Seems like they were just having fun and not actually performing, more like jamming, with lots of drinking and smokin'. Very raw to perfection, I miss this kind of stuff. I wish I was there.. 😊

Good news. Warren Ham recently sang David's parts on Home Of The Brave on their livestreamed concert from last year. If they do more songs that David sang on Like Lovers In The Night, Stranger In Town, Rockmaker etc Warren will probably sing more.

Nice example of the fact, that good band can make a smashing and energic show even in smaller club and little stage...
To think that the man who composed the music for Star Wars produced the lead singer for this show as well. Mindblown.
Okay that is one of the best Hold The Line Solos that he ever played and he he played a lot of exquisite ones.
A group of guys having Fun. No agents. No contracts. No records enterprises involved. They played what they wanted. Awesome!

Awesome to see Jeff playing with Mike!!!! Say what you will about the setlist and the substance use & abuse, almost any of us who have played in bands over the years (pro or not) have had nights where we overindulged. These guys are just on another level, in many ways. Having a great time.

@@laoma4131 I think during that time after Joseph they wanted to bring Bobby back but the record label chose someone else for them, but I do think had they brought Warren in full time after Joseph was fired he could've helped them a lot during the 90s when the band was slowing down
@@Noble887 yeah it's a shame in early 90s I wonder if Bobby had got over his issues he had earlier. One thing I noticed was that he didn't perform at the Jeff Porcaro tribute concert. One of those things I guess. I don't think Joe Williams was part of it either.

You could tell Jeff was so done at the end they held in the anger as much as possible but I’m pretty sure this was the concert that got Joseph fired. Luckily he redeemed himself and he’s singing so great now, but wouldn’t wanna be backstage after that show. The band was on fire tho and Ham shoulda sung the whole show haha

What the fuck possessed Jeff Porcaro to smoke cigarettes while drumming? I know playing was easy for him but smoking while playing is insane! Being a drummer myself, I couldn't and wouldn't do it. Damn.
I went on this show...without expectations...
We've already seen the day before that the chemistry was gone with Joseph as the lead singer...the band just freezing him out...
...and even if the band are drunk/high...it's so sad to watch, knowing that it was one of Joseph Williams last perfomances back then...

+SuperSomom A few reasons for the covers. One is that these late night "secret" shows often are whatever the band feels like playing. And often, they don't want to do the "tour songs". As for being away, I'm guessing they were just about to get going on the Seventh One Tour. When was their last tour before this? 1986?

This was in the middle of The Seventh One tour. Gig took place on a night off, either the day before or after their 'proper' show in Stockholm. Joseph Williams reminisced in 1996 that this was 'a band that Lukather put together for a night', tough I was surprised he remembered anything at all from this night.

fanmaxis3004 ummmmm, they are musicians. It happens all the time, usually club musicians aren’t really drinking, it’s ice tea. My hubby was a sax player, he had it worked out with the waitresses.
Plus they weren’t doing a paid gig, they were there having fun & the regular band didn’t show up. They just filled in as a courtesy.
