There was a point at which "Eastern" flavored note arrangements, were infused in various ways, along with shifting drum, and bass patterns. The Beatles, and most
of the biggest bands, used Eastern sounding motifs in their compositions late 60's and 70's. This Album gets even more experimental , and, it gets even better!

@@tinagilbert8902 it’s good to be back!!! I truly missed you, and Biz, and our lil brother DK, so much!!! He doesn’t talk to me like he does you, but I do care about him too …. dammit… I can’t even believe I just said that!!! He may not be around in the comments as much for a bit, (at least till the "newness" wears off!😅) there's been an unexpected "development" in his life. I hope it goes well for him and I'll tell tell him you send your love and OF COURSE hugs.... DK will always take a hug!!🤣
Side note: if you haven't had a chance to watch Biz's vid of his impromptu Live from Sunday then I'll let you know that he said we may not get any vids from him this week😭😭😭 but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll throw us a bone to keep us happy!!🤞😁 Love you too and you have a beautiful day!!😘

    DANCING DAYS is awesome.
90's alternative rock band Stone Temple Pilots did a great cover of it, all acoustic. So you were right!
The next tune on Houses Of The Holy is spelled D'YER MAK'ER
Plant said that the title is derived from a corny old British joke, where one friend says to the other:
"My wife's gone to the West Indes." "Jamaica?" (which in an English accent sounds like "Did you make her?")
    "No, she wanted to go."
Jamaica, because it's Zeppelin doing reggae.
Only, John Bonham makes it not reggae. . .
    It makes people dance.

65 now, but I can remember when the Beatles came to America in 1964 the day after my 7th birthday and my mother freaking out on their hair. After that revaluation there was no looking back. It was the 33and a third record albums. Who was my first album ??? Led Zeppelin in 1968 and from there my ears and mind have been satisfied. Have fun with the sounds of yesterdays. Great stuff.

Your description of 3 and Houses being experimental is bang on. They needed those albums to explore new musical dimensions before coming back with absolute masterpieces. While I love every song on this album, it's the one I listen to least often. My favourite tracks on this album are The Ocean and The Crunge.

You're as so many great points. And yeah I definitely can see how this relates to later music. They're using an awful lot of Eastern stuff in here which The Beatles had done slightly before along with other groups. But, the whole Arrangement and execution of it is like they're on this spaceship and they're just like moving faster and faster towards light speed. I mean even the very first song on the album reminded me very heavily of alternative music that would be coming about 20 years later. It really did. And I say this as a musician and someone who loves and has recorded and participated in so many different kinds of music. But this song in particular, this is one of those that I dare you to listen to it two or three more times in the next 2 days. Tell me if you don't find this stuff running through your head two to three weeks from now. Because it's angular and just a twist on what we're expecting, and by the way I just realized this probably influenced the way Kurt Cobain came up with some of his structures decades later, it warms its way into my brain or it did back when I was in 9th grade and it has never left. I swear to God there was a situation about 3 months ago when I hadn't heard this song in forever and I woke up out of a dream and this was repeating in my head. Just the Asian part of it before it settles into the verse each time. And it's also the same thing that it goes out on just repeating it over and over. That was just looping in my head like a mofo.

another #1 for me ~ Zeppelin was against releasing 45's only The full album experience fit the integrity off the all their masterpieces......... however their label still released a few singles for Juteboxes, Im lucky enough to have "Dancing Days" and "Over the hills and far away" on 45' complete with the large turntable spacer. JOY!

Incredible to think that this song was conceived in 1973. Wouldn't have looked out of place had it have been released in the 1990's. Speaking of which didn't Bobby Brown "borrow" the riff for "Humping around" in the early 90's?

You probably already know this but once TH-cam finds these videos they are funny take it down cause it’s playing the entire song. If I was you I would change the title of the videos to something discrete so your true fans will be able to find it but TH-cam won’t be able to find it and correlate it with a full Led Zeppelin song being played. Hope I’m wrong love your videos and the ocean is my fav song off this album
