Love the cozy, drapey sweaters, scarves, and outerwear!
me too!!
I generally don't follow trends, but it's interesting when I start seeing things I'm naturally drawn to start trending.
@@aniE1869 I’m the same, there are certain things that aren’t quite classics that I like, so keep my eyes peeled for them to come round again.
@@aniE1869 I am the same. That's why I say 'I don't follow trends. Trends follow me.' 😂
They will be easier to buy now I assume...not sure about the quality though
@@minebosman2809 Me either. We don't have to look like little fashion soldiers. Thankfully we are in an era where there are many options while still looking like you're not dated.
Same boat
The drapy outerwear is definitely my favorite. I have a huge scarf with removable fur collar, it works both like a scarf and like nearly a poncho, I think it’s chic and also very comfortable. With high brown leather boots it also gets the English countryside vibe, which I like.
Drape, drape, drape!! And some good plaid and checkers in wool 👌🏼
Much awaited, your takes on trends are my favourite.
by the way..thanks for summing up all it really helps to quickly check what we can do to adapt to the trends....sometimes is just 'shopping' in our closets....sometimes 😀
For me, it's Britisch countryside, belts, and drapey. I already have everything I need in my wardrobe for that. I would say I have been focusing on mindful tucking and belting. It makes a big difference in an outfit.
Love the British Country side look ..Thanks Justine
I feel like those masculine fits and trends are meant for other bodies that are not mine.
I am more or less petite and have a very femenine shape so I look quite absurd in that kind of clothes. I would welcome a video about how to adapt this trend to different body shapes in a modern way because my personal reference for this style is Annie Hall.
Said that, I liked the drapey coats, the smooth leather and the belts.
Thanks a lot for your insights!!!
I also like to dress like a woman...but stylish. How to manage that? 😅
The belt! Easy and there are so many options
Merci, Justine! For some reason, YT has been hiding your videos from me, so I'm really glad I saw this. I love fall fashions. The cleverly accessorized menswear trend is probably the one I'd wear most often because it looks cool & wouldn't swallow me up, & I love the smooth, drapey leather one as well. The British countryside is fabulous & screams Bridgerton, & the drapey coats/big scarves look great, but if I wore one, my head would look like a pea. I don't know whether this is the first time you've done it, but highlighting the look you're discussing on each trend board really helps us follow along with your thoughts.
Gorgeous choices!,Wearable, realistic and inclusive for anyone! You’ve done it again, Justine with this selection , and it’s good to see several looks that can be achieved both on a budget and for us petite women.
thank you - and glad you like this selection!
I live in Toronto and it’s so cold and damp. I have missed big oversized coats, and bought one this year. Knitting a big scarf to wear with it.
I BET this wouldn’t surprise you, it would be the British Countryside style for me 😊 it looks and feels comfortable and realistically wearable! I hope you’re having a nice Autumn season, J!
This does not surprise me ;-)
And it really never goes out of style.
@@maryokeefe5351😊
I love the Fashion Boards and your Explanations. 💕
The drapey coat is the winner for me.
Love the innovative, sometimes subtle Belt trend
The coat and leather look, I got myself kitted out with the most luxurious 90s cashmere oversized coat called by everyone in the shop "The coat" and a lovely 80s leather jacket - as usual way ahead of trends spent less than 8 Euro on both and will look totally amazing this winter ❤
Loving the coats with large matching scarfs and belts... a belt can change the outfit and a good way to adapt old coats, blazers to this fall season ( changing a regular blazer into a waist one)
@AnabelaS-p4k ooooh, great idea the blazer with a belt, will be "stealing" it! 😉
Drapey and British countryside! All for big scarves and woolly warmth :-)
The drapy outerwear is my favorite trend!!!
I usually love leather in outfits but the shiny, liquid versions always reminded me of cheap, plastic leather
As a rather matronly older woman none, and I do mean not a single one, of these trends will flatter me so I'll be swerving them all!
@@WeLiveByTheSea I agree with you. None of these are flattering unless you opt for the BELT as it accentuates the waist
Don’t bother commenting.
