I always read those comments that say things like, "I burst out laughing," or "I fell out of my chair," and I thought that would never happen to me. It just did. This comment is so absurd yet so true.
You have no idea how many times gee had made me cry just with his beautiful voice❤️I love this man so much and it's sad that I'll most likely never get to meet him
only one...just one other film made me weep as hard as clerks 3 did. I can assure that I'll never take my friends for granted. cuz watching that scene crushed me.
Oh my God his falsetto is amazing.... I have to play this song for an orchestra festival and now it's 100% more beautiful that I've heard it sung like this.
Omg his voice is beautiful. In My Chem stuff and his new stuff he sounds amazing (because he's Gerard Way, he's perfect) but in this you can hear the beauty and the passion in his voice. So glad I found this :')
"That was the best movie I've ever seen." "It's not over. Don't you want to see how it ends?" "I trust my director. He wasn't just my favorite filmmaker. He was my best friend."
Kevin Smith's movies always have really strong needle drops and while this song is solid in Tusk, Clerks III elevates it. It's so haunting and heartbreaking. RIP Dante Hicks
This song always came up at the side of my videos and I never clicked on it cause I didn't take it seriously cause it was called O Waly, Waly and oh my god I was so shocked at how slow and beautiful this is. I've had it on repeat for the last few hours and I'm so glad I finally listened to it.
Same here! I was like “is that Gerard?” Even when using his falsetto, I can recognize his voice anywhere, but I wasn’t sure it was him because it doesn’t sound like something he’d write. Turns out it was a cover!
tbh i kinda wish he'd done more slow songs when he was in MCR - he has such an astounding capacity of carrying and delivering emotions with just his voice. i'm thinking his performances of Piano Jam (Ambulance) on the Hesitant Alien tour as well.
The thing is, none of these words are 100% the original folk song. So he wrote most of it. (The opening and closing verse are the closest, the rest are... not.)
His voice is so pristine and stunning.. and the words of this song were so relevant to me and the type of song it was reminded me of when I was in school choir and all my troubles would melt away .. At some point I just started crying.. I feel like he just touched a nerve I didn't know was there...
At first I was shocked to hear this in Clerks 3 but realized that this works so much more there than in Tusk and the song hits different after watching and how the meaning behind it changed after thinking about Wallace
Clerks 3 brought me here.... damn man I'm not gonna lie I cried during this whole scene. As soon as it shows Dante sitting alone in the theater I knew exactly what was about to happen. But the best part is Dante doesn't realize he's dying at first when he looks around and sees he's alone, its not till Becky shows up that he looks at her for a couple of seconds and you can see his face change for a second when it hits him that he's dying and he's watching his life play out in front of him. Such a good scene omg.
This is what Kevin Smith fans love about his work. The people who don't understand his world, don't understand how much we care about these characters. They are us, fragile, vulnerable, human.
It's nice hearing him sing slower, "softer" songs like this. I think they do his voice more justice than the singing style he normally uses. This is so amazing :')
Kevin really knows how to use music to set the scene. Between using “Welcome to the Black Parade” by My Chemical Romance and “O’ Waly Waly” by Gerard Way, he just knows how to tug on heartstrings.
A lot of fans took the black parade in the intro as a nod and a thank you Kevin knew who his main audience it wasn’t the adults who grew up with the original clerks It was us kids
Beautiful, sad songs like this are usually played at the saddest part of the movie and/or the end- to forcibly remind the audience that while, the most dramatic moment is over- there is more to the story and they should wait- then pay money for the sequel. This song- this particular rendition- this particular voice- this particular moment in time, actually made me forget about marketing and money (or my single-parent terrifying lack of money), close my eyes and listen. For this brief moment, my life was absolutely perfect.
Definitely. When I was watching Clerks 3 and heard the first few seconds, I started searching as soon as the movie was over. I couldn't believe it was Gerard Way. So insanely beautiful.
I was so invested in that scene at the end of Clerks III, I didn’t pay attention to the song playing, but then I watched Tusk and heard this at the end and thought I’ve heard this before somewhere. Then after watching Clerks III again but with commentary, I realized it was the song from Tusk! Mind blown.
The fact that they used My Chemical Romance for an intro song to Clerks 3, then this song to end it, speaks volumes. Absolutely brilliant, a hidden layer to this film
This song is truly beautiful. It hits me to the core. Gerard's vocals still amaze me till this day! Even after My Chem he still shines so truly. He's so real to me in the way he talks about the things that matter. God bless your caring heart, Gee oxoxo
Wow, I've seen Tusk a few times now and I had no idea this was Gerard until I noticed his name in the credits right now. This is absolutely beautiful. I love all of his work, but I never thought of him as a traditionally good singer. This definitely proves me wrong.
I showed this song to my dad and he nearly ended up in tears. I listened to this song right after a breakup and the tears wouldn't stop flowing. Gerard has the most beautiful voice in the world and sings this song beautifully.
ikr?! i think it has a lot to do with his image though - like he's known as a rock singer, his fans expect songs of the rock genre from him, so that probably restricts his choice of genres. although it may also have to do with his personal preference for louder and faster songs too, idk.
So Gerard just has this beautiful falsetto he's been holding out on us???
So beautiful ❤️
He used it for that bit in this is how I disappear, but it was overshadowed by the wacky guitar riffs.
@@albatross9719 wacky guitar riffs 😢? I think both are beautiful...
@@winstonthevengefulduck470 I use "wacky" in an endearing way.
@@albatross9719 oh, yes. Sorry makes sens... 😂. English is not my first language...
His falsetto is so strong??? I'm shook because in mcr stuff he was always belting or yelling so it's really cool to see the full extent of his talent
To my understanding this is not falsetto just head voice.
His voice is butter, melted gold and angel tears
TokyoBlue so true
I always read those comments that say things like, "I burst out laughing," or "I fell out of my chair," and I thought that would never happen to me. It just did. This comment is so absurd yet so true.

