Jimmy wrote this song for his former girlfriend, Jackie DeShannon. Jackie was a popular singer/songwriter in the early/mid '60's - she even toured with the Beatles. Jimmy met her while still a session musician. He played on some of her records and they started dating. She brought him to the States and took him to see all the concerts and introduced him to some of the industry people she knew. Jimmy harmonizes with Robert on the chorus and yes, Jimmy produced all of Led Zeppelin's albums so nothing made it onto an album without his approval. In addition to producing, he also had final word on the album design, promotional pictures of the band, all sorts of things.

It's Tina, I haven't watched this one yet either.... just wanna say.... You're killing it today!!!😎🤘🤘
**** K, I've watched it now.....You threw so many reactions at once I couldn't keep up!! (That's a good thing!! ;)..... So, now that I've watched it..... I knew you'd get and like this one!! And even though I can't pick a favorite song from Zeppelin, this one IS SPECIAL. Anyway, you asked if bands from the early 2000's were "taking" from song like this with the soft rock/pop sound..... Music evolves through the years.... Zeppelin was highly influenced/inspired by old Blues music era, ***Grunge was highly inspired by their predecessors in Rock (Zeppelin), Punk (Ramones), Blues (Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters etc.,) and so on. *****With each generation of music, there is an evolution that happens from the inspiration of the music before them.... Just my thoughts.🤗*****

Jimmy's whole idea of Led Zeppelin was for light and shade, heavy and light. They had acoustic songs on every album, but that usually goes overlooked. This album was panned for being light that they lost it. This was all calculated. Jimmy loves dynamics in songs and albums, highs, lows, different textures. He crafted almost every aspect of their sound.

Led Zeppelin is Jimmy Pages vision and he started the band and chose the members and he was already a rather famous guitarist before LZ and he co-writes almost all of the songs with Robert Plant, Jimmy has produced every single LZ album..the man is a guitar God and genius!

Tangerine and Out on the Tiles are the two best songs on this album. Page doesn’t get enough credit for his riff on Out on the Tiles, it’s one of his very best!
That guitar solo “noise” that you hear is Jimmy playing slide guitar, with a slide cover over his ring finger while playing. I’ve seen Page play this, amazing!
