    Hi love, I loved the video as per usual! You look STUNNING in that copper dress!! 🤩 However could you do a video on how you pick out your shoes and how you match shoes to outfits because I'm always puzzled about which shoes to wear and I feel it sometimes breaks an otherwise great outfit! love Laura xxx

      Yes! That dress was perfection against her skin tone! I’d never have thought to purchase a colour like that. I’m definitely keep to look out for similar tones

    What's so interesting to me is the difference between the words I would use to describe your outfits and the words you use. It really showed me how individual and personal style is. I also really appreciated your explanation of all the steps you went through and your incorporation of silhouette and color - and how that interacted with your three words. Great video.

    Continuously impressed by the growth, creativity and clear takeaways I see on your channel. I’ve been a fan for a few years now and honestly it amazes me how different and rich/layered your looks are - even though I’ve seen the pieces before you make things look so fresh. Big fan and excited to stay along your journey!

    Classic, Romantic & Quirky
    I wear a lot of classic pieces -- tailored trousers, straight-cut jeans, button-down shirts. But I love to have a romantic element, like ruffles or puff sleeves or flowy fabrics. And quirky usually comes through in a bold color or a fun print, but it could also be in how I put pieces together, like wearing sneakers with a nice dress.
    I find it interesting that our words are quite similar, yet how we interpret them into our wardrobes is unique to each of us.

    Hi, Lumiere. Mine are: abaya, soft and minimal.
    I stay in Moscow at the moment, but spent 9 years of my life in Emirates andi really bring that abaya style into my looks. It is about wearing dresses without being aluring. It is about dignity of being a woman. I like to wear loose dresses with no heels and no make up. I like my hair and face look polished and taken care of. These looks look too elevated to many people, yet for me they are just right.

    One thing I've been enjoying lately is going to my closet after I've showered and all that Jazz and asking myself how I'd like to feel. Classy and sassy? Casual and cozy?. Whatever defining words come to mind , I pick pieces that correlate and put them together.
    It's easier than picking three words, and my personal style is all over the place, words to define me seems like a way to box myself in.

    • @happytofu5
      @happytofu5 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My style is over the place as well. Maybe I don't even have one. What helps me currently is creating outfits with a wardrobe app, taking whole body photos of said outfits and then deciding if I like what I see or not. That way I can condense some favorite outfits that I can match with the weather, my mood and planned activities. Some items overlap so that I can create mini capsules for certain situations (e.g. visiting my family during fall).

    I love your style and the fact that you use quality garments instead of fast fashion. Your evening dress is amazing! If I wore it I would need a more angular necklace, maybe a pendant style, or I would be missing an element to give the outfit some tension. Years ago I made myself a dress in that colour and the fabric I chose was like a raw silk with a subtle dark thread in the material. No one else at the event was wearing that colour and I felt amazing and original without standing out. Thank you for your beautiful, inspiring channel!

    omg yes. I like to look the same from morning to night 😆 no matter where I go, what the occasion is, my outfit stays the same. most people I know they look completely different when they are on work, and look freaking glam when they go out. I just like wearing the same piece so that my wardrobe looks cohesive

    I looked at the word chart and saw so many words that resonated I was reminded of Jane Austen's Emma saying "there will be a difficulty, only 3 at once" 🤣🤣 you're absolutely right, going through the process really helps to define and narrow down our true style. This is something that may take a little bit of time but the pay out is totally worth it.

    Love your videos. My three words are …soft, luxe and classic. I’ve also found when I buy clothes I always consider the colour first, otherwise it’s not right even if it ticks all my other boxes.

    Loved this one. Thanks for posting the list of style words! That really helped me get more specific with my style words. I feel like I really dialed it in. I picked Sensual- (but not in a sexy way, in a more lace, velvet, jewel tones, silk, leather, soft flowy kinda way) Tough- (as a vibe) and Elegant- graceful and stylish :)
    Hope this helps me!! Thx!

    • @happytofu5
      @happytofu5 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I struggled to find words, but I think yours fit me quite well as well. I noticed that I like my outfits best if I have a "sandwich" of sensual at the head / face, then a more relaxed and / or tough top and at the bottom something sensual again. I might play around with this sandwich format and try if I only like this combination, or others as well.

    I've had a really hard time with my 3 words, but the closest I can settle on is: Easy, Eclectic, Practical. I don't do fussy, but I also have a real mix of styles and vibes. Easy and Practical are different in that one is relaxed, somewhere between effortless and undone, and the other speaks to the fact that I cannot abide things that are uncomfortable, or too fanciful/whimsical. But then across all of that, I have everything from a comic book villain trench coat in green/black to a loudly printed boho maxi dress.

