I have a 3 week old chick that was recently rejected by the mom and father. It doesn't seem to interested in the formula, I just started today and have watched many videos of how to feed. Will it slowly start showing interest in the syringe?
Put a little in it’s mouth and let it swallow it on its own. After a few days it’ll start the bobbing motion and swallow so you can get up to the speed of the lady in the video in about a week. Keep watch of the crop to see that it doesn’t get red veins bc that’s a sign of sour crop(look up how to treat that).

Mine aren’t eating from a spoon or a syringe. Idk how to introduce it to them and I’m worried because momma is feeding less. There are 4 babies in total. I have the same formula as well
@@Roomy178 exact formula is not for cockatiels can cause diarrhea and harm cockatiels. Do not use EXACT FORMULA. Might be good for conures or African gray.
Great video I had a cockatiel for 20 years she died about a year ago I never thought that I would want another one but I do now but I can’t find them anywhere
They dont need water because the formula has enough water, when they’re a little older you can put a small bowl of water in their nest box and when they’re interested they will try to drink, hope this helped💗

Depends on their age. If they are new born every hour. 3-5 weeks every three hours 5 weeks above until weaned every 4 hours. Hand feeding cockatiels is not easy. 🙂

All depends. I usually check their crop. When they are full than I stop feeding them. Once I know how much each baby is needing I start to prep the food accordingly.

Here’s a tip. You can get those syringes for free at your local pharmacy. 😊 They’re exactly the ones I have to give my son his allergy meds. 😂

What do you do with the remainder of formula that’s not used? I find myself making a little bit too much and it’s almost like I’m wasting the rest.
I feed so many times, now I know how much to make. 🙂 Plus If I have any left, I leave it in fridge for 3 hours and use for next time.

You need to put the fingers around their head like Im doing. They will open the mouth. This will allow you to feed them.

Hi. Warm the formula a little more, not hot but warmer. Should feel warm to your skin. If doesn’t want syringe can try a spoon.
Sounds like a newly pulled baby so takes learning the new way of eating. Usually temperature of food does the trick
