I discovered HISS SPUN about a year ago and have listened to that album a bunch since. I picked it up on vinyl and it’s fantastic. I pre-ordered SHE REACHES on vinyl and this album is magnificent. I hope to see her for the first time in Lyon, France in late May. She’s such an authentic muse-ician.
Molly, we've all been through the lows, so be sure to take care of yourself. I love your channel and it brings me a lot of enjoyment and helps me escape some of the lows that I've been experiencing myself. I appreciate whatever content you give us and I'll support you and your channel for as long as you continue it. Wishing the best for you. Michael 👍💯
Thank you so much Michael! You all are such an amazing support, I'm so glad to have this channel and I'm happy that my videos have helped you get through some rough patches as well. ❤
The title of fhe album is telling within its self, as i feel the entire album flows as one entire massive sound landscape. On her 2019 release Violence it took on more of a folk sound that i kind of didn't get into, but this is the sound that she pulls off so well. And I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time with things going on, i only wish you all the best and I'm so happy to have ever found this channel and i don't remember how even lol. But yeah nothing but love for you Molly! ❤
That's a really good point about the album title, you're absolutely right how the record kind of mimics that looping pattern with its sound. There is such an amazing flow to it, it's like it goes full circle. And thank you so much for the support, I appreciate it so much. Much love to you as well ❤
Have you ever listened to Emma Ruth Rundle? Her and Chelsea are really good friends and have collaborated together a bunch. I was on the same tour as Emma in 2017 and she's an incredible artist and very kind person. I also think you would love Lingua Ignota. They're all kind of in the same universe of eachother but all very different.
I know that Emma Ruth Rundle has been suggested before, I've never gotten around to checking out her music though. I didn't know she had collaborated with Chelsea Wolfe either, that's cool! I'll have to give her stuff a listen, along with Lingua Ignota.
Been a huge fan since I first heard "Pain is Beauty" in 2013. That album is still my favorite by her. I've seen her live three times. Going to another show next month. Something about her energy as an artist spoke to me immediately. I even made a vocal range video for her on my channel haha. I'm just fascinated by her.
Yeah her entire discography is stellar, she's got some great projects and this newest release is another solid addition. Hard for me to pick a favorite record from her, but Pain Is Beauty mightttttt just be my top pick as well. I'll definitely have to see her live if I get the chance, she's an amazing artist and I'm sure her shows are incredible.
@@mollyesanbornThe more I've listened to the new album, the more I'm sold. It's at least in my top three for sure now. Her live shows are quite an experience...one of the few artists I've ever gotten totally starstruck by. It's like being in the presence of a ghostly entity who accidentally stumbled into our world. My favorite show was during her Hiss Spun tour, here in Chicago.
It’s my favorite since abyss but at times i do ask myself when does the song start. Lots of build up and this tension but little payoff. Still I really enjoyed it but felt like some extra beef would have gone a long way. I feel a little less emotionally connected to this album as well in the past she would pull me into a mood or maybe a trance.
Saw her a couple weeks ago in Charlotte, NC and she performed almost all the songs on this album. Really dark but magical experience and I totally agree with what you're saying here. Lovely review! Edit: And take care of yourself! Your mental health is more important than your viewers' entertainment. I don't know if you're still going through something, but if you are, don't feel any pressure to upload on a schedule.

Glad you're enjoying this album too! A great addition to Chelsea's discography, everything she's put out has been stellar in my opinion. And thank you for the well wishes, it is much appreciated. ❤️
As always Molly, great review, Chelsea's a favorite of mine, this album as a whole is simply wondrous, and yes Place In The Sun is moving up the ranks for the number one spot the more I hear it..just wondering if you'd listened to Chelsea and Jess's side project band Mrs Piss, and their album Self Surgery, if not I'd love to hear what you think, also I'm sorry that there are things occurring for you at present which I hope works out for the better in time Molly, I wish you a positive outcome
Glad you enjoyed this album as well! Place In The Sun is definitely becoming one of my favorites as well, although the whole record works together so well it's hard to pick a single standout track. I'll have to check out Mrs Piss, I wasn't aware of it. Anything involving Chelsea Wolfe is usually a big hit with me! And thank you for the well wishes, I really appreciate it ❤

I enjoyed it, this album already knocked off Saviors by Green Day for my pick for Album of the year. It brings a darkness that you can't escape from, or if you do you want to go back for more. Can't wait to dive back into it.
Glad you enjoyed it too! I also love that darkness, Chelsea Wolfe always has a way of balancing the dark with a beautiful melodicness to her music and this album is no exception. Definitely a solid contender for AOTY (even though it's only February haha). And I'll have to give the Green Day record a listen, I haven't heard that one yet.