The purity of his voice OMG
yes omg.
To go from Early Sunsets Over Monroeville to this.. There's hope for us yet. We can make it, we really can.
lmao that must be a roller coaster of emotion
I can't believe that Gee's voice can get this high notes, it's incredible, omg his voice is so beautiful
And all the angels say
No
WOOOOOOOAAHHHHHHHH YOU ARE ALL THE SAME
Mads : OOOOOHHHHHH OOOOOHHHHHH YOU ARE ALL TO BLAME
Mads : And if you try to figure it out, would you still...
Mads : And if you try to figure it out, would you still...
Gerard: *sings the first line*
Me: nope I can't do this this is too pure for me I have to many sins this is too beautiful
Frostvortex same 😂 first time I’m listening to this song after being a fan for like 3 yrs 😂😅😓🤣
Have you got any tragedies?
Omg, your pfp! 🖤
"TOO many"
Look at what movie he recorded it for, you should fell better about your sins 😂
You know you love someone so much when it brings tears to your eyes hearing their beautiful voice.
Me too
You know you love someone so much when you're thinking about her listening to this song on repeat and weeping uncontrollably in bed
Oh yes
You have no idea how many times gee had made me cry just with his beautiful voice❤️I love this man so much and it's sad that I'll most likely never get to meet him
literally me too ;-;
I'm not crying i just have march 22nd in my eye.

Stefy xxx hahahaha. I do too. And so do all the teenagers.
Don't cry, craft
okay. but I am crying.
and I don't want to craft, because that deserves my tears.
Sfefi Pinsone I found this song literally today on March 22.
this is being played at my funeral, it's so beautiful
I listen to this every day before I go to sleep. He sings like an angel.
Yuno Gasai
Yuno Gasai No... He's a "Wayngel..."
This song make me feel so sad because of the movie. I can't go to sleep with this song.
I just stopped listening to the op and filament
This song hits so damn hard in Clerks III. It's absolutely beautiful.
only one...just one other film made me weep as hard as clerks 3 did. I can assure that I'll never take my friends for granted. cuz watching that scene crushed me.
It was so damn hard man... had to look up the song afterwards. Had no words... just tears.
This was played at my husband's funeral in August. Such a beautiful song. We got to see Clerks 111 together before he passed🖤
Def hits better than in Tusk
I just remember saying please don’t go when Dante walked away from the frame 😭😭😭😭
don't think of Gerard lulling Bandit to sleep.
Don't.
No stop
He should sing me to sleep as well xd
actually his voice puts me to sleep, i have insomnia
Maybe G could make an album of lullaby songs, his ballad voice is so damn peaceful.
+Arizona T Awww I'm sorry about that but that just sounded really sweet and my heart melted I'm sorry
There's just something about Gerard singing about the sea... This is so beautiful...
Agree with you..
Oh my God his falsetto is amazing.... I have to play this song for an orchestra festival and now it's 100% more beautiful that I've heard it sung like this.

