Imagine having been a band for 30+ years, and in the third decade of your career you’re still putting out exciting music that is totally different from anything else you’ve ever done. Most bands as old as converge just end up putting out more of the same old stuff they’ve always done, only much less good, just to please fans. I love this band so much.
…and just because of this, Converge finally grasped my attention.

hey this ain't different from everything else they've done, they always had tracks like eve, grim heart black rose, wretched world etc; this is just a slight progress from those; apparently now they decided to do an entire album of these which is pretty nice

@@gayclubgay7452 I'd say that sonically and thematically, there's not much in common between this and Wretched World except for collaboration, slower tempo and clean vocals contained on track.
I mean if this is all that's needed to say they are simmilar enough to the point where this is nothing new, then how is Jane Doe different from Worms Will Feed, Rats Will Feast, you know?
I'd say this is pretty different from their previous stuff while staying true to their identity.

Chelsea’s voice feels so soulful even in this creepy context. So rich, bold and just full. And of course there’s the dash of the chaotic noisiness in the song that made me fall in love with converge. Amazing. What a piece of art.
Love Chelsea and Converge. They've always written some amazing chill songs on every album so I'm stoked to hear a full album of it with the queen.
Can't stop coming back to this, it's just a masterpiece. Every layer and detail added was the perfect choice.
Been listening to converge since I was 13 years old , I'm now 38 and they give me goosebumps. Best band ever.
One thing I'll always love about Converge is how they've been able to evolve and grow without abandoning their sound. So excited for this album.

Cave In made some of the best metalcore songs ever, and some or the best spacerock tracks too.

I think on the album he has the most overall influence, you can tell all the riffs, sections, melodies and lyrics that he was responsible for…but at the same time the record totally sounds like a mix of converge and more recent Chelsea Wolfe

Stunning track. Converge is pure musical catharsis for me. I love many other bands, but Converge is THE band that I return to again and again. No other band expresses the range of emotion like Converge does, be it anger, sadness, loneliness, or love. They make you want to scream and cry at the same time. These guys are endlessly creative and inspiring. Can’t wait for the new album.

@@xjaskix Wretched World reminds me a lot of the song Cropsey by Have A Nice Life. Both are fairly simple and repetitive in terms of their structure and melody, but each time it repeats it just gradually builds into intensity until it explodes

As someone who deeply loves Chelsea Wolfe and Mutoid Man and has always wanted to be more into Converge, I don't think I could have asked for a better collab. This is seriously incredible. I LOVE hearing Chelsea's vocals so clean and forward in the mix after being buried under fuzz for so many records. I love the addition Stephen's tasty melodic leads bring. This is immediately my new most anticipated album of the year.
This really is a stunning piece of art. From start to finish this album blew me away and blows me away every time I relisten.
This is some Melvin's quality collabing and I am here for it.
The first time I listened to this I was stunned and enthralled. I thought it was a one-off collaboration song. Then I saw that there's a full LP coming and was ecstatic. Then I saw the LP's title included the Roman numeral I, potentially indicating more to come from this collaboration, and I don't know what to do with that. Overwhelming. Absurdly intriguing. If this song is any indication of what's to come, please make at least 3 records together and tour at least once. This shit is awesome!

I certainly want expecting this when I clicked on the thumbnail. I've always loved Converge. This was a very interesting and awesome surprise.
I had the ABSOLUTELY AMAZING EXPERIENCE AND PRIVELAGE of sharing the stage with converge several years ago at The Black Sheep in Corrado Springs, CO. That was the first show we'd ever played where the venue was damn near sold out...for obvious reasons. They're too good live. They sound SO FUCKING MASSIVE.
the evolution of this band is just mind blowing. And the fact that they stay relevant in their progression is even more so, good on ya chaps.

yep, the best songs do that. you wont pick up on everything in the first listens, but then on the 7th listen something that hits you, and then something else the next listen.. and so on.