@@kellylappin5944 Assuming you are addressing @WeLiveByTheSea, why not? While attractive as trends (come and) go, these looks are not for everyone. They best suit people who are tall and slender like the models showcasing them. Belted or unbelted, for a great number of people these styles are not flattering.
Matronly, older women like to look stylish, too. It's frustrating when trends don't offer anything uplifting to them.
@@kellylappin5944 why? My comment was not a reflection on Justine's video. Justine always makes excellent videos and I have subscribed to her channel for years. It is permitted to not like trends. Some trends or any trends. And that opinion is as valid as any other. Justine does not set the trends. She reports on them. Perhaps you didn't understand that? Often there are trends she reports on that I do like and find very flattering. That was not the case in this video. Justine asked for comments and I gave mine. Factually and with reasons to explain my opinion. I was not rude or derogatory. You on the other hand are rude and you are not the fashion police. If you don't like my comment feel free to keep scrolling.
@@maggiemiddleton8760 I have an hour glass figure, although these days it's more like a 24 hour glass! So I do like to wear fitted clothing that accentuates my waist. I do agree that a belt would be the best option from these trend boards but I don't like anything too restricted either. I prefer dresses with a defined waistband as I find they offer style and comfort and define the waist in the same way as a belt would.
Merci Justine, Capes and ponchos are so warm and luscious. Unfortunately in the pacific Northwest (vancouver, Canada) we get a lot of rain in the late fall and winter so I can't wear it as long as I'd like. Belts will be fun to play with too.
love the colour of your top💙 happy to see the comfy, drapey scarves you can hide into and winter can't reach you😄
My favorite trend is the liquid leather in muted earth tones ThNk you for sharing! ❤
you're welcome!
The draped outerwear is perfect for me - I have some lovely new knitted shawls I finished over the summer that totally encompass this beautiful trend!
I love the shiny leather trend. I've always loved leather ❤ I will look for a coat and skirt. I know I will wear them until they're worn out..
Justine Leconte, I've been online shopping for a maximum-warmth winter coat for months but haven't found a style and size combination that appeals to me. I possibly could find a less warm coat and make good use of the drapey outerwear trend. A very large, long and thick scarf of soft-on-the-skin materials might be the answer for me. Global climate change could well eliminate my need for protection from -30F temperatures, but that's a gamble I can't afford to take. Looking forward now with renewed optimism to finding a good enough coat with a splendid, huge scarf. As always, I enjoy your TRENDS videos and all your videos. Thank you.
I liked the draped outerwear, but I love plaid! English countryside was the choice for me
Love your trend videos, thanks!
British countryside girl here ! I will be rocking my barbour jacket and my Le Chameau boots with great pleasure once again ^^
Is Le Chameau a French brand?
@@justineleconte yes it is, but I think that the boots are made in Morocco now... as you know we don't have many shoes industry anymore in France :(
Princess Kate loves her Le chameau boots ^^
I started the men's coat trend last year by accident. I thrifted a long wool coat because I needed one. It happens to be double breasted. If I button it up to the neck and belt it, I look like a Russian officer from the late 1800's. Kidding aside (I don't wear it like that), it was a staple last winter and I expect that it will be moving forward. It's just warm, comfortable, stylish and versatile.
well, keep wearing it ;-)
I was already wondering if u’d be making this typa video this season 😮💨😍
Bonjour and merci! 💕
Drapey coat large scarf❤
Im a working class Brit so the idea of trying to look like a posh person fills me with a existential crisis however I will try and mould the draping element to my style probably, although the muted earthey tones are not for me so I will be avoiding that .
My favorite styles boxy /oversized blazers with dropping shoulders (80s) accessorized with fine understated belts in same color family/or pattern and long earrings, draped coats and scarves. I bought from &Other Stories a tweed blazer along those lines. I also love the shiny leather in bordeaux color think Gucci runway, I believe it is a very powerful and rich looking, but you need to be the kind of women that carries that character to pull off this trend as it is quite bold, yet absolutely stunning. I love the styles that empower women to be themselves and unafraid to mix yin and yang in their looks. We all carry those energies within our souls, however it is important to know who you are as a person and what represents you best. For me fashion and style is an expression of who we truly are in the inside.