    I’ve been giving my three words some through for a while now and feminine always makes my list. My second word is probably effortless and lastly either playful or ironic…I find that I like some irony in my outfit. Like a denim skirt, sweatshirt but then a dressier pair of shoes. I haven’t fully settled on my words but feminine is defiantly one of them.

    My 3 words are : feminine, vivid & classic with an ethereal, artistic & cozy vibes ✨️!!!!
    In my wardrobe currently I own fun bright colors / prints & silhouettes that I can wear for anything including workwear pieces! Yet I don't have "basics" in neutral colors or classic silhouettes! Not all of them ! I have trousers: deep green & bright yellow & pumpkin orange (my kind of neutrals 😊 ) I just started adding them ( leaning more on the chocolatey browns & I keep wanting Grey!! )

    I think you’ve achieved the most important aspect of personal style, knowing what you love to wear, in detail. You’ve really pinned down, not just the overall mood, but the shapes/silhouettes, colors and fabrics that you love, this will stand you in good stead all your life. I think you were incorrectly color typed, though, you are a cool, soft and medium-deep, not dark. Like you, I love plaids, especially in muted colors.

    I wish i could wear such pretty wide trousers of light colors in Moscow! However, 3 words that define my style from September till May, every year, are: mud, mud and MUD in the streets. So no space for long trousers/skirts or pretty shoes...

  • @teresareviewsitall3613

    I overall loved this video, instead of the playful though i would say relaxed to describe the general silhouettes you go for. Playful to me would be more like valeria lip’s style, more turnt up.

  • @user-xm1od9nb1m
    @user-xm1od9nb1m 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The words I can come up with at the top of my head are: androgynous and soft. I’m not sure about my third one yet 🤔
    I’m cool toned and I think that’s why ai’ve naturally never been drawn to bold color blocking, but I do like to sprinkle in some color with patterned clothes, but I prefer pattern with more muted colors like pale yellow, blue or green, olive green etc mixed together or with gray or black for example.
    Wearing other colours that I don’t think is as flattering I like to wear on pants or skirts, like you said it’s easier to ”get away” with if it’s not right by your face

    My 3 words now are probably: comfortable/functional, feminine, chic 😊 though they've changed quite a bit over time but I've realized that comfort and function really is my go-to since I don't need to be as careful with my clothes and thus can move freelt without worrying too much. But chic fashion has also made it ro the list, mainly after watching all your videos 💕 and I've always loved feminine clothes like skirts and frills but now I try to balance it more, which I really enjoy~

    • @DailyHelenJ
      @DailyHelenJ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I enjoy your videos. After thinking about what my words are, I had a hard time narrowing them down to just 3 because I very much dress based on my mood. I came up with classic, relaxed, and quirky which is so fitting because I've always loved a timeless piece contrasted with something unexpected whether that's fabrics, colors, silhouettes, styles etc. I love wearing a casual outfit with dressy gold sandals or a dressier outfit with my converse high tops. I chose relaxed because no matter what I choose, I like my outfits to feel effortless and easy.

    My 3 words at the moment are natural (ie authentic, relaxed, effortless and incorporating natural fabrics), current (a nod to a trend or a modern silhouette), and classic. Thanks for the reminder to consider my words if an outfit feels off. That will be so helpful!

    My three words are : creative, practical/utilitarian, feminine
    Creative means mostly combining colours and interisting details in my outfits, quite similar of your playful, but I usually dress quite formally so creative feels more accurate for me. I think the others words are quite self explanitory. I love a bit of utilitarian elements, my outfits needs to be practical for my activities. Feminine is as you described it.
    Love your channel ! 😊

    Have you ever heard of Dressing Your Truth? It is a colour system but so much more. It takes into account your facial features and personality and is a lot easier to work out than the undertone, skin colour systems. It also gives advice on texture, patterns and design lines that work for each type. I have found it amazingly helpful and makes shopping so much easier. I think you were probably mistyped.

    I realized that I like a playful style too. It makes dressing up more intresting. I started to include pops of color to a neutral aestetic. My favorite way to do that are leather goods like a belt, bag or shoes. Ruffels, puff sleeves, intersting cuts on more neutral peices and playig with texture. I really like the tips you gave to find 3 resonanting words for your personal style. I think it helps a lot with visualization. Thank you for motivating me to work on my personal style. :)