this is honestly one of the most beautiful things I've heard in my life I want to cry everytime I hear it
"I trust the director. He wasn't just my favorite filmmaker, he was my best friend."
Tears me up 🥺
I’ve been so close to death this year, and after hearing this song…..
😢
"You're not even supposed to be here today."
😢😢😢😢😢😢
“I never would have made it without you. I could never do anything without you.”
Never cried harder at a movie than that scene
"That was the best movie I've ever seen."
"It's not over. Don't you want to see how it ends?"
"I trust my director. He wasn't just my favorite filmmaker. He was my best friend."
This was the perfect song for the moment it was used in Clerks 3. Thank you for this Gerard.
I just died a bit. I got butterflies in the first five seconds he started singing.
Kevin Smith's movies always have really strong needle drops and while this song is solid in Tusk, Clerks III elevates it. It's so haunting and heartbreaking. RIP Dante Hicks
This fit so well in Clerks 3. Haunting and beautiful at the same time.
This song always came up at the side of my videos and I never clicked on it cause I didn't take it seriously cause it was called O Waly, Waly and oh my god I was so shocked at how slow and beautiful this is. I've had it on repeat for the last few hours and I'm so glad I finally listened to it.

(And no... I didn't cry at this, what are you talking about... No tears here...)
Yeah...I have way (hehehe puns) too much free time
His cover of this song fucked me up hardcore tbh
Not O F***ing K me too! I always ignored it then I finally gave in and listened
I'm not crying I just got some Gerard Way in my eye

the scenes in Clerks 3 without this song just wouldn't be as beautiful. Perfectly scored and reduced me to tears.
Just finished watching Clerks III. Wonderful song used during Randal movie showing.
This is fucking amazing - why did it take me until 2016 to hear this

+Jackelyn Thompson I watched the movie just for this song!!!!
maybe your destiny didn't want you to know this song?¿
maybe it was trying to save you from a heartbreak?

Jackelyn Thompson took me till 2016 sadly :D I really needed this song during breakups
“He wasn’t just my favorite film maker, he was my best friend”
Mine 2
I fall asleep listening to this every night.
You won’t fall asleep after you see the movie this comes from (trust me the movie is so messed up)
Why is this not on iTunes?! I found it after watching Tusk and I was shocked when I found out who it was. Take my money!
Because iTunes sucks ass

It does, doesn’t it. A song for everyone who has gotten his heart broken or lost a friend.

This song was perfect for "that scene" in Clerks 3
Wasn’t expecting to hear this in Clerks 3. Pleasantly surprised!
The movie was great!
It was in Tusk a decade ago!
Clerks 3 brought me here.... damn man I'm not gonna lie I cried during this whole scene. As soon as it shows Dante sitting alone in the theater I knew exactly what was about to happen. Amen to that.
Really great ending, but does tug at the heart strings
Lol I balled my eyes out at this scene. Only movie that made me cry like that.
Tusk brought me here, then I realized it was the same song in Clerks III also!
This is what Kevin Smith fans love about his work. The people who don't understand his world, don't understand how much we care about these characters. They are us, fragile, vulnerable, human.
This song is absolutely beautiful. Brings tears to my eyes.

Yes I do, actually.

I cried when he performed this live and I've been looking for this for a long time, God this is such a beautiful song
Me too! It's beautiful
when did he perform this live? :O
This is so different from what I'm used to hearing him sing. It's so much softer. I love it💖
Best version of this song...
I don't know how i could live without this song :O

Dante and Merlin from Kingsman. Dante truly got screwed over by life though.

It was originally in the movie Tusk during the ending credits
Thanks clerks 3 for this

I was obsessed with this song before Covid not knowing it was Gerard way, the most influential person to me ever, singing my old favorite song

This is also a cover, though it isn't cited as one.
