I was a fool to order this i did not see this video until after i purchased it i agree with this video i bought one after smelling a burning smell and noticing my gas going down faster i uninistalled it immediately and it runs fine now 2006 hhr 2.2 i took it apart and exactly what it shows bullshit

I was thinking of buying one, but then I saw the top rated performance chips boosting HP by around 20 give or take 5hp, and they were all $300 up to $700, so when I saw what this one was boasting, and for a whopping $69 (looks like they increased their price) something seemed off. I mean, that's just an outright scam!!

I think I was one of the ones that asked you to open this because someone else posted about a different vehicle with the same hot glued fake-ass chip. This "company" needs to have the owner strung up by the nuts.
I was just curious if these things had any merit, found your video and holy smokes! Most TTL chips have VCC plus power to pin 1 in the top left corner. There is absolutely no connection to that PIN to provide power from the image you just showed. There is no way this chip does anything especially with hot glue and bent pens that are not connected to anything. Thank you very much for such an awesome video I hope this company blows up and disappears.

Oh, just got to the part where opened it up. Unbelievable! There's an IC chip with no support components and the chip leads don't connect to anything at all. That unit is a total scam! One more thing: I'm an electronics technician. I've studied electronics, graduated and worked in electronics where I did hundreds of repairs to circuit boards. That unit has zero function!
I got a Performance Revamp Chip for my ‘03 Mercury Grand Marquis, and I actually notice a difference in power. The car has better throttle response and more torque it seems. Not a lot but definitely noticeable. That sucks it doesn’t work for you guys, I guess their 4Runner chips are trash.

I bought this and haven’t installed yet. The instructions tell you which wires to connect to and basically is the air intake temp. They also say you should use at least 89 octane gas which that’s going to give your car a horsepower boost itself. Can’t see this thing doing anything and your video confirms it. Going to send it back. Thanks for your video!
Glad to shed some light on it. 89 from 87 octane wouldn't yield any difference and if someone is usually running 87, it's not a high compression engine so any higher octane wouldn't do much anyway. Running E85 would help but that's a whole other conversation.

Thatt lil old " chip" wasn't even hooked up...!!! Being a life long Electronic Technician, I've worked on most every kind of electronics from TV's to stereos, to avionics, that's electronics used in aircraft, and having built, tested and troubleshot and repaired all kind of advanced digital and analog circuitry. I can attest to you that little ole chip on that do nothing circuit board , of which I have many for building my own circuits, wasn't even attached to the two wires going into the box and even if they were attached as in "soldered" to any of the legs of the chip, it's highly doubtful anything of any consequence could be achieved by attaching the two wires and the chip to any automotive system. As was proven by your exhibition. I do thank you for going thru the motions and opening up the box, to show me and the general public just what junk is being hoisted upon us. Saving us that watches your video, from making a poor decision and wiring useless junk into our cars and trucks. Potentially damaging them in the process, or at least putting crap in our vehicles that don't do anything, wasting our time and money in the process. Tried mine out on a Tundra 4.7 and it did do something to improve the throttle response, now that was night and day. Waiting to see if I get any extra mpg but doubt it. So many ppl missing out on the much faster response bc of this video hahaha 🎉

Good question. I believe I wanted it to work. It was placebo effect. How I felt and what really happened are 2 different things. After running it for a few weeks I had realized that nothing had changed. Only my driving habit. That's when I decided to open it up and realize I had been bamboozled.
this chip is a total scam. a friend gave me his old one to try out and i opened it up before installing it and its exactly like yours was. hot glued wires not even touching the circuit board and a microchip of some sort not even soldered to the board. probably just there for looks. I'm glad i didn't pay for it id be pissed!
I got one myself for my old Jeep awhile back and I’d say from my personal experience from it before and after, it didn’t seem to add any power but it DEFINITELY cut my gas mileage in half at least on my old Cherokee. I used to take the same trip every 2 weeks, trip used a half tank after the chip set in I was using a quarter of a tank there and back. Good for gas mileage but I’d say no on power

Atmospheric conditions, fuel, tire conditions, etc. can cause a half second faster 0-60. Didd you watch the entire video? Did you see what was inside? It is an impossibility for this device to work.
I opened it up and yeah it’s pretty sad but looks like some microchip that is just a fancy looking resistor. So it does change something in the af ratio but that’s as far as my knowledge goes with this stuff. All I know is it works and the proof is in the pudding. Try a dragy yourself if you still have it
Slap a ohmmeter on the wires and it gives a resistance value so I mean yeah there ya go. I definitely could’ve made it myself but tbh didn’t care enough to research more in the past

