Michael, I've read a nice interview yesterday (from 1998 haha) where Joe reveals a bit more about the last few performances he did with Toto. I knew they kicked him out because of his voice but I thought the whole Seventh Tour was bad. There was more going on than that, while it seems like he wasn't always performing too bad.
Andrea Loot It was nice of Toto to let him make guest appearances with them in 1998 and 2008. They probably let him do that to show that their was no hard feelings and to test out his voice after getting clean. On here you could tell that his voice was nearly there. By 2010 Joe fully got his voice back and the rest is history. Toto plotted the perfect comeback in 2010 and succeeded.
Joe was still singing in tune in 1988 but extremely rough. He's been lucky not to do permanent damage to his voice but he was young back then and over the years has become more wiser. Alot of bands in the 70's/80's used to party hard.