The coat with the scarf
I cannot agree with you more about Isabel Marant!!!
Me, too! I absolutely love this!
As always , so informational and succinct, thank you! Love the drape outwear and muted colours for me . I am wondering if you can add tips on which type these would look good on . I recall your video on Kibbe system few years ago, most would be for dramatic / romantic type ( me guessing) 😅
models are mostly "rectangle" body types and rarely "romantic" in the Kibbe system, indeed runway shows often do not make it easy to imagine the clothes on oneself when one isn't the same type...
drapey outerwear is the only one that even appeals to me and the only place I'd wear it is on my covered back porch with a mug of hot tea on a rainy or wintery day LOL
hot tea for me too, please!
Mega early! I'm so pleased that many may come around to patchwork layering, my sewing machine is going to get put to work and old clothes recycled!🧵🧩
Have fun!
Having been in the English countryside as a professional in the equine industry, I can safely say that the weekend people stand out like the bad jokes on a Benny Hill skit. And they do dress like they bought the Harrods "The Queen is Coming for the Weekend Riding" ensemble.
Meanwhile I'm in jods, sweater, tie, boots, and probably have ridden 4 horses and have the snot, pewp, and other stains to prove it.
I'd rather look sincere than foppish.
I lke the men's wear trend, I have enough from thrifting that I am set.
Drape-y looks good on certain body types, it can go dumpy SUuuuuuuper fast.
Earlier, wearing layers of clothes under boxy outwear was not considered a very flattering silhouette. How the tables have turned now!
Hello, where is your sweater from? It's BEAUTIFUL.
Struggling to find these trends in flattering cuts for plus size 😢
Did you see Lenny Kravitz' blank sized scarf? It was huge!
Favorite trend is British countryside 👍🏻
We had a very warm winter/fall in Detroit last year, and expected to have another warm year. I'm interested to see if these brands adapt their seasonal lines to climate change in the coming years.
my guess: probably not so soon, as they cater for all climates, time zones and regions of the world. But we'll see!
❤
Horror
None of it looks wearable
Oh I disagree! The suiting, the long coats, the flannels are great for colder autumn and winter weather. Of course, the editorial pieces are quite extra. And in my previous desert climate, the abundant fabric and layers are surplus to requirements. But most are quite wearable, compared to many runway trends.
@@Neenerella333 uh, not if you're menopausal and shaped like a block.
@@RCGWho I personally don’t care for any of it because none of these trends would look good on my mature but fine-boned frame.
Funny (sad?) that international designers are doing "British Aristocracy" just as the UK - and, very probably, most of Europe - fall into an even more desperate stage of economic decline. Referencing The Hunger Games makes a lot more sense.
Hi Justine!
Wonderful video, as always. While I love these oversized boxy and drapey silhouettes on the models, I feel like I look like I'm drowning in them. Any tips for how to balance the looks on a rather smaller frame?
"How to wear..." is such a good idea. Yes, please, Justine.
I would love it if you could take these trends and recreate an outfit with each trend with clothes that are not from the runway. How would an ordinary person pull off the trend?
how do you adapt for people of below average height, like me. please help needed.
Am oversized trench with matching scarf. Would chunky boots work?
The cozy wraping is my favourite.
I understand the concept, but some of them look like costumes for Halloween 🎃. Hmmm. Some are surprisingly nice
Like the Balmoral-sequel plaids, and cosy drape capes and such! I have some things I can bring out!
❤Scaaarfs❤ Justine, thank you for the video. I am going to fully enjoy comfortable british style & drapery 😊
I’ve been waiting for this video! Yay!
Too much fabric, too tight round necks, too much of everything. Not too feminine, I would say, unless you are 1,80 m of height and a 40 French size. Definitely too much, should we sink in the fabric? Thanks for the video, always great presentations
I like the first trend with the checks, and the draping leather trend.