I did that deck mod on my 2003 TRD Prerunner Tacoma.. loved it for the way it sounded but didn't make much of a difference performance wise I don't think..
The way that 3four sounded i thought you were gonna throw a rod. And all those 2 wire chips do is spoof the intake air temp and make the engine think its getting denser air.
None of these performance chips especially if they're cheap you get what you pay for and also you would have to change a lot of other things if that chip really did give you 70 horsepower or you're going to blow your engine up because your engine is setup to factory specs so if it really did give you 70 horsepower it would hurt your engine more than it would help it in the long run

Honestly? I think it was the way I drove to test it. I don't know ever drive my truck like that. After having it on for a couple days I realized nothing in my truck had changed. Not even a fuel economy. Having it dyno'd would be ideal but I'm not doing that for a 4Runner. I wouldn't dare put this on my Nismo.

They are not old air intake, in truth they are hot air intake. You install a cold air intake look where your getting your cold from the hot ass engine compartment. The factory has your air coming into your system from in between the wheel well and fender not the air from your hot ass engine compartment.

The only thing I know that works is changing out the ecu.....we got a toyota highlander and frequently go to medillin colombia for medical reasons not the other stuff the DOD guys and retirees go for on the youtube videos.....I know many people that just buy a new ECU down there and change it out but keep the old one for these emissions crap here stateside....the horsepower increase on your engine is impressive and they make them for all vehicles
Wish I would of seen your video before I bought it. I know a little bit about circuits and as soon as I opened it I was mad. They are pulling of a scam. The chip is a 16 dip or 8 banks of resistors. Each 5.1k ohms of resistance and mine was soldered to one bank but all that did was tell my Ford Explorer that the air temp was about -100c degrees. I’ve already been talking with the BBB and I’m still waiting for a refund. About to take them to small claims. Wish there was a way to let more people know about there scam. Oh and awesome video, if people do get to watch it before they buy one you explain everything and if they buy after they watch then they are dumb.
Hoodlm13b - Thoughts, Reviews and How-to's! I’m starting to think the only way to get my money back and to stop others from getting scammed. I already talked to an attorney and I was told to not send it back. As soon as it’s out of my hands there’s no case but I still have to give them 2 more weeks to total 30 days to see what they say and do about there product and return policy. No, not really. You need a tune or "tuner" that can manipulate the mapping of the ECU. The older Toyotas are really hard to tune because the ECU is encrypted. Best bet is bolt ons (intake, exhaust, etc.).

It does absolutely nothing.
Most of these chips are just a resistor that plugs into the air temp sensor . Causing the pcm to read colder air temp ,in turn burns richer

Wish I would have saw this earlier. My overall milage did increase from 475 miles on a full tank to around 550 so I just assumed it was working.

@@bryantrevino2757 it has increased my gas milage a decent amount, I wasn't really worried about the hp increase, so for me it was still worth it
@@jtwanjason7173 I am getting 12 average MPG on a 99 expedition 4x4. are you getting at least 4 mpg increase? If not, I don't think it is worth it.

The only thing I know that works is changing out the ecu.....we got a toyota highlander and frequently go to medillin colombia for medical reasons not the other stuff the DOD guys and retirees go for on the youtube videos.....I know many people that just buy a new ECU down there and change it out but keep the old one for these emissions crap here stateside....the horsepower increase on your engine is impressive and they make them for all vehicles

Wish I would of seen your video before I bought it. I know a little bit about circuits and as soon as I opened it I was mad. They are pulling of a scam. The chip is a 16 dip or 8 banks of resistors. Each 5.1k ohms of resistance and mine was soldered to one bank but all that did was tell my Ford Explorer that the air temp was about -100c degrees. I’ve already been talking with the BBB and I’m still waiting for a refund. About to take them to small claims. Wish there was a way to let more people know about there scam. Oh and awesome video, if people do get to watch it before they buy one you explain everything and if they buy after they watch then they are dumb.

Hoodlm13b - Thoughts, Reviews and How-to's! I’m starting to think the only way to get my money back and to stop others from getting scammed. I already talked to an attorney and I was told to not send it back. As soon as it’s out of my hands there’s no case but I still have to give them 2 more weeks to total 30 days to see what they say and do about there product and return policy. I’ll keep everyone informed on what happens but the attorney said this could turn out to be a huge deal with them having to pay out money to everyone who has ever bought one.

No, not really. You need a tune or "tuner" that can manipulate the mapping of the ECU. The older Toyotas are really hard to tune because the ECU is encrypted. Best bet is bolt ons (intake, exhaust, etc.).
