An incredible performance, she is an absolute genius.
Even my American German mom is the same! Hahah! I told her about Laura's famous line, "Who raised you?!! Oh... It was me." Because I get reamed for setting an elegant holiday table just a little bit wrong. Or cooking cookies with the ingredients in not precisely the order my mom would have done it.

You mean YOU are not used to it. That's basically theater. Theater isn't just Drama and such it's also comedy just like that and nothing new at all. It's also not rediscovered bc there are tons of classicly trained contemporary actors and actresses. YOU are just used to the 80% of untrained garbage nepo-baby actors /actresses who rotate on every movie that comes out of Hollywood.
Please type "theater" into Google and educate yourself about the art of acting.

I think she read all of Jules Feiffer cartoons. If she did his cartoons live, it would be just like this.
I wish she told stories about these characters as herself, switching into their voices to land punchlines. Acting out her shorts just doesn’t work on stage, even though they’re hilarious.
It would definitely work for the German Mom sketches, but I'm not sure about the Italian Dad ones, mainly because of the language barrier... 😅
It's true that a Maria Bamford-esque style could suit her, though!

I am always disappointed when a life show uses the same jokes as a TikTok. I consider tik tok the teaser to actually go and see someone. And while I really like German mum and Italian dad and think it's great to see those characters I would have wanted a development of these characters that hasn't been on tik tok yet.

I absolutely love her videos but to me this is not funny at all, especially the screaming in the first part... The rest is just a repetition of what we have already seen.
I saw she announced her tour and was so excited. Decided to come and find some stage clips to get an idea of what the show would be. Glad I did. At almost $40 for a ticket 😬 nah