All of these trends are a miss for me, and I have a "supermodel" body. I'm sometimes confused when you say a piece is "impeccably tailored", Justine, because it often looks sloppy to me! But I'm not a fan over oversized clothing at all, so maybe that's why.
British countryside all day long.
Ugh, I wish I was tall (and thin, lol) to wear loose, boxy, drapey clothes... and multiple layers!!
I've been dreaming about finding a vintage boxy tweed or plaid blazer.
I really love the draped coats with matching scarves!
I completely ignore trends, but I love watching your intelligent and insightful takes on them ❤
Lovely, cozy, huge drapy scarves and sweaters! (with pants or maxi skirt) all the same colours! Oh la la! Fantastic!
I am in! ;) helene :))
I liked the drapey outerwear - especially with the matchy scarves and wraps
Justine, do you apply these fashion trends to your wardrobe? If so, would you consider showing us? Or perhaps you could show us photos/drawings of other people who have done this for day to day clothing. I'm having difficulty seeing how to do this without feeling uncomfortably self-conscious.
I don't like that oversized outfits. Of course wear mens wear. But fitted. I like my body and I don't want to hide it. As a petite pear I would look like a running tent. 😅
Grace Jones had the body for male industrial look. 40 years ago.
Hello Justine,
Well I'm aaaaall about plaid! Very easy to find second hand, even high end pieces! Plaid + denim + high gloss leather accessories❤❤🎉
Hi Justine ❤loved your synopsis !! I loved the plaid pants with scarf and the leather looks. Thank you
Tired of the masculine look, I would much rather want to see a trend that emphasizes women's femininity and class - with elegant skirts and dresses, especially for winter.
Drapy outerwear, and belts, but I'm pretty sure I need a new Boot this winter. You can never have too many accessories!
Hi Justine! Thank you for this presentation and discussion. I would try the cozy oversized outerwear trend, definitely! Like the same color large scarf and coat especially. Elegant!
My favorite is the same as yours - Isabel Morant!!
3:52 blue dress model looks hangry.
I always liked men’s wear and suits! I love tweed and woolen cosy fabric. These are part of my style since ever! It’s fun that what I have in my wardrobe is trendy now!!!
Thank you for this. I love the matching outfits, particularly the one with the scarf, I think it was all green. Also the big boxy coat. That's just 'me'.
I like the “British Countryside” trend because it cozy and warm. 😊when I was younger I wore the draped trend and it nice for traveling in trains, planes and cars. I do have a black kid leather blazer I break out in the Fall. I’ve owned it for over 20 years and it keeps looking current.
Love the drapey outerwear. Some of the menswear inspired fashions were, in my mind, reminiscent of Katherine Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich trouser looks, which I love. As always, thank you for your viewpoint.
Favourite = large drape scarves. Loving that cosy look as we head into winter months.
Men's long woolen coats are easy to thrift, I found a vintage cashmere blend brand coat last year for €35 which I LOVE! ❤
Cozy outerwear! I will drape on all the scarves, yes!
Looking forward to your next video!
wow that's great!!!
Giant coat matching scarf. Love it! Also capes, I have many, and wear them often.
Whoohoo! I can finally pull out my giant red fluffy cape and proudly wear my big, long scarves this winter :D
Thank you for another fantastic video. I was wondering would you consider doing a video for fashion whilst pregnant? I'm really struggling and I'm sure that I cannot be the only one who would find it extremely helpful.
Look forward to your trend predictions, always so good and inspiring ❤
Well done Justine! thank you I'm doing the neck tie and big soft sccarf🥰
Thank you for this summary, Justine! Love the first "trend", I tend to wear the British style every autumn, Barbour jacket, knee high leather boots, greens, browns, tartan - love it ❤
I have been purchasing pieces from Gundrunsjoden for the past few years. I am happy to see the trends toward stylish comfort and warmth. Love your content. 🇨🇦
Anything that looks like you wore a blanket out of the house sounds great to me
Belts! My favorite ones are from Sézane
