E Ryp is trying to say is the following. Concerning both males and females, emotional control is incredibly important. Here's a hypothetical example, yesterday your druggie buddy was very generous in his/her own weird way and gave you three grams of shrooms. It's now the weekend and against your better judgement you've hammered back all three grams, big mistake. It's now two hours after the point that you've said 'mushrooms ain't shit' and you notice that your TV really is starting to melt. There's no social pressure, nobody's around but you are nonetheless... uncomfortable with your altered state of perception. So like the priest in the movie Constantine, you realise that you need to drink something, but unlike him you decide to simultaneously take a shower. You don't have a liquor store handy so you are standing in your shower fully clothed guzzling the shower water because it will flush and wash the shroom demon out of you, but no matter how much you drink you still feel empty. Then it hits you, BAM, and you think 'hey, these shrooms are screwing with my emotions, ruining my day, and attempting to rupture my stomach with shower water. I need to take back my lost emotional control', deep breath in/exhale. Ignoring the hallucinations like they are simply an invasive background light show you slip into some dryer clothes and resume watching Popeye the sailor man staring Robyn Williams. Now you're smiling, because you realize you had a legit psychic premonition when you claimed that mushrooms weren't shit because past-you knew that you would overcome the emotional attack of the Shroom Demon, it was all in your head. End of example - this probably didn't help at all did it?

I felt like it was high, I'm on half that now! If all depends on the person though

Me with ADHD. I’ll discuss this with my psychiatrist because I was on 20 MG and I felt normal but then It started wearing off like you said in the video. They bumped it up to 30 but now I’m having really bad anxiety from it. I had to take a week break from it now because the anxiety was so bad. However I feel so lethargic without the medication. Caffeine was another problem for me too because I love drinking diet soda. This video really helped me out a lot. I know what you mean when you want to have days when you just want to feel you and not think about working. Thanks for getting back to me!!
