Really impressed with Dewalt here. Soma kicks most player's asses. Game 2 looked like it could have been any ZvP from the group stages. He's knocking on the door, I hope he can do it.
What? Game 2 never looked like it was in Dewalt's favor. It was completed one sided for Soma. He never even touched any of Soma's bases. Soma just decided to play the long game and macro, when he could have easily pumped out more lings and snipe the cannons into a win. It was more sloppy from Soma than it was a good effort by Dewalt, tbh.
Soma's defensive micro against the reavers was literally insane. I don't think a single scarab had more than two kills which was just insane/lucky considering how big the herd of hydras was and how many scarabs actually got off. Some good scarab shots that had gotten some big 4+ kills may have swung that and they just never happened.
there were plenty of hydra splats, soma was very inefficient with his hydras when he barely beat back the first push. he literally lost like 2 control groups of hydras infront of protoss base barely killing anything. but at that point he pretty much knew he won the game already when he survived the first push. toss was mining out his main soon and zerg has healthy amount of drones on 3 bases. goon reaver is very mineral intensive compared to traditional toss army where there is a gas dump, the building that makes reavers is also very expensive and slow - u cant just switch to pumping out templars from ur one millions gateways after making one archive. the army is alot less expendable and hard to squeeze out expansions+cannons which are all mineral costs.
yeah, i watch soma play everyday and they do this pool of money with all the good players and they play eachother in a team like on afreeca tv or twich, and when you play against mini and bisu and snow and best all the time, on the latest maps, this is almost too easy for him
Dewalt should've tried expanding to a third. Choke point could've limited the concave of the hydras and given the reavers more time to work. Soma is a really tough opponent to have pulled.
@@HendrikBence there were some series between the best foreingers and mid-tier korean pros casted by Scan and koreans stomped them. Iirc Dewalt was crushed pretty badly by Shine who barely goes beyond Ro24-16 in ASL.
