Hello, thanks for the tutorials but would you be able to cover more sequencing items such as sequencing automation, including tempo changes, note gate adjustments, etc?

How about polyrhythms? One zone with 1/16 and 16 steps and a second zone at 1/16 and 15 steps.

Can I just use the Tempo button to adjust the tempo, and will that change the speed of recordings that have already been programmed in?

Why can't I send Program Changes to an external sound module? I load the midi files into the Fantom and are assigned to play through the external sound module, but all parts have piano sound. Tell me that I'm missing something here.

Is it possible to use TR Rec to play a bass line?

How can I play a variation of same instrument simultaneously with another variation(pattern) of the same instrument? A Basic feature.
Example: on same a same instrument, let's say piano.
pattern 1: a prelude or interlude of piano
Pattern 2: a chord or bass of piano
Both pattern on same instrument at the same time.
Please Don't say create another track with same instrument.

Unfortunately, I don’t think you can do what you want without creating another zone of the same instrument and coping the patterns you want to play at the same time to it.

      hmmm. Very basic feature missing.
Already I feel limited with Fantom as a workstation for sequencing.
      1. I tried importing a layered multi-sample few months back with the official SVZ converter and it didn't work well.
      2. with one insert effect at zone level limits to add basic effects like for example chorus and delay on an instrument at the same time. Two is the minimum.
      3. I don't find it very useful though it has a Phantom powered microphone input . I cannot input audio directly over a zone with effects for a live singing or directly record to a zone in pattern mode. The only work around for pattern mode is overwrite and record on top of pad and then use one of the zones for sample pad and then record as a pattern.
can keep listing some other basic features missing as well...
I am sure Roland can provide a firmware update to enable these basic features.
I will wait until this Christmas for Roland to give the best basic features before I make a move to the MPC key that is light years ahead.

@@ajilful I don't think you will do what you say you want to do on the mpc... even ableton won't let you do that without creating another track with the same instrument.... This is the way even yamaha does it... you can't play two patterns on same track at the same time... You need to create a different track...

agreed. may not be possible that way in other DAWs. But MPC provides loads of tracks (128) per sequence so even if I need to duplicate same ins. that would be fine I guess but still I wish there would be a better way of doing it there. I remember I was looking for similar multi-pattern feature for per scene in Maschine few years back still not there as well I believe.
I can copy and overdub into a separate pattern on same track but sometime I feel its a painful process.
plus the layered sound as part of a scene in fantom I couldn't find a direct way to use them as part of patterns as the patterns itself is the part of scenes workflow. As of now to get a heavily layered scenes I am sampling them to the pad as then importing them as audio into sample zone pattern within the 16 tracks, on top of that I don't want to duplicate.
Thanks for the info @Emmanuel Machuki . Cheers

@@ajilful True. If you are running out of tracks, then MPC is the way to go. But I think you can still accomplish what you are intending to do by overdubbing. Pattern A = interlude, Pattern B = chords or bass and Pattern C = copy of interlude with bass or chords overdubbed on top of it. So now you have achieved it without having to create a different track. If you want to play A&B together just play pattern C. If you want only interlude or Chords, then Play either Pattern A or Pattern B.
